  • I’m always fascinated when childhood collections are rediscovered after decades in storage, like the one in this video. Because these cards were played with and handled by the original owner, who was probably 8 to 10 years old at the time, the cards show corner wear, creasing or in some cases, have tape marks on them. In the late 50's and early 60's there was ZERO thought given to taking care of bubble gum cards. Their intended purpose was to be abused! I realize not everyone feels this way when they see low grade cards today, but to me, there is something magical about going through piles of cards that were once the domain of a kids pants pocket or shoebox. Going through an original collection is like a time machine that makes you feel like it’s 1963 all over again! By the time you watch this video, some of the cards in this collection will already be up for auction on eBay under our user ID Vahoota, [ ebay.com/usr/v... ], with more to follow.
If you reside in Canada and would to sell or consign your vintage or high-end modern sports cards to us, we’d love to work with you and try to get you market value for your collection. To learn how you can consign with us please visit our website at aasportscards.com.
P.S. YES, THIS VIDEO IS OUT OF FOCUS. I WAS TRYING SOMETHING NEW and obviously something went wrong! I make these videos in one take, with no script or rehearsal. I do this so my reaction to the cards and conversation on camera is authentic! I decided to stick to that model and not re-shoot the video. Hope you enjoy! #thehobby #whodoyoucollect #aasportscards
