Greg Salazar - Spends hours cleaning with cotton ear buds to make it clean.
Tech Yes Man - shoves everything in the kitchen sink and throw some detergent. LOL
You can feel the force of Aussie, right?
Linus Tech Tips - Dishwasher Machine
Tech Yes Ultrasonic Loving FTW!
It can be summed up by the old saying; work smart, not hard.
Greg Salazar: no you can't just wash pc parts with water
Tech Yes City: hahaha water go swhoosh
he just washed that psu like it's his towel 😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
After watching all these videos I started fixing my hardware after my daughters spill dinks on them with distilled water.
The #1 thing that makes you different from others, you're realistic. You don't use the best of the best parts, you use what you find and what you have for the best value. That #1 difference makes you #1.
Oh, he would use the best parts, if they were available at a good price.
Everybody love clean trash, and tech yes cleaning !
WOW ! The next morning was hard to believe . That's crazy !
I'm glad you're supporting PCs that have experienced strokes, one in the CPU cooler and one in the GPU
Using tap water goes against every tech instinct in my body. Good to know you're a Pro
Go with your instincts, distilled water is cheap.
Tap water is used in MAKING the parts!
And this was the introduction of "Stroke Bogan"
I really want you to test comparable sprays from the US to see which is the closest to the oz export spray. Id say its most likely CRC 3-36 followed by power lube as WD40 is too thick here
Hey, do you have CRC 5-56 in the US, it’s pretty close to the export brand he uses in consistency from memory.
Sonicating baths are standard lab equipment. I never thought to use mine to clean PC parts but now I know how. Thanks Brian.
Going to try the $20 pocket ultrasonic washing machines/dishwashers (use any tube size). Only 20 dollars, 2 years later. Any tube size, bathtube if you want. Only part way through this video.
Always hold fans when blowing with air. You can damage them or other components such as when it was plugged into motherboard. And don't stack electronics in an ultrasonic cleaner, its vibrating, your vibrating the computer parts against each other at an extremely high frequency.
As the wise Greta once said 'BLAH BLAH BLAH'
Yes, used PP, my fave. Super vid Brian.
When using Tab water, the minerals can cause problems! also be careful that you don't use conductive spray
I still have a I5-750 + hd5850 from 2009 working great!
If I tried doing this with my computer, my whole house would catch on fire.
Oh man, that ultrasonic cleaner is a beacon of hope. I got a lot of parts from my brother, who smokes day and night in front of his PC and eventually complained it wouldn't work right anymore. I gagged when I opened the case. Can you do an episode on dealing with a smoker's PC?
One Word!! EXCELLENT!!! Very interesting seeing the ultrasonic used. I wonder though with the fans...some fans have an oil based barring, do you recommend re-oiling those types of fans or is the USC not aggressive enough to get into that part of those fans?
The only thing that I would be reluctant about submersing in water are the fans. Shouldn't the bearings at least be taken apart and lubricated after drying them out? 🤔
I have gotten some good results washing out old motherboards and using a hair dryer or heat gun on low settings to dry them out afterward. Nice video Brian! Love the finished product! 👍👍
Looks like I need some funding to invest on some of the swell cleaning supplies. It's always a thrill to see how this old, forgotten PC got their long deserved makeover and a fresh breath of life.
I feels soooo wrong seeing a power supply under water.
@@youtubeisgarbage900 i know, it just feels wrong ;)
20 minutes of Tech Yes lovin' ? Oh man, is it my birthday already?
Man every time I see an upload brings a smile to my face
Deep cleaning at its best 💓
TECHYES Lovin! Still that washing is insanely mind blowing
I'm concerned water could get into the electrolytic capacitors and cause havoc ? Also better be dry conditions in order to not allow condensation to form.
You really are the king of used rigs!!
What a great banger....nice finish. Great color scheme.
Numb Jaw Bryan is quite the character lol.
Can i use WD 40?
I'm too lazy to clean but it is satisfying watching a professional do it.
just to reiterate: DI water immediately becomes conductive when anything else is introduced to it - for example dust.
Ultrasonic cleaner is a very fancy word for dishwasher :p
14:00 "Dentists Yes City"😂😂💪🏻💪🏻
3:42 what a save “rocket leagues guy voice”
want your CPU to run cooler? switch directions of the fans you installed and add an extra fan on the back!
the airflow direction is only running hot air onto your CPU
you need to have air being pulled into the case not out of the case i would also reviser the fan on the front of the case also so you can air enter the back of the computer and leave though the front since you don't have any vents on the top of the case....
only a personal suggestion!
Its a wild TYC
I like it.
Holy shit that thing is absolutely filthy!!!
You know that bright shiny area - it's called outside in the non-technical world - you can take dusty parts and blow the dust off them there rather just moving the dust from the components to your room
Very brave cleaning under a tap. The logic is sound but I couldn't do it myself :)
Now i can say I've seen everything wow
I love the '90s Brit Rock look!
Spoken like a true Gold Coast ICE addict.
Greg Salazar - uses gloves to protect himself and his family
Tech Yes Man - does matrix to avoid dust
Nice to see you finally got an ultrasonic cleaner, mate!
Oh,whoa!!!!!
This IS looking great!¡!
Finally got the ultrasonic! 👌🏻
Pro tip: cleaning, drying (alcohol bath) then dry again. Alcohol will displace the water and evaporates quickly.
Also an ultrasonic with wave oscillation is the best for mobos / repairs
Tech Yesss!!! Your cleaning vids are the best!!
I was about to go off on you and say that just because you didn't install a fan on a cooler doesn't mean it's a passive cooler by design, but then you realized that during the upgrade and added a fan to it. ;-D
This was super cool. If I ever get to a high enough level of volume I'm getting one of those cleaners. Cant wait for the next one!
Suggestion: Next time you should run benchmarks while its dirty as well to compare with the cleaned version. Obviously it's going run better with a new cpu and graphics card, but It be would be really interesting to see how much of a difference getting all that crap off made too.
What is the best way to clean without an ultrasonic cleaner?
@@charlescadogan8504 Elbow grease and 99% alcohol
Wow can't wait to throw my PC in the Kitchen Sink to clean it too.........wonder if I should unplug it first?
Using an air cleaner that close to a motherboard or GPU would not risk moving/removing a capacitor?
As always , my favourite tech guy ❤️
Im just wondering, making the fan on the gpu spin like that with the duster doesnt that turn it into a generator and then fry some chips? Or is there something in place to prevent this?
More vids after dentist, please! xD
Wow I learned a lot here. That cpu cooler off centre would annoy the fk out of me 😂
Didnt think id ever see someone running a tap directly into a power supply...
But if it works, it works!
Finally not just me washing the computers.
few aesthetic recommendations: the inside of the case is black, switch the psu to a black one, which will also match the gpu and to keep that colour scheme -as you did w/the ram, dominator ddr3,right?-also make the bling fans red.
p.s. the mobo is shite,so no matter what you plug into it,its still shite.
great work Bri,keep 'em tech yes vids commin'!
p.s.2 did the owner keep it in a sawmill or a barn?
Something is not right... there is 0 chance that psu would be fully dried from just using that air blower and 1 day of drying...
Honestly surprised it didn’t blow up lol!
which ultrasonic cleaner would you recommend for an ATX size motherboard?
How can you submerse electronic components in water and not damage them. Power Supplies, video cards, MB's etc. I would have thought they would be destroyed.
Numb our minds with numb dental mouth, oh my! LOL good vid, noice clean and upgrade.
what is the alternative to the Multi-Purpose Spray? is it similar to WD-40? I don't think they sell the Multi-Purpose Spray from where I live
You had to relub the fans after ultra-sounded them!
so i'm very interested in how you clean the electronics, is their some kind of liquid you use cause i know water can break electronics so i think you are using something else i'm just a noob but i want to learn how to clean my stuff properly in the future. any help or adivce would be appreciated :)
Is this machine going to be called the Tech Yes Lover?
What do you do with parts that are close to obsolescence like that 5850?
You can find ultrasonic cleaner so easily here in Thailand :)
Definitely a highly recommended tool to have in your DIY batcave
I like your “Bully like” style!!
I like this format! Keep it up!
Can you use a tub of ethinal with a water pump to clean a pc
This was awesome! Thank you.
That cpu cooler looks so weird why is it sideways
Pcbs are ok to wash with water. But not fans they have some kind of lubricant you could wash it away and thats bad for the motor...
A second bath in some Everclear or Isopropyl alcohol would help clean and make it dry way quicker! That said, I love how you show all the naysayers that water can touch electronics without destroying them!
liquid name which u used with water?
also how many Little is this cleaner? will 3 litter is ok for Mobo?
Just dishwasher soap is ok.
The most important part is drying all components for 3 days, if possible, create DIY incubator box as if you're trying to hatch a chicken. This way you can dry off Electric components easily
I wonder if you could fill that ultrasonic cleaner with 90% Isopropyl and skip all the other steps since it would evaporate after you left them out of the solution for a few min.
Then just scoop out the debris with a fish net from a pet store or something.
I'm still mystified by "Multi purpose spray". Is it like WD-40, mineral spirit? Doesn't it become an oily dust magnet? Or does it dry, like a silicone spray? I'm in the USA,
yeah its just a cheap domestic brand of WD-40. I think it dries out when you leave it, or maybe he goes over it with the dust-vac again.
Ram ddr3 ...8gb or 16gb ?
Is this for real washing pc parts with soap and water? if so can I just use my dish washer?
How long did you have dry the components for after washing?
1: he used towel
2: waited a while till looked dry
3: blew air on it (could also use heater)
4: you're left with some water residue that won't evaporate. That's why he used the spray which inlcudes water dispersant. You can use alcohol for this too.
5: he then let it overnight. If you alcohol, it's enough to leave it 5-15 minutes after this
what is the cleaning solution that u used ?
Red Alert Hell March!!
Ultrasonic Cleaner????
Is this the right channel.
OH my god. Now I have excuse to put a kitchen on my garage :)
I wonder what @Greg Salazar have to say about this kind of method 🤔
Does this void water damage warranty?
Anyone used an ultrasonic cleaner with a bath of Isopropyl Alcohol? maybe an option if you can provide enough ventilation ?
Heard it was a real fire risk. Supposedly some people fill the cleaner with water, then add another bowl inside the water.filled with 99 percent alcohol for less risk. Don't know if it works tho.
@@christophermacias1334 Oh I know that IPA is highly flammable, I was thinking of outdoors on the end of a l o n g extension, poss sitting on a concrete slab
That would be a dangerous situation even with ventilation. I would imagine the ultrasonic waves would cause substantially more alcohol to evaporate than normal, especially in a very arid environment.
www.google.com/search?q=ultrasonic+cleaner+with+a+bath+of+Isopropyl+Alcohol+fire
Please tell me the size of this ultra Sonic cleaner (in liter)
14:00 best part 🤣
I would rather wait over night for the parts to properly dry and then put the spray on them. Spray can block some water from drying in places where it takes longer for the water to evaporate.
Better to use distilled water, then IPA bath, then in the oven for an hour on low heat.
he lives in Australia, 30 minutes outside would be more than enough to dry it out :D
you don't link the spray but at around 10:55 if you slow the video down to 0.25 play speed you can get a look at the spray can OP tries to hide from the camera.
Seeing you putting water in the power supply. I thought I was watching something cursed
I wonder what can be done with 'discarded' X370s or B350's by using low end Zen 2 CPU/ APUs?
Wow its so weird seeing some put electronics under a kitchen tap
Oh so that's how you clean Pc's
What I do not get is that if you still going to put everything under the sink water outlet?, Why using the ultrasonic cleaner?, Whats the benefit of it, if you can "shower" each part on the sink anyways? Thanks and sorry for the english is not my natural language.
