Highly underrated bikes,I have allways lusted after a buell, and after 20 + years on other bikes, I now own a 2002 thunderbolt, I'm sorry I didn't get one years ago!
Most enjoyable bike I've ever owned.
Such a simple engine design, yet so much fun to ride.
Mine has the buell race header+exhaust with race ecu and carbon air cleaner
Get one while you can, you won't regret it.

Love your S3! I have a 2001 S3 and have had a glorious 28,000 miles so far. Penske shock and gold valve forks too.

Such a beautiful bike. Just yesterday, a friend contacted me asking if I would be interested in a 1998 Thunderbolt S3 touring model. After watching your videos, I'm interested in it. Thank you.

Same bike was passed down from my grandfather (Never got to meet him) to my father, and now that I’m 18, I’ve pretty much assumed ownership over my grandfathers former motorcycle because my dad doesn’t pay too much attention to it. My grandfathers bike isn’t as put together as this one is here but that Harley engine mixed with the old thunder headers my grandfather put on her, she’s a gnarly beast. Never had anything break on or go bad on this bike besides a bad kickstand sensor, which I have bypassed since I have no intention on selling the bike, never changed anything from how my grandfather had it (he has an aftermarket set of headers and exhaust) I hope everyone can enjoy this motorcycle as much as I have, especially people my age. On a side note, I would love to state for this bikes age, it halls fucking ass!

Keep that bike forever! That’s great…. Or if you do decide to sell it, sell it to someone like me who will let you buy it back when you realize what a mistake you made

@@tomserbaducci8559 little update on the motorcycle. I’m 20 now and ride it every day to the gym! Absolutely an eye catcher. I will say I’m a little risky with the wheelies, but there is something special about a bright yellow buell on 1 wheel screaming down a backroad. Magical. I will NEVER EVER sell. No way!

Wow you have so many cool bikes, must be hard choice which to ride. Have you ever owned or rode the HD v-rod, curious of your thoughts. Thanks for the awesome videos.

Hey there dsonictube! I love motorcycles and enjoy racing, riding and repairing them. I have not owned a HD V-Rod but I have a few friends who own them and they really like them. They say they are one of the best HD's they have ever owned and that they are bullet proof.

How tall are you? The reason I ask is that I am 5’7” and the Ulysses I had were too high. I am going to look at a 2000 S3. Thanks Bob

Great video as usual. I love the tuber Buells. My 1999 Buell X1 lightning needs to have the shock rebuild like yours did. Do you have any more info on who did the rebuild for you.

Hello Two Sheds and thanks for watching and the comment! I like those Buells also but the rear Showa rear shocks almost all go bad after so many years or miles and it is hard to find anyone who can rebuild them. I sent mine to Brock's Performance in the UK. The rebuild charge was a little over $300 but the shipping to the UK was about $200 there and back. So about $500 total. It was worth it though because now it is riding like a dream and it makes the S3 a great bike again! When the shock was bad I did not even want to ride it.

Check with Race tech. Someone on bad web got theirs rebuilt there for a little under $300 but it was some years ago. Still I dont know why they couldnt do it. racetech.com/ProductSearch/12/Buell/X1%20Lightning/2001

Hi Mark, Nice bike. Getting in a few rides before the weather changes for the worse ?

Hey Gary thanks! It is appreciated! Yes I made a few videos while the weather was still warm enough to do rides with and I am pacing the uploads out. I have a couple more that I will be adding as the weeks go by. Then I will have to either wait until spring or make some in my garage while I work on the bikes.
