    • @juliantrueman6542
      @juliantrueman6542 7 лет назад +14

      My guess is no. Liquids like water (which is what most of soaps and stuff are made of) don't expand much at all in low pressure, and there's only a little bit of air left in that pouch of plastic. Hopefully even if that tiny amount of air expanded quite a bit, the bag would be strong enough to handle it.
      It would be cool to see though!

    • @colleenforrest7936
      @colleenforrest7936 7 лет назад

    • @nickfarnham3321
      @nickfarnham3321 7 лет назад +3

      Quinten Vermeulen that is untrue. A phone charger or any other 110 volt to usb converter consumes energy when plugged in. There is a transformer inside the block part that steppes down the voltage so that your phone's battery can charge safely. although you do not have a load connected to the end of the usb the transformer is always stepping down the voltage,consuming power. Always follow the directions on any appliance. The people that engineer them are smarter than both of us

    • @sjm4306
      @sjm4306 7 лет назад

      I've designed switching power converters and inverters and can confirm that they consume quiescent current even without a load due to inefficiencies in passives as well as the semiconductors in the converter which continue to operate even without any load plugged in. Additionally in order to maintain the output voltage without a device plugged in there is a token high value load resistor in parallel with the output to provide stability for the compensator to continue performing regulation, otherwise plugging and unplugging a USB device would cause nasty voltage swings on the output that the compensator would have trouble dealing with due to finite PID gains and factors such as windup and limits on pwm duty.

    can you put enought pressure on watter to turn it in ice with a machine

    • @AWIERD1
      @AWIERD1 7 лет назад +2

      THE YOLO SQUAD yes you can using a vacuum chamber and a vacuum pump. With water in the chamber and the vacuum pump on it will lower the pressure and the boiling point to where it's boiling at room temperature. Because water is changing from a liquid to a vapor it will continue to carry away heat until it reaches 0°c and turns to solid ice.
      It's not recommended to do this without having a way to prevent water vapor traveling through the vacuum pump.
      It's also why computer dusters get cold after spraying for extended periods and how your air conditioners condition your air. All through a change of state going from liquid to gas.

    • @pieceofbacon9775
      @pieceofbacon9775 7 лет назад +1

      Jonathan Roeder I think THE YOLO SQUAD is referring if it's possible to ADD pressure and turn it to ice. And to answer that question, no. You're adding energy which is pretty much raising the temperature of the water.

    How the heck did you seal one off after there's liquid in it?

    • @keithcarlson6038
      @keithcarlson6038 7 лет назад +1

      GD C1rculatum Right, but he's laying the bags flat to cut/seal them... how does he do that without the liquid leaking out? I guess he used another method with the bag vertical. That he didn't show.

    • @Joelbrace2
      @Joelbrace2 7 лет назад +2

      I guess put it near the table edge and let it hang over? Then cut the bag like normal.

    • @keithcarlson6038
      @keithcarlson6038 7 лет назад

      Yeah, that would work. Or use two hot wires that can be clamped together on both sides of the bag... kinda like commercial food bag sealers do.

    • @HellYeahCorp
      @HellYeahCorp 7 лет назад +1

      Or he zipped the filled bag shut and then cut and sealed off the lock part.

    • @TheKingofRandom
      @TheKingofRandom  7 лет назад +44

      Great question! By using a cooler hanger, I pressed on the edge to keep it from separating and used the heated hanger to cut and seal the bag.

    This came in very handy with my Blue Spruce tree seeds. In order to plant the small seeds, they first have to germinate in some wet sand in the refrigerator for a month. Since the seeds are so small, I can put 5 seeds and sand in a small pouch. And wala , we can grow a Blue Spruce in our new yard when we move.

    Idea: Would you damage a laptop if you spill liquid nitrogen on the keyboard?

    • @BitchyBoxxy
      @BitchyBoxxy 7 лет назад +4

      No liquid nitrogen isn't conductive. And the coldness can even slow electrons down to standstill.

    • @eddieg098
      @eddieg098 7 лет назад +11

      Would the cold crack the plastic or PCB? Would those cracks break the copper traces on the underlying board? I think it could damage the laptop despite it not being conductive. let's find out! 😀
