    For everyone with a USDM/Canadian 2007-2008 Honda Fit, just got this to work with my car.
    Open the kick panel where the hood latch is and you’ll see a harness above it that you need to tap into. Wire your ground wires all to a ring connector and bolt it to the 10mm holding the hood latch.
    Wire unlock wire to white/blue wire on the car, wire lock wire to white/green wire on the car. For power, I used a fuse tap and tapped into fuse 28 (door lock).

    Saying thank you is an understatement. Thank you ever so much. I just did my car jazz 2003 exactly the same but I used the plastic scotch wire splicer which worked great. Without your video and the fact I don't have a multimeter and don't know which is which I wouldn't have been able to do this job. Got tired towards the end and didn't bother about the indicators light :)

    Sorry for the stupid question but in terms of connecting the wiring, and removing the insulation and putting it into the connector, should the old wiring be kept in? I'm struggling to remove the wires going into the connector in the first place (trying with pliers). I don't suppose you have any tips for that?

    • @amp9438
      @amp9438 3 года назад +1

      You could always try something like ScotchLok type connectors to tap into existing wires. I soldered as didn't have them. But to remove wires from the actual connector usually the pins have a clip which needs to be pushed down to release them from the connector housing. So a tiny screwdriver slid down side of the wire usual works to release them.

    Been fighting with all the diagrams for over a month with no resolve. Just found your video was thinking that this was not possible to do, but I can see you have figured it out. I can understand everything your talking about although I live in north America so the drivers side is reversed, but I want to know what is the deal with the black wire. Is that connected to the battery negative or frame ground? I know the 2x yellow wires are ground and im assuming the white wires are tapped into the wires coming from your main control switch on the door, Red is 12v+. Plus what should I do with the 2 orange wires. I see you have removed them. Any info would be a major advantage to my situation. Oh and my car is a 2007 honda fit. Thanks

    • @amp9438
      @amp9438 4 года назад +1

      The black wire and yellow ones go to battery neg or ground, doesn't matter I think. Orange wires weren't required so I removed them as the car uses a negative trigger.

    why did u choose the blue connector below the fuse box for power and ground ? i think u showed before on the video , that there's power and ground in the white connector on the door ( where the unlock and locking wires are essentially ) , so why u needed to find this blue connector for ground and power ?

    • @amp9438

      From what I remember I needed a permanent 12v for the module so took it based on a suitable fuse, i.e. the central locking one. You probably can use another permanent 12v if you can find one.

      Hi. I just stripped the insulation off the wires and soldered onto them. Didn't bother with wiring tapping as don't have the kit. Could you not have put the negative to the bodywork? I found if you use a safety pin with the little loop at end, you can use it as a temp probe and just push into the sockets and then decide whether it's right or not...then splice into the wires if all OK.? All negative connections go from battery to body. ?

    • @amp9438

      Yes that will probably work. I chose to use the wiring in case there were any issue with the grounding to the car body, i.e. higher resistance etc.
