This is a short quick demo video to show how you can convert uhd hdr to sdr in android tv in real time to watch on non-HDR or sdr tvs. This is not a hdr vs non hdr tv comparison type of video, it is like a android tv tips and tricks 2021 type of video. In real time conversion, mi box android tv adjust hdr color and let you watch high dynamic range movies with the help of android tv box display settings. This is available in android tv settings menu which you can do while doing android tv box setup.

My MI BOX S is connected to panasonic tv which has support for HDR and doulby vision. When I play HDR video on the box, the image is darker and paler than SDR. Do you know what the problem is

Can we play dts on non dts supported home theatre by using vlc to decode dts and get proper sound?
Brother, it will not work. Your speaker system should support the sound when connected.to give you DTS experience. You might able to play its down mixed kind of version (not DTS) if you switch off pass through. But it would be like just playing sound with no proper intended effects.

One more thing is that the hdr to sdr conversion is not working properly in mi box 4k. It's giving proper colour when turned on but the scenes are darker as compared to normal sdr video. No proper contrast is generated.
Any suggestions from your side to get it proper?
@@hansakeraliya249 Yes, that would happen because this type of conversion is not real tone mapping color and brightness grading. It is more like simulation. In such case I would suggest to tweak your TV picture settings per your preference. I do the same for HDR10+ contents.
Buffering problem what is the solution?
I have a 4k VU tv, non HDR, i am currently using firestick 4k, what happens is when i play any hdr content irrespective of the app, the screen become extremely dim, which i get it as it doesn't support even regular HDR so that could be the normal behavior on HDR content, firestick unfortunately doesn't have any option to switch off the HDR,
if i buy this device and i enable hdr to sdr on my tv,
Will the content still be displayed in 4K resolution with normal quality(not dim) or will it be reduced to 1080p on prime/netflix?
First, Thanks a ton for your question. Now to answer your question, Yes you will be able to play 4k/1080p (SDR, not dim or washed out color) content by switching on HDR to SDR even on other offline players like Kodi, VLC, etc. I would have showed that demo too in my video but I could not due to copyright and other issues, hope you understand what I mean.

@@Real_ReV thanks for the info, i ll send u an email for the video, what i wanna see is when the hdr to sdr option is enabled, does the Netflix show ultra hd or hd and same with Prime on the original hdr content.

Both will show UHD or 4k since Mi Box is capable of playing 4k on these platforms due to Widevine L1 certification irrespective of your TV's resolution but when you will play any content, it wont be able to give you 4k resolution output. This happens because these apps read device's metadata.
Another point is I have 4k UHD TV to test.
What I understood so far is you have VU 1080p TV (No HDR) to which you connect fireTV
stick 4k. When you play any 4k UHD HDR video on Netflix or Prime Video they show 4k HDR in description (even though your TV is 1080p) but you play it does not show proper color and brightness. Hence you wanted to check if you use MI Box 4k's HDR to SDR option on same TV then how the video quality would be. Let me know if I have interpreted the situation correctly or not.
I cannot find this setting in the new Motorola 4k media stick. Its not even there in the developer options. I am also facing this same issue but only on Primevideo.I have a LG 4K HDR10 tv 2019 model.
Is there a way I can enable this setting of HDR to SDR somehow in my device?
Brother, as of now there is no other workaround unless your device allows so (like HDR to SDR). I believe this is also due to type of processor and box's metadata reading. I have noticed tv box which has amologic processor can do this real time conversion..
But have you checked by switching off LG's Deep Color setting for HDMI port? Downside of this is you might not get true required color space.
@@Real_ReV I have tried it all but nothing works. The streaming device runs on Amlogic S905Y2 quad core processor so I guess a minor firmware update from the manufacturer can solve this problem but lately I have seen that android devices sold under Nokia, Marq and Motorola brand by flipkart donot get firmware updates at all.
Each brand is just trying to have a piece in every line of product. Do not care about quality and after sales services. Most of them are also doing job work kind of thing. Outsource manufacturing of product with less or no proprietary features.

@@Real_ReV The device on paper is much more powerful than the Mibox 4k bcoz of superior hardware, the only problem is the lack of firmware updates.

Dear sir i have nokia media streamer when i play . live tv on kodi app hd channels..then the colour and video quality does not.good..after this...i was play hd movie on zee5 now video quality is better..so...can u explain me what is the reason behind this

i have one issue, video ghosting issue whenever i play streamyard live videos on youtube, the ghosting issue is happening only on live youtube videos, the video ghosting issue is still appearing even after the recent update which was specifically sent to remove video ghosting issue, do you have any solution for this issue and please do check every live videos on youtube channel everone might have these problems
@Sumesh Suresh I am not facing video ghosting issue on youtube, actually I am facing video scramble issue. I see live videos run for few seconds then entire screen gets scrambled with straight broad vertical rectangles. But audio plays in background, What I have noticed is that it is an issue with the videos streamed with VP09 video codec (google's own video format). Other live videos which are streamed with avc1 (similar to H.264 video format) has no issues.
So I tried clearing youtube app data (You might have already tried it). For few days it worked fine but later issue started again. Another thing what I noticed is that sometimes when I exit such problematic live videos and then play again after few seconds they work fine. But this workaround is not much reliable.
I will let you know if I find anything more reliable.
@@Real_ReV i have checked from another mibox4k user even he is facing same problem with video ghosting issue whenever a live video is played on youtube, once the live video is finished there is no problem whatsoever in playing the video but the main bug is when a live stream video is played the video gets blurred & stuck at one place though we can hear the voice, its very annoying actually mi needs to fix that via update, bro if you find any solution for this bug please do share asap

Its anything we can do for updating mibox 4k have still android 9 version and its lagging and its has some ghost issue and very laggy
I think there were couple of custom roms which will jail break but they were still I pie based if I am remembering correct

@@midhuzzvlogs7710 Apps running on Mi box wont give you any option to change ratio. If you want to get rid of black bars at top and bottom of movie then you can use your TVs custom zoom setting. Down side is it will remove on screen controls buttons like seek bar and player setting

Brother, RGB color mode mein apko sirf 8bit tak hi color milta hai. Matlab color combinations jo primarily Red Green Blue se banta hai woh kam milta hai. Toh agar jo movie aap dekh rahey ho usmein kuch aisa color aya jo RGB mode produce nahi kar sakta then woh color aapko sahi nahi dikhega.
Mein overall display setting par ek video jaldi upload karne wala ho toh stay tuned.

washed out color layer could not be fixed with brightness setting. HDR brightness setting is different.

Why would you want to convert hdr to sdr? Don't you want hdr?
I have HDR10+ TV and Prime Video in Mi box 4k tries to play HDR10+ videos in same dynamic format even though Mi box does not support it. Hence it does not show proper color and brightness. Some apps do not read meta data properly, they try to force the format which is unsupported. To avoid such situation you can convert HDR to SDR for some color and brightness corrections.

You mean even after switching on HDR to SDR conversion you are not able to view content in proper color? Which TV you are using? Which Player or Platform (Prime Video, etc.) you are using to play content?

Dolby atmos yeh support nahi karta hai..aur agar aap koi dd+ content play kar rahe ho aur apka speakers usey support nahi karta hai toh bhi error ayega.

Settings > Device Preferences > Sound > Digital Audio Format > Different Pre-Defined formats milega like PCM, S/PDIF, Auto and Manual- Is meins se Manual ko select karna > Fir previous page par aapko Mi Box supported Digital Formats Mil jayengey like DD, DD+, DTS, AAC Iss mein se aap enable karna which audio format you want.
