Lake District to me is the most gorgeous place in Britain, my wife and I just love it especially the northern lakes around Kewsick. I'd say to anyone it's a place once you've visited once you will return again and again.
Hi John. Yes hard to disagree with that - although maybe the North West Coast of Scotland has the edge for us. But the Lakes have always been our go to place. And Keswick especially, we’ve always found the South Lakes a little crowded, but Keswick honestly feels like a true mountain town. When I was in my 30’s, I regularly left home in Bedfordshire at 3:30am to drive to Keswick for 7:30, and from there started off on some epic hill walking days! And at the end of the day I would drive back again. 🤦🏻♂️ Our kids have caught the Lake District bug too and now it’s wonderful to be able to walk with our Grandkids as well! Hope you guys are well. And have a great weekend 👍👍👍
lovely Sunrise.. weve never been to lake District, always been on the cards. but we will.. i will stay quiet about the Pheasants this time of year.. shhh. keswick looks great and a place to visit.. crikey you must have been up early, do you guys sleep Dave..lol.. ten to nine and out, were on our 4th pot of tea still in bed that time..lol.. lovely scenery as you catch it well.. wow on the high views, did i say i dont like heights, but lovely..atb K n S & Rubes
Cheers Steve. The Lakes are wonderful but the South Lakes are always rammed - so Keswick is a great mountain town. Ha - we are always up at around five - which means it’s easy to get out and about early! Mind you we’re knackered by 8:30pm🤣🤣 That little walk is an easy one mate and no real drops at all! Hope you’re doing ok this week mate 👍🤞👍🤞
Quite the perfect adventure for sure. Beautiful reflections across that lake for sure!! Love how the light dances and plays in the earlier morning...just awesome!!
It was funny Bruce - I was all on my own to start with, and as the colours grew, more and more people arrived to just stand and stare! Do love that view so much!!
Thank you, Dave. The scenery is stunning, just stunning. The colors are amazing. The hilltop was beautiful and dramatic. Sorry, I'm going back to reviewing the woodwind instruments. Not long now) I think it will be a good addition to the sound palette this weekend.🙏
Cheers Soren Over the years, the Lake District has been or favourite place in the UK. But has become very busy now throughout the year. We have always loved Keswick, a proper mountain town, and climbed a lot of hills from there> getting a bit old for it now mate - but still good to get up the smaller ones!!
Lovely memories made despite the bugs! That Latrigg view was something else! And what a sunrise…I am sure 2025 will have another Lakeland trip in for us somewhere 😍⛰️
Another great video guys! Thanks for the mention! Those views over Keswick and Borrowdale etc from the top of Latrigg still blow me away - yet I only did the walk 6 months ago! I can hear Keswick calling me 😃
Cheers Robin. Yep Keswick is one of our favourite places I used to get up at 3am, drive to Keswick for 7am, climb as many hills as I could and then leave around 4 to be back at home for 7:30pm Must have been completely mad but couldn’t do it now, not least as the roads wouldn’t let you get there that quickly 😃. Recommend DerwentWater site. Very friendly and so convenient for the town and the buses. 👍👍
Cheers Steve. We think that the South Lakes up to Ambleside are far too crowded these days. But Keswick and the campsites around there is wonderful. Great walking and a bus station really close!
Hello Dave and Sue, enjoying your lake district journey, we have never visited Keswick. Lovely to see the pheasants. Nice to have a look around the campsite and the mountaind in the background. Lovely views over the valleys and the sunrise was amazing. Take care x Julie and Tony x
We absolutely love Keswick. And that CCC Derwentwater site is so close to the town and the shops plus it’s five minutes walk to that view down the lake. We haven’t been back kind of to the South Lakes for years - it always seems so crowded - but although Keswick is busy, it’s easy to wander out into the fields and hills from there. And you really do feel like you’re in the middle of the mountains!
Great video. That takes us back. That was our first ever campsite in a two-man tent many, many years ago. Also fond memories of the town with the Pencil museum and motor museum. Not sure if they're still there. Well done for getting up so early, the results on your pictures are brilliant.
Oh wow. Isn’t a beautiful site Chris!! The Pencil Museum is still there - we drove past it. The Motor Museum we’ve been to but didn’t see it. Just googled it and it closed in 2011!! Where does the time go?
Fabulous Dave. Derwent water is one of my favourite lakes. It's a shame that so many people miss the simple joys of sunrises and nature. You should have stopped at Braithwaite village as the village shop has the very best Cornish pasties ever! Why N.B. BTW? Di you have a narrow boat? Ian
Cheers Ian. Yes the Lakes and Keswick has always been our go to in Winter. We haven’t been in to the Braithwaite shop. The pub is great though. We climbed Barrow last Winter and the pub was very welcoming afterwards The NB stands for North Bedfordshire. We changed our name from North Bedfordshire Nature when we bought the van. Sunrise has always been our favourite time of the day!! Hope the van is good?
@@NBNatureTrailvan The van appears to be fantastic. I am still trying to get my head around the dash but I am getting there. We are currently loading her up and weighing everything :). Ian

Oh my goodness indeed. A bench with a view. I must get down again there sometime. Stunning sunset too. 😎
Keswick is great Kev. Don’t bother with Ambleside or Bowness. They’re Just touristy. But Keswick feels like a mountain town. 👍👍

Hope you’re ok my friend
Look forward to hearing the woodwind section 👍👍👍
Such a beautiful sunrise! Nice city and wonderful mountains! ❤

Another Beautiful video my friend 😮❤
Thanks Dinesh. Very kind of you. And hope you’re doing well 👍👍👍👍
We love Keswick too! The view from your walk with your family was pretty special. N&Nx
Wasn't it just guys. Getting a bit long in the tooth for the big hills now, but the smaller ones still pack a big punch Latrigg is always wonderful!
You guys are having great adventures! Really nice campground. 👌 Beautiful landscapes in the Lake District- a wow sunrise for sure!! Take care guys!!
Thanks Jen.
Yes a lovely winter trip to one of our very favourite sites!!
@ Steve and I might take our trailer out for a night or two- it most likely will be chilly and raining!!

Thanks for posting
Keswick is a wonderful mountain town. Our favourite in the Lake District!
We wish we could live near Keswick - how wonderful for you. 👍
Beautiful views 😊
Thank you. It’s a stunning place!!
Excellent
Cheers Dave. Hope you’re having a good week mate 👍👍
We are heading for D&G from Christmas. Probably will not cross into the lakes though. Way to go Serge.
Cheers Dave.- yes absolutely loved D&G
And the Lakes week was beset with illness but we all made the best of it!!
Looks like my comment from yesterday is gone - the short version is that this is another nice watch:)
😨😨 that's annoying Ant - thanks for watching one of our favourite places in the UK and that view of Derwentwater up there in my top five!!
Nice video 👍 😊
