    Awesome job on this video!! You covered so many granular details. I never thought about bumping up the trolling motor speed to help pick up slack.
    I think the only thing of significance I do differently are:
    1. I use my trolling motor to troll S shapes. Inner lures slow down, outer speeds up to help trigger following strikes. I don't troll in a straight line. For my boat, any trolling in the 3 mph & up, the trolling motor works as a rudder & steers on a calm day without even being on I'll set my speed so the trolling motor is only on a 2, maybe 3 to do the steering.
    2. I don't let a random amount of line out, but measure it somewhat. I don't typically have line counter reels so I'll sweep the rod down the side of the boat. "3 sweeps is about X feet" for example as my general guide. That way, if I get a strike, I know how far out I am with all the rods & can get them back out the same length again. It lets the bait run the same presentation over & over when it's working.
    Really good video!!!

    Interesting tip about using electric up front. Surprised you use those plastic rod holders, been fishing for the big boys since the late 80’s and never trusted them.
    Hate to loose that fish of a life time due to equipment failure. You sure know
    your stuff, great video, Cheers from Canada 👍

    For deeper waters do you use any weights to get it down there?

    • @InTheSpread
      @InTheSpread  Год назад

      No, the lures will get down. You just have to run the right lure to reach the depth you want. Obviously, covering different depths will help.
