سماعي نهاوند، تأليف روحي الخمّاش- الملحّن والفنّان القدير الّذي وصل لاجئا إلى العراق بعد النكبة الفلسطينيّة وساهم بشكل كبير في نهضة الموسيقى العراقيّة المعاصرة بعد الفراغ الفنيّ الّذي شهده العراق بسبب هجرة الغالبيّة العظمى من الموسيقيّين العراقيّين اليهود إلى الكيان الصهيونيّ في نهاية الأربعينيّات ومطلع الخمسينيّات
ويشرّفنا ويسعدنا- في فرقة طرب- أن نقدّم هذه الّلوحة الموسيقيّة بقيادة د. علي عبد الله، المثقّف والفنّان العربيّ الكبير في أستراليا، والّذي تتلمذ موسيقيّا على يد روحي الخمّاش ثمّ عمل معه لفترة طويلة

Samaei Nahawand, composed by Rawhi al-Khammash; the iconic artist and composer who came to Iraq due to the Palestinian nakba and contributed to the revitalization of the contemporary Iraqi music after the huge vacuum created by the migration of the Jewish Iraqi musicians to the zionist entity in the late 40s and early 50s.
We, in Tarab Ensemble, are thrilled and honored to present this magnificent piece led by Dr Ali Abdullah; Tarab Ensemble's mentor and the renowned Arab intellectual/ artist in Australia, who learned from, and worked closely with Rawhi al-Khammash for decades.
