    What a great piece of history. Smart getting a copy of that journal, I bet they will be harder and harder to find as the years go on. Its in great condition too.
    I've never heard of the sharpening stone until now, pretty wicked, I'd love to check it out one day.
    When you get a chance to come dig sunstones w/ me, I'll take you over to Hart Mtn to see if we can find some porcelain jasper. One of my favorite places to explore, lots of land and variety there.
    The Wild Turkey is definitely on my list, those pieces you sent me were premium ^^
    Thanks for the shout out man, I totally need to get up there to explore.
    Great vid man, always appreciate the SNS

      We really want to get down there this summer to explore SE Oregon and hit up the sun stone digs. We should try to make this happen.

      They come out and go in a charger, so that would be another improvement that could be made over time, USB charging lights.

    Love being spoiled. Love benefitting from knowledge acquired from people that started years ago. Rock clubs have played a roll in my knowledge base. The oldsters have given me the benefit of their knowledge.

    Thanks for the video about Serpentine and other things . In Oxford Pa, where I live, every third rock on the ground is Serpentine. I pick stones up from my driveway and bring them in to cut .I will never run out of material. If you give me your shipping address I will send you some Pennsylvania Serpentine. I think it's the best. But what do I know..

    I like the term Available Advantages to Privileges as its "what you do with what you have" is not a detractor to "what you were able to do" as any detractor to what was done. My dad & grandfather went from Trains to This.

    We may consider ourselves spoiled but that was the intent of those building the repository we enjoy today, to give us a better understanding than they started with. And in the future our descendants can be the benefactors of what we build upon from the information handed down to us.

      @@CurrentlyRockhounding If I'm in the area, I can let you know. It would be great to meet, if that is what you are implying. But I want to have a bit more snow out of the mountains before my trip--perhaps. I'd like to stop to take pictures of some rocks in the lower Cascades too.

    Exciting! Hearing the mine is opening is great news. I get nervous when places close even if its seasonal. In this past decade i never knew who would not open again or if they did, when. Im always happy to check out other Creator content. Keep up the vibes and stay safe-ish out there.

    A multi band led wouldnt be too difficult to make.

    • @CurrentlyRockhounding
      @CurrentlyRockhounding  6 месяцев назад

      That was also said about the lights we currently have.

    • @benknrobbers
      @benknrobbers 6 месяцев назад

      @@CurrentlyRockhounding I actually looked into it last night. Was searching for components. Finding decent leds seemed like it might be problematic but not impossible. Maybe Alibaba. The biggest problem I see is form factor vs lumen output. COB leds have a better general light output but take a bigger footprint planting three cobs at one end of the flashlight would make the focusing of a beam difficult at best and would increase the diameter of the light. It would go from a pocket sized light to something closer to a 3 cell maglight rapidly. Going with traditional led bulbs you could keep roughly the same form factor but it wouldn't be as strong. Outside the box, you could limit to two bands and build a light that is double ended with separate controls and a shared battery.
