Nice mink catch, generally if fisher boxes are in high elevations like a hill or even in a 4 ft level in a tree, that works well so the lure carries far.

Great job ! Love the pack :) That snow in the trees and the frost I always loved those trips out the most :) I spend a lot of time out in the bush but still miss my trapping days, now its just cutting wood and summer on the road camping :)

Congrats man very nice👍I tried down here in the Dalbo area and struck out cold and a foot of fresh snow. I pulled boxes on Sunday as I had to be back at work Monday. There’s always next season 😉

Nice catches, love the color on that fisher. Question - the trapping season in Minnesota for marten and fisher is almost comically short - I cannot imagine a season shorter anywhere in the country. Are the numbers that low? Am I missing something?

Thank you. Yeah great color on him for sure. We have strong population numbers, so I don't know why the season is so short. Definitely gets a lot of complaints.

@@owenminnesotaoutdoors9664 I just checked - in Wisconsin, the fisher trapping season is October 15th thru January 8th. Perhaps the MN DNR needs to move it's HQ out of Ramsey county into Beltrami

@Holger Awakens and Wisconsin has a lower population and limited draw tags for fisher. So yeah our short season is pretty wild.

Congratulations of your catches. Im wondering where in Minnesota you live, maybe the NE? Im in far western Minnesota, and managed to catch a couple fisher myself. We had extremely cold temperatures. Last Tuesday on my first check I had -31 with a feels like of -49 and 24-30” of snow on the ground. We actually never got above -5 the entire season and pulled early due to Christmas also. My wife and I couldn’t set some locations due to the amount of snow and drifting. I’ve enjoyed your videos the past few years and again, a job well done

Thank you. I'm about even with the cities but a ways west, so I always gotta go north to trap. Usually I go way up so I can chase marten too, but this year I stayed closer to home. Glad you were able to find some success. I know people have said this was the hardest year to trap in a long while with all the snow and cold. And appreciate that you have enjoyed the videos.
