  • Can an off grid greenhouse be sufficient against the harsh Utah winter and summer? Join us while we give you a tour of our greenhouse that was finished July 2022. Despite one of our hardest winters, we are growing passion fruit, bananas, Avocados and mangoes in the snow! Oh yeah and also all of the boring stuff that would actually sustain life (tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, carrots, peas, peppers, beets, cabbage, cauliflower, artichoke, lettuce, blackberries, strawberries-well yiu get the picture :-) Rather you are here for a DIY Greenhouse idea, looking for ideas on how to build a greenhouse, wanting to grow your own food, or just curiosity - welcome! Our year-round off grid walipini greenhouse is a hybrid of different ideas we have learned from other fantastic greenhouses. Overall, it is a unique design necessary to perform in the harsh heat and cold climate of Utah. On our channel, the Manti Homestead, we have a “playlist“ that highlights the full construction of the greenhouse. There are no secrets, we share everything we did to build this greenhouse. We hope you enjoy the video, and will take time to like and subscribe to the channel. See you in the greenhouse!

I wish I was a little more knowledgeable on the gardening aspect :-) right now I’m just learning to ton. It seems like when the lemon and lime started to blossom the grapefruit just followed. I am wondering if it’s a possibility that all of that work together to benefit us? Good luck though I hope yours works out great!

I will include that in the next video that I do when we eat the oranges and lemons. We have not turned on a heater this whole winter :-) we just went on a four day run without any sunlight, and the very low temperatures on those coldest nights were just barely under 40°.
