i'm pretty happy these guys are a bit hidden from the mainstream, you don't have to worry about them becoming hot topic-core and sell-outs and what not, they just make great music!

I've been looking around at many Russian circles videos now, one thing I've noticed is that none of them come in 1080p ,so i've come to believe any Russian circles played at 1080p will blow your fucking mind.

The post-rock/post-metal thing has really gotten big recently, hasn't it? It's no wonder these guys are some of the scene darlings. Great drumming, great riffs, jaw-droppingly awesome and clever tapping licks, and they're a lot heavier than I expected them to sound. Not to mention their stuff isn't just experimental, but it manages to be so while still being quite memorable and catchy.

Also. I've thought a few times about why I love these guys. And I think it's the structure and suspense they have. There are plenty of faster or harder bands that make you want to rock out. But Russian Circles sounds so epic and makes me want to rock out, and yet withholds that chaos and keeps me in this beautiful structural progression.
Plus not having lyrics allows on to relax part of the brain and enjoy the pure aesthetic beauty of it like nature, like rafting down a river.

I don't really need suggestions for myself but I think it is nice to share good bands and help other people discover them, and I think it gives off a friendly atmosphere which makes me happy. Rosetta is good, don't know why I'd forgotten to list them. You may also like the band Latitudes. Their new album 'Individuation' will come out soon and their previous work is very good post-metal too.

Bands that are kinda similar to Russian Circles: Pelican, Red Sparrowes, Cloudkicker, Maybeshewill, If These Trees Could Talk, Barrows, Beware Of Safety, Oak (in order to find the band, search for Oak - I'm not dying) and Snipers!! (Exclamation marks are part of the name. To find band, search for Snipers - There Is An Adversary). These bands are great and a must-hear for people that want music somewhat similar to Russian Circles so if you are one of them, give them a listen and spread the word!

(Part 2) This Is Your Captain Speaking, Yndi Halda, A Silver Mount Zion and Mastodon. I could add to that list; Omega Massif, Meniscus, Kokomo, Exxassens, Mooncake, Laura, Lights Out Asia, Mogwai, Crippled Black Phoenix, Jakob. I do realise we are now more talking about post-rock/metal/experimental in general so some of these bands won't sound that similar to Russian Circles. However, I'd like to recommend you guys one of my personal favorite post-rock acts at the moment, The Ascent Of Everest.
