@@LTV_inc I agree, I've been a NHRA fan for over 40 years, and most drivers are always happy to interact with the fans. About the only one that wasn't was WJ. Great driver, but not friendly at all.
My daughter and I got to meet you and Jeff at national trails. You guys was looking at a crazy s10. What a honor you was there. Thank you very much for saying hello
Beautiful 57s, hollywood nights, fav movie. As a kid l knew a guy in minneapolis named Bob Spandell. Very special painter and he gave us boys a ride in his '57 ford that was so special
As we watch ya'll taking the car for a drive,,, the only word I can think of to describe this '57 Chevy is PRISTINE. The car is pristine top to bottom, front to back. Whomever wins it will have a show winner and will be getting so many "thumbs up" they'll get tired of 'em!!
What the Hell !!! You 2 are like kids in a candy store. You 2 bring so much to the hot rod world. From racing to just having fun. God we love you all so much. God bless you and what you are doing for the kids!!!!
Dad drove a 57 4dr wagon, brother drove a 55 4dr sadan, and best friend of mine drove a 56 2dr hard top. 57 wagon gas fill was behind the license plate. 55 4dr was door on rear fender, and 56 you turn a part in the driver side tail light to drop it to fill the gas tank. 57 Belair and Nomad had the flap open in the tail light. Fun time's trying to put gas in cars at full service stations where I worked as a kid. You and Jeff have the best content and projects together. Love the banter.
Hey Clay, I am the one in line when you all signed the wrong names. That was the sticker pac I grabbed. Me and my daughter thought it was awesome. Awesome good time .....
Grew up about a mile and a half away from Jeff's shop, does my heart good to see that hot rod scootin around the same roads me and my old Cutlass did. Thanks for sharing the adventure!

I had a 57 2dr hard top, 210, tinted windows, 265, 3 dpd overdrive, I bought from a retired mailman who bought it new. And I agree, I've seen many versions.
This is for Clay I cannot believe we never met I drove for 45 years I drove Nitro cars . My time was up short I am a paraplegic now' Have fun with your live and keep it safe Gary
Wow!! That 57’ is absolutely beautiful!! I don’t think I’d be able to drive something that nice as far as you guys did. I’m not worried about my driving but my luck some douche would crash into me😂
Thank Clay and Jeff for taking us along with your cool tour !. So much envy the car fans in US for having such an amazing and great car show in the country. PS: You should put some temporary cup holder on 57 when you go out for tour ! 😁
Hey Clay--- As I remember it back in my younger days, the Chevy hood and trunk emblems were as follows--Chevy emblem was 6 cylinder, chrome V was 283, gold V was "Power Pack" (4bbl) 283. And just for a matter of record, the '55 gas door was on the driver side rear quarter up just ahead of the taillight, and the '56 was behind the taillight. I'm 75 so I was driving (or pushing--I'm a Ford guy) those cars when I started driving. I had a '56 2dr. hardtop with that tricky little spring loaded rain flap you were showing on here. I had that car in '67 and when the 6 cylinder blew up in Bath, Maine I didn't have the $15 to get it towed off the highway so I let the tow company have it !!
Awesome video clay and Jeff 😊 Thank you so much for sharing I've been 2 1 power tour and I can't wait to go to another one Thank you for sharing with us the amazing 57 😊
Love every bit of it Clay Jeff project X you look right at home in that clay you’re wonderful. I watched you whole career bracket racer by heart ranch car is a 57 Chevrolet. Well. After all that's been happening with Nascar. I believe finally NHRA is about to be the new king of motorsports. All the major networks better pay attention. It's people like Clay that NHRA needs. John won't be here forever and has done a great job with promoting this great sport. Definitely one of a kind. But to you Clay, I have met you a few times and always a genuine and humble Man. Thank you for carrying the flag for the next generation.

57's used to be my favorite car of that Era. Until I started watching @Street Racing Channel and saw more and more of the 55's they have. Billy picked up one of the prettiest mid 50's I have ever seen. This one runs a close second though for sure next to Alex and Dennis Taylors dnd build. Wear bars on the front pads will make squeak like that too. Drag n Drive = racing Power Tour = product placement car shows
@@claymillican25 I enjoy em all. even the ones that go against my opinions. You are one of the true heros left in the US of A beyond our service men and woman sir!
That is beautiful, love mid 50s Chevy's. Here in the UK,if a car wasn't originally fitted with belts, you don't have to retrofit them. Personally I probably would,I whacked my head on the windscreen when I spun on cow crap on a side road probably around 50yrs ago.
Awesome content.. Not trying to be a downer, but on Project "X", the passenger side rear sode chrome looked loose.. Might mention that so it remains the MOST ICONIC automobile ever built..
Everybody's worried about who will be the spokesman for NHRA when Force retires. In my opinion that needs to be clay. He truely is the people's champ and NHRA needs to thank their lucky stars to have an ambassador like Clay in their series. I do have a question for you though, Clay. Why do fuel cars run a hard tail suspension instead of something like a 4-link?
@31:08,, Clay,, "Ya know what's weird? No seat belts." Add to that NO CUP HOLDERS! I have an '84 Eldorado Biarritz and if I could bad mouth anything about the car it would be - - NO CUP HOLDERS.
I grew up in the hay day of 55-57's. Everyone has always said the 57 was the prettiest, but if you look at the progression of car design in the '50's, across brands, there was a steady progression from the WWII years when cars were long & narrow, rounded & curved & didn't change for 3(?) yrs. By 50-51, the cars had shortened & widened, but were still round & curvy & plain, (what trim there was & the lights were small... carry-over from war years.) Then, as the economy grew, the cars showed it. Boxier, bigger trim & lights & a tip of the design cap to the Jet/Space Age, (fins). By 55, fins were a suggestion & chrome was minimalist. By '57 fins & chrome peaked. In '58 the fins folded over & in '59-'60 were all out, but horizontal. Myself, even though I had a '57 2 dr wagon I loved, (also had 55's & 56's), my eye has always preferred 55's. Even in the Chev pick ups. I had a '59, which was a '55 w/ dual headlights, everything else interchanges. The '55's single lights looked better, cleaner. Re: gas fillers 55 had a side flap 56 & 57 had it behind tail light Re: hardtops/sedan(posts) We preferred the sedans cause they were lighter. PS: A '57 Pontiac hood fits on a Chevy & as no 'bullets', the 'clean look' is sweet.

I would either put a procharger on the 55 with a bigger motor and the other thing I would do is maybe a 572 with some nitrous but with clay and Jeff doing this project it don't matter we all know it's going to be a bad ass ride
The sedan was used for drag racing because it was lighter. It took more metal in the roof for the hardtop. The hard top was sexier though. The straight six had the Chevy emblem, it was on the trunk like the one you have on the grill. The 265 V8 had a chrome V on the trunk and on the hood, the 283 had the gold V on the trunk and on the hood.
Put a Bluetooth connection in it, put some lap belts in it. Send it on down the road. Unless you drop a LSX 427 in it. Then you have my attention. Make it out of sight until the bonnets popped. BOOM! 427!
If everyone in the NHRA had Clay's attitude it would be a much better organization.
Angelle Sampey, John Force, Don Prudhomme, Tony Schumacher, Brittney Force… where have you been?

I do have a question for you though, Clay. Why do fuel cars run a hard tail suspension instead of something like a 4-link?
A 4 link would require a driveshaft with universal joints. I don't think there are any universal joints available that can take the torque.
