@@BoCoffey-w8uI'm not sure Malvern will be a city you can deliver to but pretty sure it will be "seen" on I30. I lived about 8 yrs in Arkadelphia and managed depots in Hope and Camden. I expect these towns to be the same as Malvern. Either way it's a really good DLC!
I'm so chuffed for you that you have your slice of the world lovingly recreated. Fingers crossed when they finally rework the UK In Euro Truck 2 I'll get the same experience for my neck of the woods. :)
It looks great but I can't help but think at how the scale of the maps absolutely worked against this DLC. Driving through the Boston Mountains from Fayetteville to the Alma and I-40 interchange is really majestic and captures a really nice piece of that Ozark charm. I think it was not captured very well here where its at its most prominent in real life. It's about a 45 mile stretch of winding through massive Ozark mountains and here it seems very lackluster. Again, not saying it doesn't look great. Just that I think it could be just a little more expansive.
They neglected to make any tweaks, they compressed the maps and didn’t think to adjust other things. Like the acceleration of the trucks, I leave Phoenix and don’t hit 65mph until Tucson. That’s 1:40 minutes real time to hit 65. These trucks ain’t that slow…
@@NotchNate OTOH the AI traffic stops on a dime so you gotta slam the brake though the floor hard and early... took a significant amount of time for me to get used to that. Oh, and they also "take off" that quickly. Always feels like you're being in slomo, especially if you try to drive realistically in VR. There's genuinely like places in both ETS2 and ATS that allow me like 2.5-3 times the speeds I'd be comfortable with. To be fair, that's mostly in the older maps that haven't seen any reworks yet.
Map scale has always been a problem, Wyoming is a fairly huge empty state and the game really doesn't capture the whole drive two and three hours at 75mph and not see anything. Texas is gigantic and takes forever to get anywhere.
@@BlueDually4x4 My biggest issue with the map scale has been remote yards (typically agricultural ones) that aren't zoned like a city. Arriving with like 4 hours of time left, only to fail the timing because a minute is 3 seconds and it takes you 15+ minutes to cram that oversized load thing into a tight spot by backing it up with the jeep in between your fifth wheel and the actual trailer... SCS really needs to set every company yard to city scale no matter what.
"Whilst the view outside the truck is the main focus, you may find that the cab you're travelling in feels a little different... we wonder why that might be." It's Mack Pinnacle, and it will be featured on the Arkansas DLC cover. Hope it will be an official announcement soon.

Just a couple of notes: Arkansas follows the MUTCD exactly as it is written, which requires acceleration lanes for all onramps (which Arkansas makes sure to build). I-49 in this video does not have these required lanes. Just after exiting Fort Smith on US-71, I noticed the yellow center lines are marked as a passing zone around a corner. This should not be a passing zone. Is the lack of US-70 between Hot Springs and Little Rock due to the work-in-progress? This seems odd to not have this road or the rest of the Hot Springs bypass. I have left the ATS community 3 years ago after getting banned from the forums for voicing my opinion of wanting to have more out-of-truck tasks such as cargo securement (the moderators considered it off-topic in my own thread about a project I had stopped working on because of these issues), however this DLC has me very excited to re-enter the community, especially with seeing the new dynamic cargo for grain hoppers. If we get this style of dynamic loading and unloading for other freight, namely flatbed and van load, I'd be very excited!
I never have been banned but I also have talked about the same things, along with beverage trucks, dirt and scratches, and wind. Maybe these will get added as some point when a full USA is finished.. Also the game, UI and graphics have changed alot since 3 years ago so, I'd start over with the game from scratch.

Instead of having to negotiate with Volvo and Mercedes and wait for them to grant a license to use the image of the Volvo FH 2021 or Mercedes-Benz Actros MP5 in the game, I think they should add the latest electric truck models from Volvo and Mercedes. Good job SCS,. about the "simulation" part of the game; the world is not freshly paved at all time, the cloud surfing is a bit annoying after a couple minutes, make it feel more satisfying to hit the road, the realism side of driving is left on the table in my opinion...some small changes could go a long way, for example your bum is on a airseat... i know exactly how my seat will react with my body on the road and its an important part of the waltz for the "simulation". i know its important to sell maps after all... but Im pretty sure lil effort to reach a bit more realism will bring alot more than you think for yourself in the long run. have a good one and GJ keep it up!
