Yo sick vid and you absolutely rip Is there ways to reformat the audio on the go pro? When I watch on headphones the go pro audio is only in my left ear and it drives me mad lol. I can turn on mono audio on my pc to fix it but just letting you know in case you didn't
Thank you so much brother!! Damn I’m gonna have to look into that. Someone said that in my last video. I appreciate you letting me know. GoPro has wind settings for the audio. And by default it’s on auto/on and there’s either some bug or hardware problem that mutes the audio. Maybe the mic full of water haha. So I researched how to fix it. Turning wind ‘off’ and you get all the audio back but it’s way louder as I guess it lets in everything. I’m not sure how related this is but I’m sure it could have something to do with it. When I edit the video with AirPods it comes out fine. So maybe when I export the footage I’ve accidentally had the audio format coming out wrong 😬 but I appreciate you letting me know mate, I will get on it ASAP 🙌🏽

Hey man , as you might know there was a incident at the surf park a couple of days ago where a man had a heart attack padding out , respect to him and his family...park closed for a few days I think,.I surf there a couple times a week, urbansurf have given me credit on my few sessions anyway hope to bloke gets well soon....but the place is so much fun heaps of waves for everyone..hope you enjoyed it..ps the water will get colder..18 to 20 degrees in summer

I’ve surfed cruiser and PT rights. Both great waves. Going to try intermediate in three weeks. The ultimate goal is to get a barrel in January on advanced turns.

@@SurfingWithNoz That sounds Insane, best of Luck with it, that would be the dream to for me to Have that as a job🙏 In the Summer the water temp is not as bad here as some people think (maybe that's just because I'm acclimatised to it😂) but in Summer We get air temps of 25c+ sometimes 35c and Most Surfers in the Summer go in with just Boardshorts🤙🏽

Sick video and your angles are really good I was wondering what do you use as a safety measure for your GoPro. Do you use any leash, or only the floatie?
Thank you so much brother!! I just use a floaty with the mouth mount. That’s the orange thing encasing it. I’ve never lost it, but if you were going out in solid surf like 4ft+ (back) then a leash could be a good investment!!
Glad to hear I’m not the only one haha! Keen to surf it again (when it comes to Syd) and get some redemption. A surfer went in and got a bodyboard and he was able to get way deeper than everyone 🙌🏽
Hey bro I took 2 boards. And my sister took one. Then we wrapped them in towels/wetties in the board bag. Was expensive but luckily they didn’t get any damage!!

Thanks so much brother!! Yeah I’ll elaborate on that on a little more. It’s quite deceptive and each wave is different. I found that it would look steep (and I’d start racing) then it randomly backs off and goes fat then races again. The intermediate setting actually looked the best. Maybe a little smaller than advanced but super consistent shape 🙌🏽
@@SurfingWithNoz Thanks for the description! I‘m having an issue reading my local break at the moment, steep drop in then the wave goes flat on the shoulder really quick. I race out onto the shoulder, not wanting to get caught behind the wash, then lose momentum for a decent cut back. Practice makes perfect!
@@rahawk69 My pleasure mate! Yeah that’s a super common problem. I still do it all the time when I misread sections or surf a new break. If you ever get footage of yourself from the beach you’ll pick up on so many things and then you can visualise how you could’ve surfed the wave better/differently 🤙🏽

After trying the wave pool, do you think they would be good additions to land-locked cities? Or places where surfing opportunities are rare, like the east coast of the US?
Great question! If they have the market for it and enough demand then 100%. But you have to think about it from a business point of view. If you put a wave pool in the middle of a desert in India where no one surfs then definitely not because it won’t get used. But for the US there’s heaps of surfers so I think for sure 🙌🏽🤙🏽
I think the only way to make these profitable or financially sustainable in a landlocked city in the middle of the country, is by adding restaurants, attractions and perhaps an apartment building overlooking the wave pool. Wish my town had one.
Good tips thanks Noz! Do they let anyone film their waves from the wall like you did? I'm keen to go with my camera and a mate and get some footage but they say on their website you can only use phones or gopros unless get a media pass
Sorry for the late reply! Thank you for the kind words 🙏🏽 You’re only allowed to on your phones. I brought a tripod and my proper video camera but we got told by other surfers that you can’t. So we looked into it and they used to have a ‘media pass’ that you’d pay extra so you could film but they don’t have that anymore I believe. You can only hire video/photographers from their site or store. But if you have a friend with a good phone, the video looks pretty clean from the wall

Yewww exciting bro. You’ll have a blast! The water is absolutely freezing. It was 11.7C when I went, if you check their website it says at the top. I think it’s 9.5C at the moment so ridiculously cold 🥶 I did ‘advanced turns’. The ‘advanced’ setting is different. That one is 30 mins turns, 30 mins barrels. I haven’t done it but when you’re doing turns it’s not very sucky until that middle/end part. When it goes barrel mode halfway through then yeah it will get sucky and start pitting 🙌🏽

Hey mate I’m not sure I understand the question. Which specific wave are you talking about? All the waves are similar they just get worse each one. So there’s 12 waves each set… the first 5 are really good then the last 7 are still good but quite wobbly. If you’re talking about the very last wave I believe it’s number 12 or 13 every time

Hey man , as you might know there was a incident at the surf park a couple of days ago where a man had a heart attack padding out , respect to him and his family...park closed for a few days I think,.I surf there a couple times a week, urbansurf have given me credit on my few sessions anyway hope to bloke gets well soon....but the place is so much fun heaps of waves for everyone..hope you enjoyed it..ps the water will get colder..18 to 20 degrees in summer

I’ve surfed cruiser and PT rights. Both great waves. Going to try intermediate in three weeks. The ultimate goal is to get a barrel in January on advanced turns.

@@SurfingWithNoz That sounds Insane, best of Luck with it, that would be the dream to for me to Have that as a job🙏 In the Summer the water temp is not as bad here as some people think (maybe that's just because I'm acclimatised to it😂) but in Summer We get air temps of 25c+ sometimes 35c and Most Surfers in the Summer go in with just Boardshorts🤙🏽

Thank you so much brother!! I just use a floaty with the mouth mount. That’s the orange thing encasing it. I’ve never lost it, but if you were going out in solid surf like 4ft+ (back) then a leash could be a good investment!!

Living in Melb. Been 6 times. Barrels remain a bit tricky at URBN - you feel deeper than you are, it's really weird.
Glad to hear I’m not the only one haha! Keen to surf it again (when it comes to Syd) and get some redemption.
A surfer went in and got a bodyboard and he was able to get way deeper than everyone 🙌🏽

Hey bro I took 2 boards. And my sister took one. Then we wrapped them in towels/wetties in the board bag. Was expensive but luckily they didn’t get any damage!!

Thanks so much brother!! Yeah I’ll elaborate on that on a little more. It’s quite deceptive and each wave is different. I found that it would look steep (and I’d start racing) then it randomly backs off and goes fat then races again. The intermediate setting actually looked the best. Maybe a little smaller than advanced but super consistent shape 🙌🏽
@@SurfingWithNoz Thanks for the description! I‘m having an issue reading my local break at the moment, steep drop in then the wave goes flat on the shoulder really quick. I race out onto the shoulder, not wanting to get caught behind the wash, then lose momentum for a decent cut back. Practice makes perfect!

If you ever get footage of yourself from the beach you’ll pick up on so many things and then you can visualise how you could’ve surfed the wave better/differently 🤙🏽

After trying the wave pool, do you think they would be good additions to land-locked cities? Or places where surfing opportunities are rare, like the east coast of the US?

Great question! If they have the market for it and enough demand then 100%. But you have to think about it from a business point of view. If you put a wave pool in the middle of a desert in India where no one surfs then definitely not because it won’t get used.
But for the US there’s heaps of surfers so I think for sure 🙌🏽🤙🏽
I think the only way to make these profitable or financially sustainable in a landlocked city in the middle of the country, is by adding restaurants, attractions and perhaps an apartment building overlooking the wave pool. Wish my town had one.

You’re only allowed to on your phones. I brought a tripod and my proper video camera but we got told by other surfers that you can’t. So we looked into it and they used to have a ‘media pass’ that you’d pay extra so you could film but they don’t have that anymore I believe. You can only hire video/photographers from their site or store. But if you have a friend with a good phone, the video looks pretty clean from the wall

I stayed for half a day haha. But try pump 3 or 4 sessions a day and you’d only need 1 or 2 days 🤙🏽🤙🏽 I was exhausted after 2 sessions haha

The water is absolutely freezing. It was 11.7C when I went, if you check their website it says at the top. I think it’s 9.5C at the moment so ridiculously cold 🥶
I did ‘advanced turns’. The ‘advanced’ setting is different. That one is 30 mins turns, 30 mins barrels. I haven’t done it but when you’re doing turns it’s not very sucky until that middle/end part. When it goes barrel mode halfway through then yeah it will get sucky and start pitting 🙌🏽

how long did it take inbetween the waves u caught
3-5 minutes. There’s sets every 2/3mins but 12 waves and 18 people so yeah probably every 4 minutes on average if you’re not getting dragged to shore

How do you know which wave in the set it is?
Hey mate I’m not sure I understand the question. Which specific wave are you talking about? All the waves are similar they just get worse each one. So there’s 12 waves each set… the first 5 are really good then the last 7 are still good but quite wobbly.
If you’re talking about the very last wave I believe it’s number 12 or 13 every time
