I dont have a very large budget due to my 9$ an hour job. however after my bills I like to buy what I can afford. I have a couple 1/10oz gold coins but am saving to get a 1/2oz coin to avoid the huge premiums. I'm very nervous about it but also have no idea which gold coin to go for. I'm interested in the maples which I've found for the lowest premiums. You have a very impressive stack and your videos are always helpful and great to watch. cheers mate

Nice comparison of the different sizes, I buy gold coins between 1/10 Oz and 1/2 Oz.
My favorite size is 1/2 Oz, especially the german 100€ gold coins (cheapest 1/2 Oz gold coins in Germany).

I agree completely with the 1/4 oz and the 1 oz sizes being the most appealing to me, especially the Queen's Beast Series, I would love to acquire the complete set as it becomes available. Even in the 1/4 oz size they have amazing detail easily seen.

    But many forget.
You get the premium back if you sell if you buy cheap.
But if price of gold double, maybe the premium do not.
But i think you should avoid buying below 1/10 oz.
Im not in gold because i think the goldprice is too high.
I remelber gerrin 75 Dollar at the banc for a quarter ounce.
All gold is worth 8 trillion.
This because of the funcrion as juwelery and safe heaven.
Silver as comparison is woth less then a billion, even it is used ao much in industry.

Do you ever buy sovereigns? I was curious what the European dealers buy and sell those for. Here in the US I've seen quite a few deals lately that are under spot once you factor in credit card cashback, and a few were over 5% under spot. Is there any downside to just stacking these and ignoring any gold with a premium? I realize there probably won't be any appreciation beyond spot, but I would think they could be liquidated pretty easily if needed.

Most of gold I've bought has been 1/20 and not anything current some even proofs but picked most of them up cheaper than current coin releases. Deals can be found when it comes to gold if you not too fussy and search it out and for me definitely being in uk gold better value than silver so works better for selling if you have to sell. Not that i have or plan to but i think every bit of gold i bought i could sell for a profit and you just don't know what will happen today never mind tommorrow. So good to have options and i do feel gold gives you that if bought at a good price and with equity in it. Knowledge is key in that like most things helps gain a little edge in your favour.

So fantastic coin is the 5 ouncer. I agree in the point to save some cold cash and buy a larger coin isntead of buying smaller coins often becasuse the premiums will eat a lot of your money. Even if you buy at higher spot, it is better to buy biggers instead of the tiny ones.

    Great topic for this video
I own 1/4oz to 1oz and I would have to go with 1/2oz as the ideal size in my opinion. It's a good mix of low premium with a good pool of buyers. With that said I haven't struggled to sell 1oz gold on the secondary market.

      @shadowstack3608  7 лет назад +1

+CraveThatCoin People that say 1 oz gold will be hard to sell, don't know what they are talking about imo, even at 10k an ounce it will sell all day long to a dealer.

That's true, I've never sold to a dealer but it makes sense 1oz to them is nothing. I have sold 3 1oz gold Britannia's through Gumtree and not had any issues doing so.

You can take the 2017 mintage figure with a pinch of salt. Numistacker did a video on the mintage and highlighted the 1/10th saying it was 300 ( basically because he has one and wants to take someone' money off them) Check the 2017 mintage figures here, add all 3 columns together for the exact total
