Mini-LED really is great even Sony this year announced it was ditching OLED because they couldn't get the brightness as high as they wanted and going Mini-LED for their flagship this year...
Got the 65" QM8 and your assessment is dead on concerning the quality and drawbacks for this TV. Love the clarity and brightness along with the Google TV OS, but the viewing angles are somewhat a problem as we have a bigger family and can't all sit directly in front of the screen, and for some reason my controller seems to have a delay periodically when cycling through apps or Google TV functions. Otherwise a great TV and a great value for the money.
What about older movies and TV shows because they always show this TV in 4k and in 1080 HDR and Dolby vision sure they're great but most shows don't have that that's what I'm worried about low budget TVs like TCL the key is upscaling Samsung and Sony that's what I would be worried about with TCL so it all comes down to what you watch on TV so how is the TV for low quality older movies and older shows.
I just got this exact tv and size and oh my gosh it looks amazing. It looks close to an OLED at times. What wall mount did you use? It’s kind of hard to find one that’s compatible with this tv.
Viewing angles are bad not because it's LED but because it's VA panel. I have a Hisense U8k 75 inch which has ads pro panel. Mini LED combined with ads pro panel it looks like an OLED from any angle. This will be the secret to 2024 models at least the high-end models like the ux which is an OLED killer.
2000 nits...who t.f needs that. I currently have a 98" Samsung Q80c & i sit 12 feet from it & at night its still lots of eye strain. Im selling this 98" for $4k & going back to Oled
My Sony Bravia 75" died at 5 year. Not worth the name. Sony didn't care at all to give me 1 penny off a new one. Went with this and couldn't be happier! Screw Sony

Probably???? Your own words prove that you are Ignorant, that you have No Clue what you are Talking about. TCL TV's have no issues Upscaling. I have watched TCM for 10 years on TCL TV'S and the Picture Quality is Outstanding. Playing Classic Movies on DVD's, Blu-ray and 4K looks Outstanding with no Upscaling issues. I bought a New $5000.00 Samsung TV and a $500.00 New TCL TV and the TCL TV I watched more because I liked the performance, the Picture Quality better. The Samsung TV was half as Bright as the TCL TV which greatly annoyed me.

Dolby vision is yellow on this tv and is not bright at all compared to HDR or SDR content. 75" owner of qm8 using both internal app and apple tv 4k.
I only go with Sony, Samsung, or LG when it comes to TVs. Still a great video.
My parents’ LG TV just died after two years! Brand name doesn't always make it better.

The series 4 at the time was their most entry level tv model out of all of their models. This is their top end model, it's not even comparable.
