And I say, "Just go. Please, Dave, just drive
Get us as far as far can be
Get us away from tonight."
And I say, "Oh, I'm sorry, didn't mean to yell
I'm having a bad week
I miss my mom."
We drive
Dave steps on the gas
The world that's flying by is slick and smooth
Big waves of light
The radio is playing Queen
We're rocking out
And we're going now
Cause, hey, this is it
This is where we are
Out here where silence is
Seventy miles an hour
Windows up tight
And I am home
We drive
Dave steps on the gas
The world that's flying by is slick and smooth
Big waves of light
The radio is playing Queen
We're rocking out
And I say, "Just go. Please, Dave, just drive
Get us as far as far can be

When they're singing the lyric "...and we're rocking out"; literally EVERY SINGLE ONE of my friends and I _SWORE TO FUCKING gOD_ that it legitimately sounded like they were actually saying _"...with Rob Gano!!!"_ which was the name of one of my best friends when we were all in high school beginning in '02 and lasted until '06
That cover art is the most iconic in all of punk rock or emo. I can't think of a better album cover, and it's impressive that it's not too complicated too.
I agree
Probably American Footballs first LP
This band opened so many doors for so many other bands and scenes that came after them it sucks the band doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
They were huge in the east and midwest but I agree. They've kind of been forgotten about.
Love this as much as did when I was 18 (20 years ago!!)
I feel u man
that Color and The Shape guitar sound
Are the two guitar tones similar?
@@scoutlikestopoop7887 yeah, the fellas in STD were trying to replicate that production
@@startervisions it's good production
2:25 will just play in my head randomly when I'm bored
Road trip!
If I was to make a record, punk or rock, it'd have this level of production.
I briefly dated a girl a few grades younger in high school. we never screwed. she drove me around with her friends they all sang this band. back then I couldn't get into it. I wonder where she is now. boy was I an idiot.

Pretty good song. Can anyone explain everything lyrics?
They leave a house party to beat the traffic during the night, while singing to Queen on the radio
This woulda been a PRIME tune for Tony Hawks pro skater games back in the day!
We just played it in the background while playing the game...
These guys were in quite a few old skate videos
@@fufanux The song 'Holly Hox, Forget Me Nots' was on Brian Sumner's part on the 'Adio: One Step Beyond' dvd. That's how I first heard these guys, and loved it!
