I can’t wait to hear her name now! You guys picked out very classy names, which I love. My husband and I had the name Sophie Marie picked out for a very long time until we got pregnant with our daughter and fell in love with the name Emily Ann so that’s what we went with. She’s definitely an Emily!

I LOVE the old timey name Eleanor. Since getting married we had always picked out Madden Reece for a little girl…last minute we went with Maura Elise. And so glad we did 😊
Aw Ellie has such an old soul, you can tell in her decorating style, but in such classic names as well! I could totally see a Madison in your family though. That one fits in really well. Madison Mecham.

Such beautiful names! My husband and I had a similar experience. We had picked the name Ashlyn Taylor if we were to ever have a girl. Well fast forward 13 years and we finally had our girl. ( After 3 boys and thinking we were done.) almost immediately after finding out we were having a girl, her name changed. She just didn't feel like Ashlyn. We still loved the name Taylor but as a first name. Then our oldest suggested using my middle name with it. So she is named Taylor ( my husband's middle name ) and Paige ( my middle name ) it couldn’t be more perfect for her. She is our Taylor Paige. 🥰

We had a similar experience with our son's name! We have two daughters and they are 6 and 9. So with each of them we had a boy named picked out for years but we obviously had two girls so it just stuck in our minds. When we found out we were having a son earlier this year we decided we didn't want to use our name we had for so long anymore. The name we had was Carson but we ended up naming him Phoenix. 🥰

My husband and I had our daughter's name picked before we got pregnant with our first son Caleb Ryan, then came Joshua Lee and Ian Francis Scott ( middle names after each of our maternal grandpa's)! Finally came our daughter Ireland Kinsley Grace, definitely not a common/popular name where we live! I am so happy for your beautiful family, as for my guess maybe Hazel. Can't wait to find out what name you chose for your baby girl!
I love how u mentioned Ida. I have a friend named Ida and she lives in Finland. She was a exchanged student at my school. I never heard that name before until I met Ida. I love that name. It's unique, sweet and just beautiful.
Can’t wait to see what baby girls name is. After learning about the name from your son, we ended up naming our son Calvin (3.5) and it’s so funny to me that he also has blonde hair and brown eyes! We now have a 2m old son named Wyatt Anderson.
My daughter was Amanda all the while I was pregnant, as soon as she was born, at first sight I knew she wasn't Amanda - she was Amber. LOL her head was so small and petite. Her name will be who she is......loved, precious and special!! God Bless Baby Girl Mecham!!!

We used family names too. Our son was named after my husband’s little brother who passed away in infancy. I’m currently 35 weeks with our own little girl and I’ve dreamed of using both my grandma’s names since I can remember. My husband also loves the name, so that’s what we went with :)

I have 3 boys (Jeffrey, Steven, and Christropher). I was 41 when I got pregnant (unexpectedly) and I was just sure it was going to be a girl. Her name was Erin Elizabeth; however, his name turned out to be Chris. LOL I am so excited you are having a little girl. She will be so loved and protected by her older brothers!!!! Exciting times for sure.

So excited to see what her name is! Before kids, I always thought we would use Sophia Ann and my husband liked Jaedyn Nicole, but family members used those names. We ended up having 5 children and ended up using an H for all of their names. Our girls are Hannah Grace and Hattie Grace. I also always liked the name Ava. I thought it was such a sweet name.
In my grade at school we had 3 Brittanys haha. That was a very popular name!
I was a the only Kate I knew for ages and when I grew up my friend group we had three of us 😂 I work wit. 3/4 of them.
I'm grateful I wasn't called Hattie by my mother! My father mentioned the name Harriet, and my mother knew straight away, that that would be my name.

I have a cousin Pearl! I remember when she was born everyone thought the name was way too unique. Now she is 14 and I could not imagine her as anyone other than Pearl.

I'm 32 weeks with my Grace Evelyn. She chose her first name. Every time I was at my lowest growing up, I had a dream about a little girl running up to me, saying, "hi mom, I'm Grace." I must have had that dream a dozen times, the same little girl each time. Evelyn means wished for, so I chose that because I wanted her to know how much I wanted her. It's so much fun picking out names, so I'm happy y'all are sharing your lists.

Hi Jared and Ellie, before getting pregnant I always wanted a daughter to call Amelia Jane. I even wrote a poem with this in! However years later when I got pregnant my baby would turn somersaults when I played Lara’s Theme, from Dr Zhivago. I took this as a sign and called her Lara Nicole. ❤
My daughter's name is Jessalynn. My favorite girl name, Melody, was struck down by my hubby. We went over and over girl names until I remembered a name from a book series I read as a teen that had a character named Tessa. I asked my hubby, "What about Tessa Lynn?" (Lynn was my grandpa's name) he didn't like it so I tweaked it a bit and put it together as Jessalynn and he loved it 😄 our second was a boy, then I got pregnant with my 3rd baby and hubby actually agreed to Melody if it was a girl! Turned out to be a boy lol

My official guess for baby’s actual name is Caroline. Jackson, Calvin, Tommy and Caroline I think sound fond together

I loved hearing all your names. I had a baby girl 9 months ago and her name is Madisyn Jean. My husband really liked Ida but with our last name King I didn’t like Ida King plus our friend had a dog named Ida. I had students with both spellings of Lyla/Lila.
I loved the name Leah too, we put "Ma" infront of it but we played with the letters and spell it like " Maleiah" it has the same sounding as Leah just with the (Ma) sound at the front. Some people spell it as Maleia. Alot of people pronounce it wrong when they read it at first. It is such a perfect name for her, you just know the name of your baby when it really clicks to you... She is 9 months old and we are currently 13 weeks pregnant with baby #5 !! starting the baby naming again and so excited to find the perfect one !!
I have a great niece named Lyla Raye, My daughter is dealing with infertility right now, we have often discussed baby names. She loves the older names as well. For years she loved Madeline Kate because my mother in law(her nana) is named Madeline. My moms name is Sina, she was named from the Bible and Mt Sinai. This is precious I named my daughter Lorian Grace it was so different my sons name is Mason Andrew but i love Lyla ....I love Brook-Lyn and also Mckenna , Dehlila, Dahlia, and Devannie....just a few fun ones cant wait to see what her name is...
We were going to name our daughter Leah, but when I saw her I knew she was Sara. It fits her perfectly, even as an adult❤️

I love classic names, there is just something about them, that we cannot let go of. Charlotte Willow Mecham has always somehow been a name I thought you would consider. Who knows, I may or may not have just changed your mind as well.

Lyla seems like the correct spelling to me! My daughters name is Mira, pronounced “mee-ruh”. My cousins ask me “doesn’t that spelling make it ‘my-ruh’” 😂 I told them “No! Miracle is not pronounced ‘my-racle’” 😂😂😅 I love all the names you mentioned!

Everyone thought my baby boy’s name was unconventional as well, but it also feels strong and masculine. His name is Monroe Graham. We loved it the second we heard it! And Graham is a family name - it flowed well!

In Germany, you would spell it Laila and pronounce it Lila/Lyla, which just looks really pretty to me with the two A's ☺️
My sister has a little girl named Ada. (A- as in “say”). Kind of close to Ida. My youngest is named Isla June. (Eye-lah). I love all of these older names, they are so timeless and sweet!

We always had Elizabeth picked out and then when we finally got pregnant we found out our baby was a girl. I found the name Maeverie (Mae and Averie combined) and we both stopped in our tracks. We knew that was our girl’s name.

My daughter is Amelia and her nickname is Milly. She’s 10. We ran into a girl recently that was in her 20’s that’s name is Amelia and her nickname is Millie. I picked her name because of Millie’s cafe in my hometown of Springfield Mo. I would go there when I was in high school and after I graduated. I always thought it was such a pretty name that I wanted to name my daughter that but as a Nick name. Then one day Amelia came across my path and I knew that would be my daughters name. 13 years later I got to use that name and nickname!

I've seen in spelled both ways, but seeing it written out, I tend to go towards Ellie's way of spelling it. I love the name Alice. It's my grandma's name. It seems you like a lot of older names, so I won't be surprised if the name you choose is an older name. Our 4th, and only girl, name is Gabriella Mae. We actually typed it out in a pretty font, and compared it to the other names we were looking at, and just fell even more in love with it. And now that she's a 4 y.o. (only a week older than your Tommy), it suits her so well!! Can't wait to see the name you all chose!!

Awe! Our first is Everlee Ann! Everlee is a mix of Evelyn and Lee, my great grandmother and my dads middle name. Ann is my MIL middle name.

Betty was my grandmother's name. My friend named her daughter Ida (16 years ago). We almost named one of our girls Norah. All such beautiful names.
My baby was born in February and I named her Madalena Francis ❤
