    The Punjab University Library hosted its monthly Book Club program with great enthusiasm, showcasing two remarkable books: The Lords of Finance: The Bankers Who Broke the World by Liaquat Ahamed, and the Urdu poetry collection Kuliyat-e-Sarwat by Sarwat Hussain.
    The event commenced with an engaging introductory talk on The Lords of Finance, delivered by Abid Raza Khan, Assistant Professor at Punjab University's School of Economics. Mr. Abid captivated the audience with his insightful explanation of the book’s themes, exploring the key historical events and financial decisions that led to the Great Depression, and how they continue to influence the modern economic landscape.
    The second book, Kuliyat-e-Sarwat, was presented by Mushtaq Ahmed, Lecturer at the Institute of Urdu Language and Literature. Mr. Mustaq Ahmed’s insightful commentary explored the various dimensions of Sarwat Hussain's poetry. He discussed the poet's reflection on both joy and sorrow, his deep connection with nature, and even his contemplations on death. The lecture highlighted the emotional depth and philosophical richness of Sarwat Hussain’s work, resonating deeply with the audience.
    The program drew a large audience of students and faculty members, all of whom appreciated the intellectual discussions and literary reflections shared by the speakers. The event successfully fostered a spirit of learning and dialogue, encouraging attendees to explore both economic history and the profound artistry of Urdu poetry.
    The Punjab University Library’s Book Club continues to offer a dynamic platform for literary exchange, contributing to the academic and cultural life of the university.
