The tank isn't op, it's just a good combination of what a good player needs. All you have is a reliable gun with respectable mobility and a trollish turret.

@@flip83211 Except on tier 8+ russian mediums you can count on armour, whereas the revolver only has a strong mantlet. A T-54 can toy with any T8 medium it meets, while both T10s have accurate guns with good dpm and quite strong turrets.
flip83211 the russian meds have terrible gun depression. You need to show your whole tank to get to the enemy

Don't compare this thing's only good side to literally the 3rd worst DPM of all T8 mediums. That's not how balance works.

I understand what you are trying to say. I’m the same way with the Skorpion G. I avg 2500 damage per game and getting 3k damage is quite easy. The Skorp is just an absolute UNIT

You know I comment on all your vids to help the alga rhythm for you. When this tank 1st came out Juicy put up 7k in it. This tank needed buffing, but in the hands of better drivers it always put out the damage. My main issue with all the content makers is you guys are all calling every tank op. It has been used so much that now every good tank is called op. With the way they are putting out tanks like WZ120-1 or the Smasher, there has to be a counter to them. I notice if it is not a good tank nobody drives them. There are plenty of tech tree tanks that can not keep up anymore. This does not make new tanks, or buffed tanks op, it makes older tanks under powered. Great vids, happy to see you help the other channels get subs. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
This. OP stands for "over powered", which by definition, means that there isn't anything to counter or balancing it. Meaning you can play however and will still end with an above avg result. Whereas, strong, the correct term, means that a tank performs very well in its specific playstyle. However if played in areas that the tank is poor in, you will have an awful result.
However, these content creators (except bushka) dont seem to understand the difference and use it interchangeably. IE, claiming that a T29 is op because of its turret armor. When in reality, it's just playing to its strengths and has several weaknesses if played any other way. Or, for example, the comet's gun is broke because it has over 2.5k dpm, but is balanced because it has below avg pen at 200 (prammo).

@Mister Me Oh yeah. That's how you're playing. I could also tell you that under the right angle you can bounce tier 10 meds with a t2 frenchman but it doesn't mean shit in reality. Just as your valentine. One pixel means nothing.
I don't know if its OP, but I can say the tank and I clicked, and it's one of my highest wn8/most played tanks.
I wouldn't say its OP because you cant push in it like any other med, but rather, forces you to play support due to the horrific armor...

You could ask the Same question about the T34-1 because it also has that Heavy Tank Alpha With was better DPM. Of course it has way lower DPM than the other mediums but it has this insane turret Armor which is unpenable for any T7 Standart Shells ( The StEmil might pen it)
T34-1 good tank, T34-2 also good tank i got 200 battles and 63% winrate each
Pity the T-34-3, although having a 122mm the dpm is the polar opposite of the M4. Either the M4 is kinda op or the T-34-3 is underpowered
It is not op whatsoever, it still just a meh tank for me. Its average in mobility, the guns is average too, it felt like an m4 sherman with an unrealisticly massive gun on its turret, even the mantlet can be pen if you shoot premmo into it.....
Edit:oh and one other thing is that this tank is an HE magnet. Prefer the cdc with its quick reposition (its an HE magnet as well but at the very least you can run when it gets tough

Great gun but tier 5 hull in tier 8 balances it. Its training me to conserve my hp and ridge fight / hull down. It’s the most fun grinding credits i’ve ever had. Lowe bank of berlin....but the fun...the fun...
You need to show a battle with the Sherman as the lower tier then we'll see how well it does

I just bought this from the sale. And i play it like the centurion 7/1 which is one of my favorite tank. The only difference is no hesh and the turret armor
To be an OP, it literally has to be an Over Powered, and it should not have great weakness. But it has a great weakness, which is armor. Pretty much every gun can penetrate it.
The buff effectively made it make more credits too (the credit coefficient hasn't been buffed but the dmg it deals is more so it means more credits per shell) and the alpha can roll up to 438 I believe. The HE is decent but costs more than the APCR so its Smart to finish off targets with APCR
I have the revlorise and in my opinion of someone who has played alot of games in the tank, I'm not the best player ever but I have a 58% win rate in this tank, but I don't think it is op at all. It's a really good tank if you play it to it's strengths like alot of tanks but the difference is the gun hits pretty high with low reload time. Great tank and hopefully at least for me that it stays where it's at and isn't messed with to much by wargaming bc I think it's in a good spot right now. Like I said it's one of my favorite premium tanks I have at least if not my favorite. My only competitor tank I have is the is3 defender, idk just love the auto loader on it lol
No this tank has the worst armor compared to the other sherman hulls I can pen this frontally with HE using the t49

Why ? There is NO ARMOR... It's a tank that is difficult to ace i have to say, because it is very well played by very talented players. In the good hands, it is a great tank, but definitly not everybody will at least reach 3k dmg just because of the armor... Hopefully the gun is fantastic, and that provides this tank something special compared to other paper tanks (CDC, Ru251, Lorraine...). This is not a tank for all the players...
I’m sure great players make it seem op but I always lose in this tank so rarely play it. I’ve only played it twice since the buff and only played it 33 games in total, so maybe I need to try it again.
______ED______ you just have to play the tank like it needs to be played, you need to have support and get into a dig in position. As you probably now it has amazing gun dispersion so use it as a support role rank but it can hold its own in a 1v1. I have a 60% wr with a couple hundred battles btw
Outdoors Hoodlum whenever I try to use tanks as support my team doesn’t leave the spawn 🤷♂️. I need to play some more games I guess as 33 is way to low to judge a tank, but when I can jump in the WZ120-FT and smash the enemy, it’s the easy choice 😂.

Its certainly not OP. It's got a reliable gun and good speed. So does every tier VIII+ Russian mediam, except they have stronger hulls. The Rev had a trollish turret but has a tier V Sherman hull. A skilled Russian med driver can brawl and knife fright with heavies on occassion but the same cannot be said for this tank.
Is it significantly better since the buff? Yes. The reason I don't mind it being really good as a premium is that it doesn't have a tech tree counterpart. People aren't going to pay gold or money for shitty tanks, even if they're unique.

Almost all French tanks can be HESHed, so when you get behind or side of a French tank, just switch to HE
No large tank with 0 armour and mediocre speed can be OP. Just like the WT auf Pz IV. It’s OP up until a T30 HE’s you through the front. Plus, the pen sucks anyway.
i wonder if this review still legit at current patch (10.1). would be nice to revisit some old prem tanks for newbies to see if they're still worth it 👍
Just a fact: The Israeli Army had this tank(M4A1 rev.) and they named it M51 Super Sherman and it was used during the 6-Day War. Also the Egyptian Army had their own M4 Sherman variant like the M4/FL 10(That Tier 7 Medium Tank) and used it the same war(6-Day War). As many others say below, just having a alpha buff doesn't make it 'OP'. The big silhouette, non existent armour doesn't make it that op. A true op tank would have to tick all or most of the boxes of armour, firepower and mobility.
In the hands of a good player who understands the weakness of a tank, can make it look all mighty. In some cases like the draft, the mobility alone can push it to god tier, while the fv215b 183 was there sure to the monstrosity of its gun.
I love the rev and played cautiously to its strength is a great tier 8

Actually the T-34-3 has a heavy tank gun too (400 alpha) I wish they could buff it as close as the rev :'(

Totally diferent playstyles, i have the t-34-3, its nice, but forget firing on the moove, gun handling is diferent from everything else.

Imma have to argue that the ravioli isnt op its deffinetley a very strong tank currently, but the reality is all it has is the gun and gun depression thays the only thing that makes this tank what it is. I've got around 400 games in it about 62% wr. its armour and .mobility really let it down mostly the armour thanks to it being a tier 5 m4 sherman at tier 8 with a bigger gun if its armour or mobility were slightly better then yup this tank broke.

Is it op? It’s my highest tier 8 with 2250 and 75% wr but I’m not sure I would call it op. It’s an amazing tank that experienced and or high skill players will do well in, but I don’t think the average player would consider it OP. You can abuse the gun depression\gun mantlet, but otherwise it has no armor and can he frontally by t49 etc, and mobility is kind of meh. basically it’s OP in the right hands, but it’s not a simple point and click like the smasher, wz ft etc.

I'm planning to make a vid on it finally, and I honestly don't think it's op after 250 battles or so.. the gun is even better than it was but the armor is holding it back, which is a good thing.
Before the buff this tank was shit and now it is decent at best. Only thing which is useful on that tank is the high striking gun, rest is just meh

Yes I think it's OP. It only needed a averageish to small buff, but WG gave it a buff too big.

The only good thing is the gun, the hull is weak and huge. It doesn’t have great mobility, it doesn’t have great camo, the aim time is not great, the penetration isn’t that great either. Its very good, but not OP. Plus you need to be a good player to excel

Not OP. It's got a tier 5 hull, and it's a bit slow and sluggish. True, the turret can be trollish at times, but not something you can really count on. The gun is nice though.

No, it’s not OP. It’s got a really good gun, reasonable mobility, but if you make a mistake you will get destroyed immediately. Requires skill to drive well.

Hopefully doesnt come back on sale until a year... it came out on sale early December for 6000 creds and 30 prem... as a pop up
