This is amazing. I love how this song and the scenes you've chosen emphasise the moments where the fog discover their lingering inner emotions. Who or whatever created them made them fully sentient and with personality but without experience and therefore these beings have to go through all the emotional struggles we humans have our whole lives to flesh out. Not these poor things. This is probably one of the most under explored but most important themes in the whole show.
Totally wasn't thinking that deeply when i made this xD, its more of this works so ill go with it. But i've actually been thinking that the fleet of fog are man made and wait for it...sent from the future to stop mankind from ravaging the planet of its resources. they are kinda like AI in games that function using a set of scenarios. The problems start when something outside of the scenario occurs that the AI isn't able to deal with.
ImagineMaker My personal headcanon was a simple alien invasion scenario. But the aliens work by observing the planet from afar and send nanobot computers mimicking the current military technology of what they see. My guess is they were a certain amount of light years away and what they saw was old 20th century naval ships as our most widespread advanced military technology. So they mimic that, and also humans (mental models/union cores) down to the very last fiber of our beings but without realizing it mimicking human emotions had unforseen consequences. Which led to them going astray from their programmed instructions. I know it's a pretty corny "Humans are so unique" story but I like it because it fits with all the advanced technology, the sentience of the fog, and their apparent lack of knowledge of who they are and where they came from, as they were simply tools or weapons and not the actual aliens themselves.
I have come back to this AMV many times now and I still love it. Great work, bro, even after all these years this is by FAR the best AMV I have ever seen
Amazing work, man! I wish I could forget the story just to have more fun of re-watching the original series, but you AMV reminded me, that Aoki Hagane deserves to be re-watched at least once a year just to be impressed by visuals and music.
Thanks, honestly what you described is a lot easier to do for most people me included, slow songs are a pain to work because longer cuts have to be used making it a hell of a lot easier for the video to be taken down by copyright strikes.
You can almost recreate the excitement of the music of you are in an “epic” situation for example when you brawl a BB in world of warships it gives out so much excitement that it goes even further beyond AHHH!

Heard there was an event when Fleet of fog ships were available in-game, been planning to play wow for sometime now but i'm at work 90% of the time and can't even play at home cause of the data load when using my phone to connect to the internet.
I think I may be the only person that thinks that the movie was not needed because of it there can't be a season two or more because of iona pretty much dying one of the shows main characters is dead and the reason they were fighting are gone I would have preferred that happening several seasons later
Don't know if its just me that noticed but there's a slight chance that iona isn't dead, when u think about she cant actually die, the same way your laptop runs out of power and shutdowns is basically the same thing iona did at the end. Her core is probably still fine waiting for someone to fish it out of the ocean and recharge it. Watch the second movie to the end after the credits gunzou meets someone off screen at a graveyard and says "welcome back" with the next shot being of Iona's necklace, obvious foreshadowing is obvious xD
ImagineMaker if you didn't notice in the movie Iona said she would be assimilated or absorbed by yamato and that at the end she was saying goodbye to gunzou
Been a while since i watched the movie, but she might have a backup, or uploaded her data to a sister core of the same series, cause someone was definitely there at the end, though it could have been his mother that rarely ever shows up visiting finally deciding to show up after all this while......... but then again final scene of the necklace/pendant couldn't have been there just to mess with us ;-;
It was probably a grave for Gunzou's parents. Moreover other Fog fleets still exist, what Kongo destroyed in the show was only a small *fraction* of the American fleet given how many fucking Nagaras the Oriental fleet has and how large proportionally the American fleet has to be compared to the Oriental one. We also have the Australian, Canadian, Russian, and various European Fog fleets still out there now left completely to their own devices.
I mean I absolutely love this anime, but I don't really see what more they could make without drastically changing what the genre is. The only way I could see them continue the show is by going into how the world moves forward now that the fleet of fog is free, and what the fleet of fog does now.
