If anything, this game is so faithful to the source material that I considered everything minus the OC canon to the Captain Tsubasa's journey towards World Cup. It's the best Captain Tsubasa game, and the one I considered that before was Captain Tsubasa 2 for NES (more RPG than sports game, up to stamina being used up for moves.) I would love to see a sequel with Tsubasa versus Carlos in the Brazil cup, or even the Barcelona arc. Or finally get to a proper World Cup with adult Tsubasa and the rest... Maybe letting the player use the OC from this game.
I'm really liking Azwan and Blake's characters. I wish instead of single DLC characters we could have gotten full team/remaining team members in the game. For example the remaining Brazilian members in a single time or full teams for Spain/Sweden/Mexico/China etc.
To get the USA as the final match get a C rank of friendship with Ryan and for Brazil get a C rank of friendship with Carlos and choose the correct dialogue options.

Since people are asking how to play with Brazil or USA, here: I just unlocked Brazil with Furano (few mins ago) and with Toho i unlocked Germany *and all the other teams* (last night) to unlock Brazil you gotta choose Carlos Bara the beginning (when you start to play for Japan) and start to increase your friendship with him when you're against Italy your friendship with Carlos should be C (it was C for me) after defeating Italy it became B and then you will be able to choose Brazil route. While talking with Carlos after the game (in Rank Up Event) you will get 2 options after making your choice then on the second options you will see on the left option something like "Brazil Route" with red color texted at the bottom. And now i will do the same thing with Ryan, instead of choosing Carlos in the beginning i will keep on choosing Ryan till my friendship increases in order to play with America in the finals. (Make sure that if you want to unlock brazil choose Carlos Bara and all the other Brazilian player cards you've got same goes if you want to unlock America.) I will do the same thing after few mins to unlock America because i just need to unlock America rn. Plus it doesn't matter which team you choose, it's all about the friendship. I hope this helps^^

And let's face it, a reality where not only Japan, but U.S.A., are not sucking at football? Suspension of disbelief gets a run for its money in there. Yellow and red cards are just for plot-relevant drama in the Captain Tsubasa universe. (Yes, I know that was most likely a joke. But just in the unlikely case it was serious...)

Japan's developers clearly saw the new team the USA is quietly building in real life, so it makes sense to make an Additional storyline for their team to reflect this. USA has more than 3 players now unlike the game but good representation is better than none I guess. Plus it's good business for selling the game in the US. Ryan is clearly Pulisic as the star, but nothing else. Since 2020 Pulisic has been joined by other players. Azwan can be Zack Steffen even though Steffen is a native and Azwan was naturalized. There is no equivalent for Blake at the moment because all the strikers are still average and of the only two giant strikers one is old and the other isn't expected to go far in Europe if he ever leaves MLS. Blake is the stereotype of what USA wants their striker to be, play and look like. Outside of striker, the team is young but strong. Also of note: Unlike Japan, USA's under-20 squad has been able to reach at least the U-20 World Cup Quarterfinals for the last 3 consecutive tournaments and a lot of those players are on the senior US team now. The USA youth deserved some credit, and this Tsubasa arc was a good time to do it.
Not a threat at all if you know how to press down in a controller. Seeing all the long range Neo Tiger Shots used in the video, however... Not surprising. Point blank Neo Tiger can score on Azwan even before all the cutscenes of him boasting happen. I didn't even see the scene of Azwan catching the twin shot, because, again, point blank. The player doesn't even use aerial shots. This video just proves America is far from an invincible team.
America looks broken, but it all depends on how you get there. Extra events and challenges can all help unlock useful things, and your custom character getting a Super shot helps. Having two Neo Tiger Shot users can make a lot of difference... Or maybe having Diaz's overhead, or even the Neo Tiger Twin shot (you can unlock that before Hyuga and Tsubasa learn it in the finals, because why not?)

They could base it off the manga entirely. The final match of the Brazil league was an epic battle most action heroes would be jealous of. Football, it can be epic if you stop caring about silly things like physics.

He was a striker first seen in the second NES game, Super Striker (probably released before Natureza existed,) and was basically a bag full of awesome. He normally came out on the field on the second half of the Jr. World Cup finals, and he... Well, he could run the whole field in about eight seconds, could dodge almost all tackles without trying, and his shot had the ball *vanish* and appear on the other side of the goal. His only flaw was he was lousy at defense. Since the game had heavy RPG mechanics, you could eventually beat him (losing took you back to semi-finals so you could grind,) but the best match of the game was "hidden." Getting to the finals without losing a single match, an epic task itself, "rewarded" you with the Brazil Jr. team becoming "True Brazil Jr." All players had their stats boosted, and Coimbra played the whole match. There was no reward for beating them, but getting to play against them was its own reward. Since Ortiz is a game-only character, they could add Coimbra as a DLC character, if they ever add the Jr. World Cup to the game (or a sequel.) Or just pull all stops and have Coimbra *and* Natureza around. Give them a Twin Shot just because.
They are not too hard to beat, depends on how strong your custom player is when you get there (Hyuga/Tsubasa score the goals, but is your character who pisses Ryan off the most.) Focusing on one player other than Ryan for friendship helps. I had my striker fanboy Hyuga so much I unlocked the Neo Tiger Shot, so I had basically two Hyugas on the field (combo passes and all.) Anyhow... Don't do exactly as shown here. Shooting the Neo Tiger Shot from that far is an RNG play. Even Azwan can rarely handle a NTS from point blank. And I didn't know Azwan could catch the Neo Drive Tiger Shot, either, as I scored thrice on him with that. Again, point blank.

EUA is one of the most ridiculous and broken teams of this game. During the first time ONLY they marked 4 fucking goals and i can't do shit about it. The speed their shots are charged is ridiculous and its so frustrating. Completely impossible and totally unfair because they dribble everthing. Ai in this game is fucking broken. Almost starting a new route and forget about EUA
