I've found a blush that works as a rosy toned bronzer on my fair skin. It's a $3 Essence blush called Befitting. That's the color I turn in the sun! It looks similar to the Jones Road at a fraction of the cost.
Hmm, I have that one and I’ve forgotten about it! I think I’ll have to pull it out of my stash for tomorrow! I forgot how much I’d always loved that shade.
A little tip: most Pale Olive skintones can also really benefit from rosy bronzers and grey-purple contour. Long-winded explanation to do with the colour wheel: This is because most olive complexions come from a warm over tone and a cool undertone. ( creating a sort of neutral but slightly yellow/green cast to the skin). So when we apply a red/pink it can sometimes be balanced out by the green in the skin, and when we apply a purple/grey contour/blush/bronzer, the yellow of the skin balances the coolness of the purple hues. This is just because of where they are on the colour wheel (Opposites). This is also why orange tones and peach can look really strange on pale olive skin, any of the coolness of those products have to make them flattering gets cancelled out, and why so many true reds look bright pink, because the green counteracts the red. In general pale olive tones benefit from colours that have a touch of 'grungeiness' to them, somehow they just gets cancelled out and we are left with the colour underneath. A great example is Phytosurgence Condensate....I have never had a blush that looks as natural on me as that.
Oh my gosh! Thank you so much for this video! I have light skin with pink undertones, and every time I put bronzer on it just makes my skin look dirty or orange. You read my mind when you made this video. Thank you so much for all the options. I absolutely love your channel. You are so real and genuine. Thank you Jen! Liz
I’m a “light summer” blonde, blue eyes…this Lumi Bronzer (light) is amazing, no glitter at all for me….and my favorite deep bronzer is the Gucci 01 and 02, amazing. The compacts are worth the price but the bronzers are amazing on cool, light skin.
I got the Gucci bronzer due to an earlier video of yours when you mentioned it in passing. It’s expensive but it saved me money buying products i wouldn’t have been happy with.
L'oreal, Haus, Fenty do the best job with their undertones IMO. The cooler ones are rosy, not grey. The warmer ones are golden or olive, not orange. Great shade ranges, depths too.
Agreed!!! I usually go for cream/liquid over powders, but the Laura Geller baked formula is so good and it applies nice and smooth, not powdery or dry looking at all! I love it!! And a more affordable option is the Flower Beauty one is a great dupe for it! Same shade, same baked formula!
"Balm Desert" looks like the perfect "Goldilocks" color. Not too warm, not too cool. And I have never heard of the brand "The Balm". Definitely going to check them out! Thanks SO much, Jen. This was very helpful. ❤
This is one of the most helpful videos I’ve ever watched! Thank you, thank you for this overview of these bronzers because the struggle is real! I buy a bronzer, figure out it doesn’t work and it sits in my unused makeup bin. Your content is so appreciated.
I am definitely not fair or light skinned, so this video didn't really totally apply to me, but i love Jen's videos and always enjoy watching!! Thanks for all your amazing content, Jen!!
The Milani Bronzer is amazing, I don't always wear bronzer but when I do, it's this one or my other favorite, the Too Faced Milk Chocolate one, which to me is just dark enough to give my skin a hint of color without looking too bronzed or orange looking.
@@JenPhelps I am off social media for lent and I must say I really miss your FB group! I have been layering the tarte Park Ave over my Milani Hey Honey cream bronzer and I'm so in love, works for me, but I am definitely a darker tone than you. Thank you sooo much for all you do, you are like a little positive island in this world!
THANK YOU for doing this video. Your bronzer has to match your undertone. Once you know that, the struggle begins. Not being able to swatch and compare in store sucks. Your suggestions are very helpful.
I can’t figure out my undertone. I feel I have more pink in my skin since turning 52. I have no idea if that can change as we age. Please let me know if you’ve heard of this. I tan extremely easy ( I may burn at first but the next day it’s turned to a tan. I don’t want to pull anymore red in my face nor yellow tones. Ugh I am so confused.. I’ve been told I am a light/med neutral with a bit of cool/ neutral undertone. What color should I wear in blush and bronzer. I have blue eyes and dark brown hair. Help please ❤
Some indie brands do this really well! Phytosurgence has beautiful rosy bronzers in every tone. Salt New York has a really lovely fair bronzer. Not indie, but Bobbi Brown had a powder bronzer in stonestreet that's super flattering too. I think it might be like her new Jones road shade.
Love Phytosurgence!! Rituel De Fille has some great shades for blush for cooler toned skin! I’ve been eyeing the bronzers and blushes from Give Me Glow. They have some beautiful cool toned shades. But I usually prefer creams/liquids over powders and haven’t found swatches online from real people for them so I’ve held off, but I’ll probably end up getting 1 or 2 to try!
Bronzers are my favorite product and i have been looking for cool toned ones. I am warm but I like the look of neutral color on my face. Love this video!
I would add Nars Laguna cream bronzer shade 1. I have light neutral skin and it’s *stunning*, definitely on the cooler spectrum. It has a fragrance but it’s a light, yummy scent that goes away upon application. Holy grail and I’ll never be without it.
Same! I am medium cool tone and that Laguna 1 is just a perfect cream bronzer. Blends like a dream and has good lasting power. It's my favorite cream bronzer. Gucci Fair is my favorite powder bronzer.
The L'Oreal Infallible Bronzer in Fair is my favorite! I opt for a subtle bronzer when I wear bronzer and it's perfect for my fair, cool-leaning neutral skin.
The Flower Beauty Heatwave Bronzer and the Loreal Lumi Light Bronzer were the first bronzers that actually looked right on my face. I'm neutral with a touch more cool than warm, and orange bronzers just looked weird on me. I didn't realize for the longest time that there were cooler-toned bronzers out there. 🙈 This is a great list and video!
The struggle is real. I dont contour but i like bronzer sometimes. Im absolutely loving the new winky lux i found out about from you Jen. Is sooo pretty and easy to blend❤
I will use the Laura Gellar bronzer on my eyes as well. I pull the different shades in it out with my eye shadow brushes to create a natural look. Works great!
Excellent video, one of your best ever! Comprehensive presentation and review of cool-tone bronzers-especially the elusive and coveted rosy bronzer-clearly and concisely presented, across a range of formulas and price points. Really appreciate the swatch lineup; side by side comparison is very helpful. Thanks for making it so much easier to choose bronzers!
Thank you for explaining the differences between cool and warm with bronzers and concealers. This is new to me and I think it was very clearly explained. I am still in the beginner stage when it comes to foundation and concealers, bronzers. Still trying to figure out whether I should lean golden or cool for a foundation. Showing the differences between the two and using swatches placing cool and warm brands next to each other was very enlightening. I learned a lot from your video!!! Thank you.
I’m a light medium with warm undertones girl and watched this for your brand recommendations because they are always spot on. I use a Rimmel bronzer that’s real nice too.
Wow- the side by side swatches were so very helpful- really allows one to see the subtle differences! And now I must order that Jones Road Dusty Rose-stunning!!
Fenty amber shade is slightly different in stick form. The stick is a touch warm (but still quit grey) and the cream version is almost slightly greeny/yellow in undertone. But they are very similar. Thank you for the video and suggestions! So useful to see all the swatches!
I have light skin that has a peachy(neutral) undertone and the Laura Geller in Fair is the only bronzer that has ever worked for me. Others look orange especially when they mix with skin oils and the cool tones look like mud. The LG is just perfect, not matte and not too glowy.
Thumbs up, as usual. Way to go with a unique makeup video. I need pink undertones too. That Jones Road looks gorgeous. Her miracle balm has a dusty rose shade as well.
I use the flower beauty bronzer almost on a daily basis!! It’s so gorgeous! I have a light skin color with a distinct olive undertone. The cool toned flower beauty bronzer looks amazing on me any time but sometimes I blend it with the warm toned one after I get a tan in the summer.
This was such an easy to watch and understand video for me. I have been using one Bare Minerals bronzer for years. It is discontinued, and I need to go on the hunt for a replacement soon. Luckily, you have nearly the same skin tone and undertone as I do, so this video makes my shopping experience so much easier. Thank you, Thank you. Well, I purchased the Laura Geller in fair. It's just beautiful on me. Could be worn alone without blush, but gimme some blush. This probably won't create a bronzed goddess effect, but that is not for me. I am a happy camper.
Thank you for this video. I am quite fair. I don’t really use bronzer - as others have said, the struggle is real. Io haven’t even watched yet but I’m hoping something you review might suit me. I do have the Jone’s Road ‘pink’ one, but I’ve only given it a couple of practice tries at home. I do think, maybe surprisingly, it seems to ‘do its job’ quite well. But I’ve yet to see it in natural light/outdoors. Love your videos.
I APPRECIATE THIS VIDEO... BEYOND!!😘❤️ If you only knew the struggle my search bar, & all the makeup I've added to cart, removed from cart... searching for the PERFECT bronzer.. since last summer 😮💨 the struggle is real!! I love the sun!!🏖🌞 I just do! In the winter I'm light, in the summer light medium/medium.. but I don't like ORANGE... I like the rosey, pinky bronze!! THANK YOU JEN! YOU read my mind bc I still haven't found it. Maybe I will here!!🙏🏻🥰👏🏻 your makeup is GORGEOUS!!💄👑🧡
I LOVE the L'Oreal Lumi Bronzer! 🙌🏻 I'm a very light olive, and it's the only bronzer I've ever found that actually works on me. Plus, it's just so smooth and easy to work with, it's basically impossible to mess up. 👌🏻
Jen I just LOVE your content! You are SO incredibly THOROUGH and DETAILED which I truly appreciate, not to mention we have the same skin type & undertone! THANK YOU for ALL you do!
What an informative video. Think it was perfect the way you had them in order of price and being consistent with showing them on your arm. Definitely a keeper. Gotta go back and review and put a couple of them on my “to buy” list!! Thanks😊
This is the most helpful cool toned bronzer video ever! I am asian, I have light neutral skin tone and most western bronzers appear either yellow or orange on me. Went on research and found this video, decided to get the Laura Geller one. Received it today and OMG it is exactly what I'm looking for! Just the right amount of rosey tone, but also enough brown and warmth to make it a perfect bronzer for my skin tone, and the sheen is beautiful. Thank you for your content, Jen!
Great video Jen! The Laura Geller baked bronzer in fair has been in my makeup collection for 20 years it seems! Such a beautiful and long lasting product! Loving the ELF and L’Oréal as well!
Another informative video thanks Jen. Laura Geller now has Blush-n-Bronze which combines the benefits of both BnB’s in various shades. I also think the Charlotte Tilbury original bronzer in “light” suits my fair to light complexion!
A great powder bronzer for cool toned skin is the Rimmel Natural bronzer in the shade Sunlight. It has a lovely soft red undertone and looks very natural. It blends out like a dream and lasts. I also find it to be blurring. I often prefer it to my Guerlain bronzer, which was a go to of mine for years. Great video!
I like the Rimmel one, too. I feel like the brand is getting harder to find. My local stores either don't carry Rimmel or have a tiny sliver of shelf space for them. 🤔
@@robinallen8076 I am Norwegian, and the stores in the Nordic countries carry most UK brands. I knew that Rimmel has been more popular in Europe than in the US, but had no idea that it is that hard to find in the US. Too bad. Rimmel has some really good items.
@@hegetv2111 I can order many Rimmel items online here in the United States. My Walmart has a tiny display. I can find a slightly better selection at CVS & Walgreens but pay more b/c their prices are higher. Thankfully they still have their lipsticks that smell sweet & last w/out drying out my lips.💋
I use RMS Madins Blush as a glowy bronzer, so glad to see I'm not the only one that uses blush as a bronzer lol! Love the Loreal Infallible and Flower Beauty bronzers as well!
This was extremely helpful! I just discovered your channel a couple of days ago and you're already becoming one my favorite makeup influencers. You're so knowledgeable and I absolutely love how you break everything down in detail, take your time to show us, and also give both low & high end options! It also helps that your my skin tone and eye color, BONUS! I just received the Laura Gellar bronzer after I saw Mrs. Melissa M wearing it and saying that it was a cool bronzer! I got it for half price on Amazon! 🙏🏻 I can't wait to try it! Thank you so much for sharing this with us all. 😘🤗🥰
As always great company while I'm having my tea 🫖 This video was very helpful, I see that most bronzer shades aren't all the same especially the cool and warm tones. I'm a light skin tone... I have the Essence Matt bronzing powder 01 Natural - for lighter skin tones. I like this one it doesn't have any orange in it, but it does have a slight scent . Take care everyone 🌹
Hi Jen, I enjoyed watching this video, my daughter has a lighter complexion than mine ,so I was taking notes for options for her as well as for me. Love Katherine xoxo
Your makeup looks stunning. I’m very fair, and cool toned. I have the jones road and love it, but lately find myself kind of blending it because it can be a little more red than I would prefer. I also have the Patrick ta and milani. This video was so helpful, I’ve been curious about the Gucci one, but the Laura geller one looks like it would be perfect for me.
Hi Jen, I just love bronzers! It’s one of those products that I just can’t seem to get enough of lately! I’m fair with a neutral undertone (I think?? lol), but I tend to prefer the cooler tones in bronzers! Your videos are always helpful!
Thank you!!! I spent hours today at Sephora and Ulta and left with nothing because everything I went to swatch just pulled orange. Now I know what to look for! 🎉
Extremely helpful, a long awaited, up to date video about not orange bronzers, thanks a lot for your researching and coming up with so many valid options! ❤
My go-to is LA Girl's Just Blushing in the shade Just Because, I really don't know why they call it a blush honestly because it's a medium gray brown with slight pink undertones, which is perfect on my super pale/pink skin 😁
The Cover FX duo finish blush in "Sunkissed Bronze" makes a great bronzer. You can choose matte or luminous finishes or blend both together for a "glow from within" look.
Hey Jen! I love this! I'm saving this video for when I run out of my favorites, for the rare occasion when I want to defy the odds and play Malibu Barbie with my super fair, cool undertone and moody rosacea. Lots of pink going on already, so I've been using L'Oreal's Age Perfect Creamy Powder Foundation in the shade Chestnut as a bronzer. A true bronze, about 7 shades darker than the super light-toned one I use over my tinted SPF as a setting powder. When I top the Chestnut with the Radiant Satin Powder Blush in the shade Amber, I have what approximates a nice suntan with pinkish blushed high points and a bit of a pearly sheen. So much fun to play like this! Thanks for this video!
I’ve been a pro makeup artist for over 15 years and I’m always telling people with cool undertone - GET A COOL TONED BRONZER! So Thankyou for this video and thanks for some Recommendations that are new to me! Ps I love The Balm, such an underrated brand ❤
I like the In the Saddle Matte bronzing blush from Sigma. I got it on mega sale (Under $5) and it is a fav for me. Also, the MakeUp Forever bronzer in Marvelous Peanut is cool/neutral enough for me. I’m so close to pulling the trigger on the Jones Road pink bronzer! Thanks Jen.

A little tip: most Pale Olive skintones can also really benefit from rosy bronzers and grey-purple contour.
Long-winded explanation to do with the colour wheel:

Aww thank you Shannon!! I'm so glad it's helpful for you...yay!! 🥰🥰❤️❤️
I LOVE the L'Oreal Lumi Bronzer! 🙌🏻 I'm a very light olive, and it's the only bronzer I've ever found that actually works on me. Plus, it's just so smooth and easy to work with, it's basically impossible to mess up. 👌🏻
This video is genius. Thank you so much for this info!
Have you seen the new powder bronzers that NYX is releasing? They're very pink and red toned looking from the pictures. Intriguing!
Yes!! I can't wait for those!
Thanks Jen for the recs! I’m going to get that LA Colors bronzer for sure!❤
Jen I just LOVE your content! You are SO incredibly THOROUGH and DETAILED which I truly appreciate, not to mention we have the same skin type & undertone! THANK YOU for ALL you do!
Thank you! This was a super helpful video for us cool toned girlies.
What an informative video. Think it was perfect the way you had them in order of price and being consistent with showing them on your arm. Definitely a keeper. Gotta go back and review and put a couple of them on my “to buy” list!! Thanks😊
You have quickly became one of my fav go to for all things makeup. ❤🌞
Hallo Jen, Loved this I am neutral warm but this is so informative and going to be a great help for so many. Thank you
I use Persona Teddy as my bronzer, even though it's a blush.
I love watching you! You are just so refreshingly genuine and sweet. ❤
Great video Jen! The Laura Geller baked bronzer in fair has been in my makeup collection for 20 years it seems! Such a beautiful and long lasting product! Loving the ELF and L’Oréal as well!
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to showcase all the options. Definitely helpful!
Jen, this Video was Sooo helpful and informative, 2nd time watching this w my notebook lol. Tyvm for the great info !! Have a Blessed Weekend ❤
Another informative video thanks Jen. Laura Geller now has Blush-n-Bronze which combines the benefits of both BnB’s in various shades. I also think the Charlotte Tilbury original bronzer in “light” suits my fair to light complexion!
Fair skine blonde here, but oh, sallow. I need a rosy bronzer! Ty for this.
Stila’s cream blush in magnolia might work well as a bronzer with extra pinky tone for you fair skinned girls, with a pink undertone.
The struggle has been real trying to find a bronzer that I like on my skin tone! This video was very helpful! Thanks Jen for another great video!
Loreal Lumi Bronzer is nice and cool!
I have light neutral olive skin tone, and this is always such a struggle as most things turn orange on me! Great video!!!
Thank you!!! I spent hours today at Sephora and Ulta and left with nothing because everything I went to swatch just pulled orange. Now I know what to look for! 🎉
Thank you, pale & cool tone pink girlie here! I have bought & passed on soooo many contour/bronzers bc they are orange!
I just picked up the L'Oreal infallible bronzer because of your recommendation in shade fair I can't wait to try it 💙💛❤💚💜
I have a warm undertone and I loved the video OMG ❤
I just ordered that Laura Geller bronzer when it was on sale! I can’t wait to get it!
MOB has a wonderful rose colored bronzer! Powder is what I have and love
Yes. This is perfect. Also I have trouble finding the right brown color for me. ❤. This is a great series
Thanks Jen.
The Balm has a bronzer called Not Orange. It's a cooler toned bronzer with no fragrance. Doesn't bother my rosacea or eczema.
