Fabtech is a huge show but I made this video just to give you a sample of what it is like.
The only thing better than the Fabtech exhibits is the friends you make and get to see at each show going forward.
Being around so many like minded people can really give you some renewed energy.

"It's hard to find a skilled worker who wants to work 40 hours a week." It's hard to find an employer that wants to pay a decent wage. Thanks in part to you Jody I landed one, after flipping through a sea of companies that want experienced welders for fast food wages.
I totally agree with wage. I don't know how much a robot is. I bet a skilled welder could work there two to four years at a good wage before they pay off the bot. Also I bet paying your insurance monthly is a hell of a lot cheaper than when the bot breaks down. Just saying.
@@albertpierce6263 Im sorry to say that is not true these bots are getting very reasonable and employers cant find enough skilled welders so they have no choice. Its the same for many manufacturing Jobs now days Robots are much cheaper to own and operate.
@@MrCubflyer take the error out of the skilled worker and pay an engineer to program. I get it I'm lucky that in what I do a robot or CNC could never do it. I guess not never, you would still have to have a skilled person to do set up, pressing and put it all back together.
@@albertpierce6263 Nope
@@willysnowman been awhile but I don't know how we as Americans can rely on China built parts to produce American made parts. Trades are dieing. I have five kids 3 girls and 2 boys. I'm going to teach them the skill of manual machining, without that skill who will design fixtures, tooling ext. If there is no one in the shop that understands how to machine, the machining industry is going to go downhill. Books can tell you a lot, and machines can tell you a lot. If you don't have a Machinist mind set you will not be a very efficient CNC programmer or parts puller. Just my opinion. I can get within two tenths on any of my manual machines. Just saying quality control better be top notch.
I don't weld much anymore but I wanted to stop by and say thank you for all of the great content you have generated over the years and how helpful much of it has been to me. So thank you! And have a great Christmas.
We’ll thanks bro. Hope all is well out on the water. Merry Christmas to you too
Appreciate you takin the time Jody! God Bless my friend!
That’s me!! At 1:05 lol Had i great time at FABTECH 2022. Was a pleasure meeting you and JD and thank you for your advice!!! Hopefully I bump into you around 😂😅
1:06 oops
The laser welding is legit stuff. A company i do work for does stainless and steel electrical panels for busplugs and big breaker systems. Laser welder is quick and strong, surprisingly. I would love some content on it. They have the same machine, and they stiched some 1/4 316 ss and it was hard to break apart. Like how small it is you as a welder. i feel knows its easier to break those welds, but they were super strong. Thank you for your content. It got me through high school now, and cwi with 12 years of experience. still watch you. 🧡🧡
Amazing technology at Fabtech 2022. Good video, Jody! Thank you
Jody's a national treasure. Year in and year out sharing valuable information and making excellent videos to boot. Thanks for everything Jody. I'll buy everything I can from your store when it's time for new gear. Happy holidays amigo.
thanks very much
It took me a long time to find something I love to do that will make me money, and that thing is welding. Once that hood drops I’m more calm, confident, and focused than I’ve ever been. It’s the closest thing to therapy for me, so I don’t think I’ll be using a cobot any time soon. Now, if they make a cosaw or cogrinder, I’m all in. 😆
This was my first fabtech, I was overwhelmed I met jd at fireball tools booth and I even saw you. But I had tues and wen and had to be back at work in San Francisco on Thursday. I need more time to take it all in.
Thank for the video. I order furic cups from your website because of videos like this. The guys that weld in the shop love them.
I wasn’t leaving fabtech until I met ya. And sure enough as I was giving up hope I turned the corner and there you were. You did not disappoint. Such a sweet heart with a wealth of knowledge! You got me through a lot of hard times in welding school and welding in general. Fabtech was awesome..can’t put it into words. Vast. Definitely something everyone should check out at least once. Rock on 🤘 Jody!! Great video!
Thanks for posting! Yes, on Cobots.
Thanks for the video Jodi! I really enjoy watching the different things in the Tig welding world.
I'm using a 2k watt laser welder for about a year now and it has pretty much entirely replaced my various tig and mig machines in terms of daily use. It's pretty insane what it can do. I have it wired so it does not need to be grounded to fire - allowing me to do things I couldn't otherwise. Especially spot welds. Maybe not OSHA approved....
Yo! I was there too! Super cool experience to go to fabtech. Got to see almost everything he showed here!
Thanks for another great video Jody. FabTech was on my to do list for quite a while now and 2022 was the year and I have zero regrets. Great expo and people and networking.
yes sir...it was a great time
We have 2 TIP TIGS at my shop. These machines are worth there weight in gold. Just an excellent machine. Keeps heat input way down and speeds up welding time.
It’s a Very impressive process.
Thanks for taking us with you. Fantastic vid.
Jody thanks for the Fab Tech tour and the torch information I will be heading to the store to pickup some torch kits and am looking forward to a more visible welding experience. Also thanks for all the videos I am more of a small project/hobby welder and all the information helps.
I always look forward to your fabtech video, Jody. Thank you!
Man Fabteck is on my bucket list. Thanks for providing such a great tour. Mery Christmas Jodi.
Jody, thanks for a look through the Expo! It was really interesting to see all the new technology coming down the pipe, and will eventually get Down Under in Australia! Tough video to make, but you succeeded in covering many things and kept it interesting. Cheers mate!!
Thanks for your videos. I'm new to welding and watched a bunch. I just bought my first welding machine as well as a Tig Finger. Too bad the seller, Baker's Gas is dishonest and didn't honor their Baker's Bucks deal. There are dishonest people everywhere. Love your videos
Wow, this vid has highlighted just how far behind the rest of the world Australia and New Zealand is. We cant even get a fraction of what you shown.
Thanks Jody, I enjoyed this as well as your products!!
Clear concise and good advice. Thanks Jody.
Thanks for all the great content 💯....I really appreciate every video. I trying to get into aero space and your tips and tricks help so much.💯🐓💪
Thanks so much Jody! Always good to see you!
Good to see you brother
GREAT Stuff :: FabTech & the educational advertisement . . . . THANKS !
Really nice overview from the show! Definitely on my list to do someday

I am envious of your opportunity to go to FABTECH! Tim
Thanks for sharing. Miss ya'll on the podcast...
Love so much your videos !! Thank you!
Beautiful welds
Thank you Jody!
I always enjoy your videos, Thank you for sharing.
Very informative video. Thank you for sharing. I'm planning to get into welding business and this video was great and super helpful. Well done and thanks again.
Thanks for the info!
I wonder if this old Tony was there, or maybe just his hands?
That was pretty awesome.
Nice content thanks for taking time to show
Thanks for your time.
All I can say is wow!!!
Thanks Jody i would love to make fabtech one day.
Another Great video Jody
GREAT VIDEO JODY, THANKS FOR SHARING
I would definitely be interested in learning more about the LightWeld content!
Miller electric had the best cobot weld package in my opinion.
As usual, great info
So much innovation it's awesome to see
Thanks Jody
Thank you for showing.Wish my company would send some of us.
12/6/22. A+ on your Fabcon '22 video, absolutely excellent! Why? It's your 'zap-to-the-point' style of video engineering close-ups & full-view with 2-the-point voice over...including your personal experience & awareness of certain individuals background...like that of Jason at Fireball (a quick history review) & few other guys..
I did not count # of booths you recorded, but it was many..+10..each review was short & indeph..& great. Again your style of 'zap-2-t-point'. Great editing, lighting & sound control.
Then 2nd 1/2 of this video was tech info on your WeldMonger store, offerings & again...those EZ-2-see camera close ups of equipment (tig torches, lenses, adapters) & real time welding/'puddle' control then normal lighting look at finished product.
Ya know, not everybody making these YT videos has the 'big picture' of 'zap-t-point' & chronology of process resulting in a bit faster pace of presentation..without soo much talk/yap/banter with employees or other parties ( their dogs!).. So, have you ( your son?) considered offering a pro video 'focus' service?..just a thought 4 you...since your say you are getting a little older...eyes/body are no longer 22 yrs old...but son, your video making brain is 🔥 hot! LoL!👍👍👍👍🔧🛠⚙️💪🍺😊
thank you very much.
I don't subscribe to just anyone, but to people I do, they appear to be friends (Jason, Fireball tool). Awesome :)
👍 thanks for sharing
I just got a small profax positioner.. So far so good. I’d say it’s quality. would be nice to have the option to select speed controlled or plain on/off with the foot petal.
Lot of good equipment . I'm quit sold Prime welder is the best buy, Jim
Thanks for thes video. Very Amazing 👍
greatest welder, great video. greetings from frankfurt, elmar
Really nice video
Love the content👍👌🇦🇺
Nice 👍
Nice Video Sir thanks
Thanks! I'd be very interested in seeing the laser welding footage you got.
AWESOME
my master, sincerely, I love you, I rarely watch your videos, although our Turks are not as knowledgeable as you
In my shop I am definitely starting to replace lack of skilled people with machinery .
Great vid Jodie - this new tech stuff gives me the horn!!!! Apart from the cobots.. Not sure if it's people not wanting to work 40 hours a week but the plant owners making cobots work 168 hours / week for a lot less wages than a person working 40... Automation began many decades ago and there's no avoiding it in the drive to increase profit...
Must…. Get… all of it!
Weiler is best imo over all
Thanks for the insight... hard to go to all the neat stuff like this. And THANKS for the Jazzy #10 cup in my last order. By the way, could you do a 200amp series welder doing Dual Shield? Seems 200a might be too low power???
Love these videos ty. @ 34 can I go to school and still be successful in welding or is it saturated? I have over decade of industrial manufacturing in a foundry setting and cnc manufacturing.
I want to than you for this.... I wished I had known some were gonna be there. I was to be there but work is crazy ATM....
Is there any real benefit to the not-clear cups if you have all of the hardware anyway? I am having trouble seeing any reason you might use them.
so far my experience with a FRONIUS wire feed tig welder, is not great. it's very much dependent on having the settings just right, but i find it only useful on long linear welds...it's not very maneuverable. it gets in the way basically.
Hi Sir. I'm from the Philippines and I just finished a vocational course for welding(SMAW) this month. I'm 30 years old at the moment and this is thefirst time I learned welding. I'm just wondering if its too late for me to make welding as a career/source of income? I really like your videos especially the 6G series, it helps me a lot when i take my test for 6g so much thanks for that series. I hope you can answer my question. Thanks and much love from the Philippines.
Hopefully I can make the best fabtech down there. You attend every time they have it in georgia?
Is there really any difference in tungsten (same size and type) at 9 bucks for ten or 29 bucks for ten of them?
What was that magnet brand?
Fit up Gear fitupgear.com/

Well, I sure missed a lot at the show, darn it. Too many things to look at.
Nice video thanks LARRYMOORE
Are you guys doing the wttp anymore?
👁️😎👍
man i work 55 hours a week at 21 dude where are these shops that need workers
10:30 hahahahahah
I knew you would catch it
Does it start with B and ends with a G?
Notice how no one is working on a Grinding robot
The problem isn't finding skilled people that want to work. The problem is finding skilled people that want to wreck their backs, knees, eyes, and hands for $20/hr, a week of vacation and crap health Insurance.
Love all the videos always give good advice I am new to RUclips but always learning from your videos been welding 10 years I just posted video on page wanted to see if you could check it out and tell me what you think.
7:48 Like music, NO, a SYPMPHONY to my ears.
Who the hell works a short 40 hour week ?
I wouldn’t know how to act if I only worked 8 hours a day and I’m 56 !
Thanks Jody sure do appreciate it
They're making a big deal out of that wire feed Tig we were running wire feed TIG and food processing in the early 90s bro you could set one of them things up to slang 300 in a minute building a thing called a breto unit high speed blending in pulveration units if you're 25 years and older you've eaten off one of them so anyway back to Tig I don't see how y'all use those foot pedals obviously not doing production tinking around at a table or something but you're not climbing frames you're not crawling inside of a tapered tank and Welding with one of those things we had the wire feeders set up with a thumb throttle and a tapping device to initiate the wire feeder
They'll record anyone in these videos 4:12.
