Its not exactly the same (pretty close though) but I use glossy cardstock...the colours stay amazingly vibrant. I love the look. Try it and see what you think! Good luck!
also another thought I just had is to try and put micro glaze over the top when dry. It's usually used for sealing a background but doesn't hurt to experiment 😊
Gorgeous gorgeous cards Mindy! Love that you just went for it with those sprays and weren't afraid of the color mixing to brown, because as you noted they do end up looking fantastic!
You have definitely inspired me. I want to go play now. Is there a spray that we can use that will take away the chalky finish of the oxides? If not, Tim should invent one, he'd make another million in a flash. I know there are others out there who love the way the oxides work, but aren't really loving the chalky finish. Especially when you use some distress ink and oxide on the same panel. I want a consistent finish. Not necessarily gloss, or mat, just consistency

FAB! update...I had to go do this technique because it looked so fun and I haven't pulled out the sprays in a long time. I will just say that I used some cheapo 'mixed media' paper that I got from wal-mart and it worked just fine. (I didn't have heavy paper) I thought oh gosh this stuff is going to be way too thin, but it embossed like a charm and it totally held up to the massive spraying that I did. just an fyi for those crafters who might not have heavy stock

I really enjoyed this video. I was just spraying 3d embossed panels yesterday. I love creating backgrounds using sprays, and it brings me so much joy. Crackling Campfire and Salvaged Patina are my absolute favorites, also, but I prefer the regular Spray Stains, adding the Oxides in on occasion. Your cards turned out great!

Thank you for this video. I love embossing folders but can't afford a die cutting machine. Would an embossing folder work if I misted the paper and used a rolling pin? I love the look but am on a very limited budget. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry I'm not sure how it would work with a rolling pin. I'm not sure what else would apply as much pressure as the machine
