I like what John Oliver said turning down an OBE when he was offered, “I really don’t want this....OBE, the BE part of that is a hell of a thing to want after your surname.”
I especially love Benjamin Zephaniah’s reason of decline the most.

After watching the John Oliver piece on the monarchy, I'm not sure how I feel about people accepting these. I mean, I'm not sure I'd want to be in the same "club" as some of the people who had accepted the MBEs.
Good On You Adam, all three of you deserve MBE's together you've changed the perception of what a ''disabled'' person is, not a problem to be dealt with but a contributing factor to a better life all around. We live with our ''disabilities'' and yet we can still find the JOY in Life that is available to all. Thanks for being a part of that Joy. !

@@LesleyBeswick As of Dec 2022, Hills was granted permanent residency in the UK. With the permission of the relevant government, the UK Government can recommend Commonwealth citizens for UK honours, including a CBE.
@@willienelsongonzalez4609 I know - but you cannot have two Nationalities. He has to revoke his Australian Citizenship to get a Gong.
