I always try to find used boots. I found a pair of Chippewa 18 inch tall engineer boots at the flea market last weekend. They were brand new for 80 bucks. New they are 400 dollars. I was doin the happy dance for sure.
Bought a brand new pair of these at an estate sale for 5 bucks. Can't beat it. Never worn, and they seems to be older indicated by the stamp markings on the inside. They have a shearling lining that is not removeable. Can't wait to use them in the winter. Theyre a great pair of boots.
Thank you for the video Logcabinlooms! Now that I have moved back to upstate NY from down in NM, this is a boot that fits the bill! I always appreciate your channel. You never know what you are going to get next. I especially appreciate the videos on quality items, old school skill sets, or most of the things you present and demo on your channel. Thank You!
Those are the Cadillac of that type for sure. Never spoiled myself with a genuine original. I've owned knock off brands. Matched up with a red plaid coat, mad trapper hat, and a Savage 99 or Remington 14, you are good to go retro style.
I have wore out a few pairs of Maine hunting boots by Bean...paddled my canoe 550 miles with a pair strapped to my feet and they held up fine! I prefer the speed lacing such as are on the Schnees...but the Maine Hunting shoe is where it all started...atvb...MTwoods
I had a pair of similar thrift store purchased Beans, I used em for commercial diving with modifications couple of old school brass grommets for drainage. ruined for initial design but worked great for my needs. Still in my dive locker with original carhart bib overalls. Man im so jealous of your M37 and the Yami thumper!
Wear these in Northern Minnesota during grouse hunting. In the morning here you have frost which melts mid morning then forest floor/trails turn wet. The rubber bottom keeps your feet dry and provides great traction. These boots are lightweight and comfortable to walk all day in. Much better than any all leather boot. Had a pair for hunting since my early teens and well worth the money especially to have dry feet. You will like them.
As long as you stay off hard surfaces they hold up pretty well. The advantage of buying them new is they will install speed hooks instead of eyelets for a few dollars extra.
I've been having real problems with usps, got tractor parts sitting 45 min away since the 16th at their distribution center. I got some boots off ebay, been pleased
I have a pair of the tall ones, I removed the eyelets on the top half and replaced with hooks so I don't have to lace all the way to the top. I have used them for years. I try to go to the store in Freeport every year. The store not far from me.
I've been using some Carhartt boots lately, which have worked well. But the quality seems a little lackluster. Ebay is a great way to get some used, older boots that might've not been worn much.
I may be wrong on that, but I have never heard of them redoing them, and I see no mention of it in the paperwork. It would be a nice option, but makes me think perhaps I should of hung on to some old ones that I junked for the leather.
I wear my work boots for a minimum of 12 hours a day Monday through Friday. The non-leather laces you showed is what is on them now. They are pretty poor. I had them on hand. That is why I put them on but I can usually only get a few months out of them before I have knots through them holding them together.
I've got a pair of those exact boots... red rubber & all. The stitching between the rubber & leather above the heel will give out within a few months and the boots will be useless. I've owned lots of Bean Hunting boots... no more for me.

100%
Wore mine out, need new lowers. Great boots. Been through a few. Wish I grabbed a 100th anniversary pair.

Hey, thanks for your videos. I appreciate your view on things

I bought the same model as you have there back in 2011and had LL Bean install speed laces on them. I agree there great boots.
Bought a pair of boots years ago at bass pro that are similar ( brand red ball ) but comes with a removable liner for cold weather. Still got them
My last pair of slightly used boots were Schnee’s, Heck of a deal, $30. Estate sales are great.

Same orders from rock auto got within 60 miles and now completely lost, Rock Auto is now officially a PIA.
Good boot. I have an old pair.

Also great for New, old stock, or the ones used for display, often at half price.
Bean has always advertised their resoling service, like Schnees, unless things have changed.

Check their website. I remember it from their catalogue.
Good looking boots!
I would love a pair of boots like this but finding ANY shoes in size 15EEEE is a nightmare.

I’ve lived in Maine my whole life and still never owned a pair. Good looking boot though
Maine is by far the second greatest state in the union, after New Hampshire of course!
@@Isaac_5.56x45 lol not
You are the man....
Do you buy a size larger? LL Bean says they fit differently for certain sizes.
Well, I wear size ten, and with these in a 10 wide, I have room for heavyweight socks, plus a lighter pair if I desire.
4:20 LL bean does resole the maine hunting shoes and bean boots

What’s your take on lighters I have a rechargeable storm proof lighter totally my newest favorite trinket
LL bean will replace the sole and re sew any stitching. Can't remember the price but wasn't much.
