He's one of the great composers and pianists of our day and age. Truly a sad, story, what happened. I believe he'll recover completely. It may not be quick but I believe it will happen with time.
Tom's original performance of this by sight is jaw-dropping. Now, watching in this way what he actually did is simply astounding. Thanks so much for doing this.
It wasn't by sight, except for the first run through of the melody and chords. Afterward, he picked up and understood the underlying structure well enough that he started improvising, using his accumulated library of skills and techniques learned over the years.
You know Tom really has a machine gun left hand when even AI blurs the octave jumps! Anyways, really awesome video! the first time I saw it I couldn't believe it wasn't a human player
It *is* relatively simple, only needing a synth as powerful as the SNES’s audio system to make something truly unique, powerful and interesting. Koji Kondo’s composition is second to none.
2:09 this is the best part for sure, tom brier not only played this, but first try, flawlessly. talent that has never and will probably never be matched
Nice transcription! A few things threw me off though. First it was the sound of the piano which was kinda midi like, but I could forget about that. I actually got confused by how the lights on the piano could differentiate between the left and right hand by turning blue or red. As I was trying to figure that out in my head I noticed the title said "played by an ai". I can't believe how realistic this looks. Even the little hesitations inbetween playing and the head of the player popping up slightly in frame sometimes. Well done!
On second watch, the piano is a little too perfect in frame too. The hands in the final few seconds also feel weirdly floaty. At this point I'm just pointing out flaws lol
@@Lightning_Bolt Thank you, I saw that one. The different pov and lighting shows it's an impressive build. I think the brier vid looks as good as it does because it gives less away.
oh my this is wonderful! I cried, only because of what an unfortunate tragedy it is to the world that he is now physically handicapped :(
Easily one of the saddest things I ever learned about in my life 😪

This is what got me into Tom and ragtime - now I'm a daily listener / player

The fact that this song HAS to be played by an AI because nobody can do play it the same as Tom Brier is just crazy.
It’s possible to play it it just gonna take a lot of practice
A lot of people can
@@apoxalypsewhen No they cannot play it like Tom Brier you useless nothing.
I can bro
@@BL4CKPILLER did you improvise it though? just the way he did?
Certain liberties were taken.
The one liner that foreshadowed Tom's major car crash
@@TheSilverShadow17nahh
@@DanHallow Well he's been neglected by his own family the past several years which says a lot

I totally took this song for granted when I first heard it in 92, thinking it's a simple melody and composition. Now it's a damn masterpiece!
It *is* relatively simple, only needing a synth as powerful as the SNES’s audio system to make something truly unique, powerful and interesting. Koji Kondo’s composition is second to none.
It’s like Tom Brier has muscle memory for each song already or each note already
the crazier thing is ,he never heard this song, he never played video games in his life
2:09 this is the best part for sure, tom brier not only played this, but first try, flawlessly. talent that has never and will probably never be matched
Its sad what happened to tom
Its also sad this sotware never went far, it looks like it could have been big.
The composer for the Mario music is a genius
Koji Kondo
omg that's so beautiful
such a banger omg
wow 44 thumbs down on a video that tributes a fallen ragtime god (every thumbs down is a curse to tom brier)
There's always gonna be those people man, sorry about that.
some people just dislike anything made with ai on principle
The only ai is the character model
realistic asf
Daaaamn first time watching it! A love that version of Tom! You played like a damn master 👏👏
Thanks for that, it was a journey just like tom one is
This isn't me its ai
@@Lightning_Bolt Wow i didn't notice it :O Damn AI is insane hahahaha
I saw it on the phone so I couldnt tell fake hands
thought hands were real until 1:47
3:07 ah, sh- here we go again
I have decided to be your 1,000th like lol
Tom Brier is such a Legend

This program is still in its early stages rn there’s no soundfont support
The play is Jon from Piano Guys but unfortunately he’s no longer available for this program
ruclips.net/video/1mLUtftnxEQ/видео.html i posted this a while ago its a non pov of the same program
@@Lightning_Bolt Thank you, I saw that one. The different pov and lighting shows it's an impressive build. I think the brier vid looks as good as it does because it gives less away.
AMazinh!!
I’m mad I didn’t hear this at Universal.
even the AI had a hard time this part 2:10
How does the AI come up with the fingering? It's actually quite good
when you say "by an ai", does that mean the hands are fake????? they seem real to me!
Yeah this program is like Synthesia but with a character model
You can check out the program in the description
ruclips.net/video/1mLUtftnxEQ/видео.html&ab_channel=FlasherBolt this video is the ai from a different veiw
same
@@Lightning_Bolt ok, I'll download it 🤣
This is amazing! Amazing transcription and I love seeing the AI hands play it lol
Do you have this midi file available for download somewhere??
Can be found on musescore
That’s not a real person playing? I like his yoshi island athletic club song too
WOW
Awesome !!!
Do you think its possible to make a tutorial of Mario medley from Scott Bradley ?
Thanks for your time !
Would need the midi since this program is similar to Synthesia
I wish there was a piano tutorial for this song
What do you mean this is literally one
this is the piano tutorial
Sounds great! Little too much sustain pedal I think
Not on me ai did that
@@Lightning_Bolt I thought so lol
This is seriously an AI?
I'm trying to track down some Ton Brief midi files.
You want Tom midi files? I have all the hand played ones and a bunch of transcriptions, email me and I can send them over!
so it is possible....
Yes this was originally played by tom brier
great video, but you need to fix that crackly audio
That’s impossible to do now that the program is dead

It's nice, but lacks the physicality of an actual piano.
Well played, but falls flat.
its an ai its not supposed to be real
this is synthesia if there was a piano player with it
The piano sound is terrible
@@PiotrBarcz they never added soundfont and never will
@@Lightning_Bolt yeah, they won't ever because the program and service have been shut down.
