I still visit " George" his name is Jimmy and lives in Blairgowrie now and is still on the go at 98 years old. Love to see the Old Glenrothes ...been here all my 51 yrs.
Amazing! I was 6 years old in 59 and it is just how it was. The house at the beginning is exactly like the one I lived in, but to the left was lots of trees it could have been the next street before or after though? It was 'Reid Place' anyway. A big van would constantly drive in to the roads to sell groceries then and you would stand in queue, fantastic as a kid rambling about then!
The houses look very stark and prison-like compared to the houses in New Towns elsewhere in Britain, like Harlow or Stevenage. It looks like they were trying to save money even more in Scotland compared to England. Maybe something to do with that famous Presbyterian prudence - of never spending a penny more than you could get away with.

Then they built macidonia n the glenwood 😭
Ohh the joys of the concrete floored play parks back in the day … plenty broken heads and limbs 😮

She went to the town centre at the Rothes halls

Passionate gardeners? Walk around those houses now and you'll see weed infested eyesores with junk piled about.
Different kind of gardening now 😂
Trampoline city
Soaring strings! Such optismism about manufacturing and coal! Dressing up to see the Queen! And staggering sexism, of course.
