  • Pros and cons of buried tanks.
We ran out of propane last year in the middle of winter so we upgraded our tank to a buried tank.

Crazy year is right. Already goofy and glad you got the tank working and buried. Always good to be improving and sounds like those worthless (Yeah, right) batteries are doing the job! That's what they're there for. Keep on surviving, hug the dozer and God Bless ALL yall and the semi-froze bulldog! I'd like to give that pup a good rubbing!

I'm so jealous of how far you guys have come. It's not good mentally to compare my self to you lol. See you guys tomorrow. You guys have a tough choice to make, they are all fat and happy.

Most excellent. Good job on you guys. I can’t wait to see the deck, and who knows, maybe it will take of like the patio cover video.

That should help if you have a long cold snap in the future.
In ground tanks are better in extreme cold. It's a factor of as you draw vapor out of the tank the liquid boils makeing the tank cold.
If it's say -20f and your running a generator at say 2 gal an hour.
Things will get mity frosty quick.
    .
Basically the heat in the ground helps keep it warmer and the LP doesn't freeze in the tank/line.
    .
And on the flip side, it keeps it cooler in summer, allowing for 90% fills where above ground tanks are ""supposed"" to be no more then 80%
But a good person that fills tanks, understands that in a cold climate and with steady use 85% is OK. Granted its not osha approved.

Nice instal Scot, looks mush neater with the tank underground. Just wondering, is gas cheaper than oil in your area?

Ive never priced oil so Im not sure. But what I do know is propane is half what diesel costs and a company gave me an outrageous bid to put in a diesel generator a few years back. SOOOO glad I passed!

So they didn't want it in a vault so it could be inspected?
Are you renting it or did you by the tank?

I purchased. I should have spent a few more minutes explaining what the sacrificial bags were for....

@@HiddenValleyHomestead I know all about the electrolysis anodes and cathodes from putting in cast iron sewer pipe and ductile iron water pipes. Over here in eastern Idaho I have been told that the propane companies won't sell the tanks, because they are having a tough time getting them and the price is going up from the time they order them and the time they receive them.
