Ok so I felt HoO was unrealistic cause no one important died, esp Hazel, Leo and Frank. Any sacrifice from them would have made the series perfect, bittersweet and beautiful. But Jason Grace? He surely had the fate of a hero!Dying when he had so much potential, dreams that he wanted to achieve, and after breaking up with his girlfriend! You know, I’m really starting to believe names HAVE power in that universe. Percy lives a perfect happy life thanks to his namesake’s blessing, while Jason sacrifices himself as if Jason I’s karma affected him despite all his heroic acts I’ve never liked him better than Percy, but his death still struck me so hard 😭😭

@@YceSyyou know, sometimes life just suck, right? There’re times when everyone finds a way to live, and times when someone, especially those who have many unachieved dreams, just have to die. It’s so sad😢 And Thalia too. Imagine her finding out that she lost her brother for the second time. Remember Percy saying his life could pretty much be summed up with “because Poseidon”? Well, I think Jason’s can be summed up with “because Hera” (any son of Zeus/Jupiter’s life can be summed up with those words for that matter) (And I’m kinda ok with the whole lgbt thing, but I don’t feel it’s necessary for Piper to have a girlfriend. She can still “find who she really was” and be unique while being “normal”, like, love Jason and all. It’s just how the thing is perceived. Maybe Hera and Aphrodite did force the relationship upon her, but after learning the truth, she still decided to stay with him cause she truly love him. If she had looked at things differently, Hera’s doing is simply a chance for them to meet each other, etc. Now all the year of them being together, fighting together has really gone done the drain. But, alas, she lives her life as she has chosen to. Poor Jason. I hope he has a better fate in his next life, if he chooses to be reborn. Heck, as far as I know, he could even be Bianca’s little brother in his second life)

Just a thought: ToA showed us the exact reason why you should NOT want to become/be a demigod. Like, Percy told us that right in the first book, but since it always work out so well for him, we were under the illusion that a demigod’s life wasn’t so bad. Then ToA came and show us that Percabeth and Frazel were just the lucky few, and even the Lost hero trio - 3/7 from the great prophecy weren’t “chosen” enough to have a happy ending (P/s: also there’s a theory that Jason might have made a move on Piper and that caused their break up. I think this theory is pretty well-grounded. This would make their breakup more acceptable, esp after the last events in the Blood of Olympus. And this would instinctively push Piper away from boys too, so that she won’t be in such dangers anymore. Anyway, unless something canon says otherwise, I’m going to accept this headcanon)

The first line we ever get in the Riordanverse is about how crazy it is to be a half-blood yet we see Percy and the rest winning anyway so we think it's not as bad as he describes. But in the Trials of Apollo, we see the negative side of it and adds a more serious tone to what Percy told us in The Lightning Thief intro. Alsoo about the theory about Jason... that's something I never thought about. I honestly feel like their breakup was prompted because Piper was trying to sort through her life especially with her moving into a new high school and her Dad's issues because of Triumvirate Holdings so I guess she just needed a time to breathe which is why she broke up with Jason. She needed more me-time. Thanks for sharing the theory! :DDDD
