Hi, Madalyn. As a new writer of different fictional stories. Your summary to the shows and episodes is very educational. II have just discovered your channel after doing my own reactions on my channel. It's refreshing to listen to your re-cap.

When it comes to the black cat I have 2 theories. One is a Matrix reference where they use a black cat as a symbol of Deja Vu. Could be symbolizing the constant loop that Tonkla seems to be in with Korn.
My second theory, which is also influenced by the fact that I have now seen episode 2, is that it’s a reference to Edgar Allen Poe’s short story The Black Cat. Not sure if you know it but (in short) it’s about a man’s decent into alcoholism and how the black cat became a symbol of the monster the main character became as he got further into his addiction.
Not sure if either of these hold up but they are just what came to my mind when thinking about it.

I’m so happy you commented! I’ve been hoping someone would come theorize with me 💕
I haven’t seen episode 2 yet or read that particular short story, but it’s very interesting! Also curious how they really emphasized the cat’s shadow, when Great & Tyme’s shadows are also heavily emphasized in the trailer and in the shower poster… I don’t know what that connection could be, but the comparison is kicking around in my head.

@@drama.landia Yes I absolutely love throwing out random theories. The short story might be too dark for you, I know in the past you have said that horror isn’t for you, but the shadow is actually what made me think of it. In the story, the man hangs the family pet (the black cat) in a fit of alcohol induced rage. Immediately afterwards, his family home burns down and all that is left is one singular wall which you can see the shadow of the cat on. There is more to the story that my brain is linking to things in ep 2 which I won’t go in to since you haven’t watched it yet.
