the new business model revolves around hype if nike only makes 1000 pairs of xxx dunk they can guarantee they will all sell out pretty much making sure they spend the least amount of money and maximize profits. its all about hype cuz hype sells than it resells than it resells again. i would absolutely love nike to release like a regular all black suede dunk low, or something along the lines of that but those days are probably gone for good.

Great video! There are some rep dunks that are made waaayyy better than others. It would be worth doing a little research and comparing a really good rep batch compared to the OGs. I have wondered this same thing too! Great channel!

I Skate fake Dunks all the Time , they’re Great. There’s also different levels of Replica Quality,, from cheaper to higher end makes and materials and rather Exact Copys , sometimes they seem to be even better than the Nike distributed ones

The white weave pattern material on the left shoe lateral side is the quickest to check the difference. The FAKE one have a more long thin rectangle or in some are squarish pattern and the REAL one have a more rectangular brick laying tile pattern.
There was a fake 2019 Rayguns my brother tried skating , it feels almost the same. Fits just right and much better when he change the insoles into FP insoles. A friend told me the FAKE ones are made in different factories so that some may be good to skate and some are real that bad. For skate shoes I'll just buy the REAL ones and it doesn't have to be a hype one as long as it skates well and protect my feet.

As others have mentioned, if you do your research, there are definitely some high quality “fakes” if you know who to buy from. Sounds like you got a low grade tier. I have some reps that are legit 1:1. Not defending them or saying they’re all perfect, just pointing that out. But of course- the real McCoy should always be better. But with the resell market for dunks what it is and being a skater… at the moment how can anyone justify skating real dunks at the price they are going for only to tear em up in a month. If you’re dead set on skating dunks, buy reps.

These are budget reps. The flimsy sole is a dead give away. You can get a good quality reps that looks and feel the same as retail, but they cost more.
When i was in china, I have skated many fake dunks, around 35 usd each. I would just slap on a good insole and it was good to go. it was almost impossible to tell but the material was cheap. The out sole would wear out in 2 weeks only.

diff rep batches have varying quality. can't generalise cause some are of better quality than the og and some are barely related back to the og shoe.

Rep dunks are the best shoes that i have ever skated in, i just perform really good with them, insoles are comfy and soft.

I love Nike SB Dunks and skate good but I had to retire all mine cuz I caught a switch heel primo nasty and bruised my foot the middle part where you land primo so now I only skate Tyshawn’s adidas

Im thinking of my next pair of shoes to be DHGate Nike SB dunks because dunks are cupsole and I hate the way vulcanised hurts my feet (skating Nike SB Shane's rn), would you say the cupsole is still better protection than a normal vulc build?

They’re pretty good, the toe feels wide while the rest feels narrow it’s weird. I was skating those and emerica low vulc at the same time and it feels so bulky in comparison. The mids would be nice to try. The impact protection is that pop cush which isn’t bad.

You should have said a little bit more that these will cause heel, knee and back pain due to the bad quality of the shoe. I skated a pair of fakes, and Once landed primo while doing a 4 stairs handrail, and since then I got heel pain as soon as I do a little gap. Just buy them if you want to look fresh, don't if you wanna skate them

@@christianflores it always depends on the seller you buy from and what batch, I'm not trying to guide you to the path of evil that is reps, but ad a person who buys them and tells people no matter who they are that my shoes are fake, you can find perfect quality shoes to skate.
A good video would be to wear one of each for 6 months then report which lasts or looks the best.
See how easy you were able to fold over the shoe, that's a cheaper rep. If you can find a good one with a more solid sole like the retail it would probably have you think things over, maybe... 🤔🤷♂️
