The Prisoners of Technology dub plates that Nikol had were out of this world. Back then those tunes weren't even released. The mixes were on point. To think in 1998 those MC's were even getting a shot at the big time was criminal. Riko Dan was on point and so was Eksman. It takes me back to days when they were all on Pressure FM 100.4. You're right it's one of my favourite sets.
Big up!! Shouts out the Atomics crew!! Maidstone had a great DNB scene back then. I love your comment it's exactly what we did when we listened to station from South London or West London.
This is a re-recording from the original tape I recorded of the set in the studio and re-broadcast when there was an empty slot on Cyndicut... Can tell by the buzz over the top which we had some problems with back then, but didn't on the live set, plus the end and fade out is the end of my tape lol
Love the knowledge you have on this subject. You lived it, breathed it and dedicated your time to it. Miss those days and the energy pirate radio had on the scene. Big up DJ Dark One!!
Nicol always intrigued me he was a top DJ and in my eyes better than magistrate (back in the day they were always b2b) anyway around 10 years ago I was in the fm studio and he had a set at Saturday night at about 1am his block was surrounded by blank spaces as I’m sure you can imagine by 2010 the “concept” was dying out and stood there for what seemed like minutes just looking at his block all on its own and I couldn’t work out why he would want a set on the graveyard shift, my conclusion was that he wanted to be in the studio and have a mix without being disturbed and what better of a place I suppose, again another shame of someone with so much talent that deserves more recognition, him and magistrate really were prodigies at the time with they’re mixes and styles
Love your comment!! Nice insight into the pioneers of golden era. Nicol and Maj were joined at the hip. They had a label called Nam Musik. I think Nicol did make on Kool FM, in the late 2000s (around 2006). He's been off the radar for some 10 years. It all changed when DJ Majistate got signed by Logan D to Low Down Deep Recordings. Nicol was one of the best DJs his mixes on this set are sublime!! I rate him over most DJs.

This set is ridiculously great. The mixing is next level, track selection was out of this world for 1998 with tons of exclusives especially from DJ Magic and the Fresh Kutt crew. My my the MCs go nuts and totally obliterate the tracks. Riko Dan was always a seasoned pro and Eksman was always on point from early. Top set. Probably in my top 10 sets of all time this one.
@@skibumtechie4283 Massive respect!! It is a shame the rest was lost. The mixing is sublime. If you have any other sets we can upload or anyone else can send us some then get in touch with through our Facebook link. We have a few more sets of you on Cyndicut and I've been told we have a Kool FM set of you on there with Riko and Maj.
Agreed!! Since him and Herbzie were on Pressure FM 100.4 back in the day. We have tons of his sets on Rude FM and Ruud Awakening. Big up Scott you know your stuff. This set is one of the bests we have.
