This video shed light on Paciano's often overlooked role in shaping the life and legacy of our national hero, José Rizal. While Rizal's contributions are widely celebrated, Paciano's sacrifices and unwavering support behind the scenes are truly remarkable. His selflessness in prioritizing his brother's potential over his own aspirations speaks volumes about his character and dedication to the Filipino cause. It's evident that without Paciano's guidance and encouragement, Rizal might not have achieved the heights of greatness that he did. Paciano's influence underscores the importance of family support and solidarity in shaping historical figures and national movements.

Thank you sir Chua for this lecture! Rizal was truly fortunate to have Paciano as his brother. They were really close, albeit Paciano had many other siblings. Paciano knew that Rizal was intelligent during his childhood days and it was really interesting how Paciano mold Rizal to be what he knew he is now. Paciano was one of the significant people that raised Rizal to be brave and contentious of the Spaniards. Additionally, I also learned from this lecture about the things I didn't know about the classic Luneta, its secret messages, and things we should have consider worth checking. Thanks again, sir Chua! :)

This video demonstrated how sincere Rizal is in assisting and serving the public. How he went into medicine, which was not in his intentions at first, but he did it for his mother and the sick. This is certainly an example for everyone else.

I appreciate you giving this interesting lesson on Paciano's life, Sir Xiao Chua. Even in the biography of Jose Rizal, which I studied in elementary and high school, not much was made clear about his life and contributions. It is nice to see how much he trusted Pepe and how much he served as a role model for his brother. Aside from that, his numerous accomplishments as a revolutionary himself must also be acknowledged. I wish that he could also receive more attention when learning about the history of our nation.

Thank you, Si Chua for this very insightful and informative discussion. Honestly, prior to watching this, all I really knew about Paciano was that he was Rizal's brother. Thanks to this video discussion, I got to learn more about him and the role he played in the revolution. It's truly heartwarming to see the close bond that Pepe and Paciano shared not only as brothers, but also from the perspective of a student-mentor relationship. Truly, Pepe was very fortunate to have Paciano as his brother. In the future, I hope that Paciano and his contributions will be taught in schools alongside other heroes like Rizal, Bonifacio, and others.

Thank you Sir Chua for this insightful discussion. I knew that Paciano is Jose Rizal’s brother, but through this I further understood him. It is just sad to know that his contribution to the revolution is not given much importance like other heroes. I do hope that Paciano’s contributions the revolution will also be taught in schools like how schools taught Rizal, Bonifacio, and other known figures of history with much importance.

In high school, my teachers never talked about Paciano. They should have because he had one of the greatest impacts on Jose Rizal’s life. Rizal grew up to be a hero because of Paciano’s sacrifices and his belief in Rizal’s capacities.

This is heartbreaking! Thank you, sir Chua for a very insightful discussion. Pepe was really lucky to have Paciano as his brother. I hope we get to know more about the life of Paciano (such as his contributions to independence and on the life of Rizal), and have it written on textbooks especially on schools and universities. This will be a great initiative to know more about the life of other heroes because they also became part of our very rich history.

This video shows the people that surround Rizal raised Rizal well. They taught, advised, and influenced Rizal to be a great example for everyone. And because of the good influenced by his family, it is not his initiative to help out people in need of medical care. But Rizal insisted and started helping them out even if it is far from his specialty in medicine.

Woah, over my course of learning Philippine history through out elementary and highschool, I don't think I was taught much about Paciano. Rizal was the hero that was recognized the most and repeatedly. Now I think about our other Filipino brothers and sisters who put effort towards winning the freedom of our country from the Spanish. I hope that in the next batch of students, other Filipino heroes such as Paciano would be talked about and studied more often as they have also contributed a united effort fighting for our country the Philippines.

I appreciate Prof. Chua's enlightening discussion on Paciano. Prof. Chua's discussion offered us additional understanding of the individuals who had an influence on Rizal's life, despite the fact that he was frequently ignored as a figure in Rizal's life. During my high school history classes, not a lot of information about his life and accomplishments was presented. Although I already knew that Paciano was Jose Rizal's brother, this helped me to understand him much better. One of the key figures that helped Rizal become a courageous and acerbic opponent of the Spaniards was Paciano.

Paciano Rizal, as Jose Rizal's older brother, provided crucial support, protection, and exposure to nationalist ideas, significantly influencing Rizal's journey towards becoming a Philippine hero. His unwavering guidance and financial assistance allowed Rizal to pursue education, advocate for reforms, and ultimately contribute to the fight for Philippine independence.

All I knew about Paciano Rizal before seeing this film was that he was Jose Rizal's brother and a commander who served in the Philippine-American War. Because of this enlightening presentation, I am now left wondering why Paciano appears to be an undervalued character in Philippine History. His efforts to our country's liberation were considerable and honorable enough to be recorded in history, yet the majority of Filipinos only knew him as Jose Rizal's brother.

They say that the apple does not fall from the apple tree. This famous line can be seen in the relationship between Paciano Rizal and his younger brother, Jose Rizal. Paciano Rizal's nationalism influenced and shaped Jose Rizal's ideals. Likewise, it is so great to know more about the brave individuals who went against the colonizers.

Honestly at this point, I think there are many members of the Rizal family that are worth appreciating more. Paciano was almost always just mentioned as Jose's brother in our textbooks. But thanks to this informative and fruitful discussion, I now know about his own contributions to the Filipino people. He himself also made an impact on the revolution, and he deserves to be remembered for those.

Prior to watching this video, all I knew about Paciano Rizal was that he was Jose Rizal's brother, and a general who fought in the Philippine-American war. Because of this informative lecture, I am now left wondering why Paciano seems to be an underrated figure in Philippine History. His contributions for the freedom of our country were very significant and worthy enough to be well-remembered in history, yet majority of Filipinos only know him as the brother of Jose Rizal. I hope that in the future, his name would be put in history books not only to be known as Jose Rizal's sibling, but also as someone who had a prominent role in the revolution. Paciano Rizal deserves to be given the same amount of recognition alongside other Filipino heroes who wholeheartedly fought for our country's freedom.

Before watching this video, I never really knew about Paciano's life as I've only learned about his brother, Rizal. Through this talk, I was able to know that Paciano had a huge impact on the life and aspirations of our national hero. Paciano sacrificed a lot of opportunities he could have claimed for himself but decided to give these to his little brother because Rizal was smarter, insinuating that he could do a whole lot more for the Filipinos. Nevertheless, because of Paciano's efforts and support for his brother, Rizal was able to become the person he was and is now hailed as the Philippines's national hero.

Personally, I believe there are still a lot of Rizal family members who merit greater appreciation. In our textbooks, Paciano was practically never described other than as Jose's brother. I'm not sure what Paciano's role is in this situation. There is no evidence that Paciano's letter in Rizal's home was ever actually read. Paciano made a significant contribution to the country and is currently being praised for it. But as a result of this interesting and educational conversation, I am now aware about his own accomplishments to the Filipino people. He ought to be recognized for the contributions he personally contributed to the movement.
