KerbyFab, you new to combat sports? Damage is #1 criteria. Dat was wild and aggressive but could not create his own shot; two or three trash under powered strikes that creates an opening for a "clean" heavy strike. Palomino clench work was extra slimy too and their were clean audible counters landed that could have won a 50/50 round.

Smaller fighter threw and landed more more shots. Was also the aggressor for 4/5 rounds. Dat clearly won 49 and Palomino at 47

I am a Palomino fan but Dat won that fight, more aggression, he controlled the pace. Usually they get it right in BKFC but this one was absolutely bogus. Respect to both fighters. 👍

I am on the fence about it, I see your point that he was a bit more active but that did not equate to damage, you can out punch your opponent but if the majority of those punches are not landing because of being blocked but the other fighter throws less and does more damage, who really won, can't you equally say the the fighter with better defense and made his shots count won? does activity really win a fight? I know it helps but the point system is not all about activity.
I am not saying you are wrong, however, Dats face at the end of the fight certainly looked like he took more shots than Luis. We all have our opinions, just like when I thought Pacquiao won when he fought Mayweather, most people I talked to thought Mayweather won, I bring this example up because Mayweather is a great defensive fighter.
I guess all that really matters is who has their arm raised at the end.

If Dat puts on permanent, healthy weight to move up, his skill and boxing IQ would be enough to outclass Palomino. This dude is 27-16 in MMA for a reason and we could see why in this fight. He eked out a close victory based on power though, don't get me wrong.

@@MrBcummings8521 Watch round 2 again for some "easier" on-the-eyes analysis. You BKFC fans don't seem to actually know shit about boxing. Very few punches in Round 2 from either fighter that actually land and the only significant strike in Round 2 is a right straight from Palomino while he changes levels. The camera doesn't have a clean angle on it but the pace of the fight for the rest of that round changes since it hurt Nguyen. Pick any round and actually look at what's going on.

this fight was in favor of the black guy. I could already hear from the commentators, the comments were more in favor for the black guy, more enthusiasm in their voices when talking about him. The asian guy for sure won. im guessing the judges were like the commentators, they had a favorite. People in the comments talking about the cuts are dumb, cuts don't mean sht, performance does.

I wonder what is the rate of hand injuries is in the sport. Because the reason why boxing went to using gloves was not to lessen the impact of blows, gloves were implemented to protect the fighters hands.

To explode like that at the last 20 seconds of the fight shows he was holding back the entire time. Which is obvious as he's running away the whole fight. Dat shoulda won that.
Yeah he fought cautious and scared until that final sequence. He said he was concerned about trading with Dat before the fight so tried to use his reach from the outside. He had more power though being two weight classes above which was probably the deciding factor in the match. But Dat landed many more shots, used more combinations, and just had generally higher boxing IQ. If he puts on healthy weight to move up permanently, he would definitely overcome Palomino.
That was a great fight. Both are good.

Luis Palomino needs to see it from the perspective of Dat Nguyen. Dat is a smaller guy but is willing to fight the bigger Palomino. He's got heart. And fighters make money by hyping up fight, not by being nice guys not wanting to hurt each other. All Dat is doing is making money for the organization by hyping up the fights. Palomino needs to understand the altruism of Dat Nguyen in promoting the organization for the future of the sport. Most smaller guys are not interested in fighting an unfairly bigger opponent, and Dat was no chicken shit either in the fight, even though he was physically at a disadvantage. Viewers would think that Palomino would destroy Dat Nguyen, but it is not the size of the dog in the fight, but the fight in the smaller dog. Palomar should try fighting a bigger opponent and see if he can put out as much gut Dat Nguyen in the fight. If Palomar can do as well as Dat in pushing a bigger fighter around without getting knocked out, then he will understand what a feat Dat Nguyen is in Dat's fights.
