    Welcome to Stampin Up. It’s very nice that they brought you Utah and gave you such a warm welcome. I hope you like the trimmer. It is my favorite trimmer. The blades last a long time. When you cut paper with it, don’t push down on the blade; pull or push the blade to cut. This will give you a clean cut and help the blades last longer. Enjoy your new goodies!

    First, sorry for the super long comment. I just got excited to see your video and wanted to share some info ;)
    I want to say welcome to the Stampin' Up! family of demonstrators. I am a hobbyist demo. I don't sell to anyone except myself. But I love it so much. I started as a scrapbooker though, and I have missed having a lot of the scrapbooking product available to me. I did purchase some from CTMH for my own personal use. I am so excited that Stampin' Up! will be broadening their selection in that area.
    The arm on the trimmer is tight and locks in on purpose so that it stays locked and doesn't move out on you.
    I take my stamps out of the cases and put them in plastic pockets from Avery Elle to save space (because I'm a collector and have tons lol). I leave the cling ones on the carrier sheet with the cover sheet as well. I just slide a piece of white cardstock in the envelope for smaller sets if I need more sturdiness. For the red rubber cling ones, I take cardstock down to my local copy center and have them cut it down to the size I need and laminate it for me so that they will cling to it.
    I keep about 10-12 of the DVD type cases for selling my older set. When things retire I will sell off what I don't think I will use and put it back in the original cases. Then I can reuse the laminated sheets for new ones I purchase. That way I don't have to keep on getting more all the time.
    I buy 5X7 magnet sheets on Amazon and slide them in my die sleeves. And, if the dies cut images for a stamp set, I put them inside the Avery Elle pocket with the stamp set for convenience (facing away from the stamps).
    DSP doesn't typically carry over. This is a rare occurrence. Just so you know.
    I find that the bigger or busier patterns are fun to fussy cut out for embellishments as well as the stamp images, of course.

      So many fabulous tips! Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and for the warm welcome! I am so glad you will have more scrapbooking products to choose from now. So excited to see all they come out with.

    Welcome to Stampin' Up! Jayma! A paper pumpkin kit does always come in a starter kit and it's a random one. The trimmer arm will get a little easier, but it does lock in place to stay closed. I love the trimmer because it cuts and scores without changing devices. I have a score board if I'm doing a bunch of scoring, but for simple scoring for cards it's a lifesaver. Love what you got in your kit! I love Country Woods! I got two packs of it - so perfect for scrapbooking. I love the ephemera packs - especially the florals! EEK - love seaside wishes! I do keep my stamps in the cases and I add adhesive magnet sheets (from Amazon) inside the case to store dies with the stamps. There are so many ways demonstrators store them - I think you'll have to work that out with your storage space. I love the cases and I have room for them, so they're fine for me. I stick my stamps to the case (take of carrier sheets) - never had an issue doing that. Excited to see what you do with your SU! business!!

    • @JaymaMalme
      @JaymaMalme  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks, Teresa! That's good to know that a PP kit always comes with the kit. That's such a great perk! I think I'll like the stamp cases, just need to find my storage solution like you said. Good to know you store them on the case instead of the carrier sheet. It seems like they don't stick quite as strong but as long as they stay, that's what matters. Good to know it works well for you! Thanks so much for the info and your kindness! 🥰

    That's a great idea to store everything in one case!! I am a brand new Stampin' Up demonstrator and paper crafter. Thank you for that idea. I think I will invest in some foam protectors to place between the dies and stamps just to protect those precious stamps.

    I was at a crop last weekend with four stampin’ up demonstrators. One of them had the country woods paper pack, and one of them had the country lace paper pack. As soon as I saw the country woods package, I knew I had to have it! But then I saw the country lace pack and had to have that one too! The DSP always looks better in person than it does online or in the catalog.

    If you leave your stamps and dies in the orig case, you will find the writing on the spine is very tiny - BUT, if you retype the name on your label maker it will fit perfectly on the spine and be much easier to read. In addition, I add a D or a P to the top of the label showing that I either have the dies or punch for the set.

    Yes I stick the photo polymer stamps directly over picture in case and I do keep the thin plastic sheet over the stamps so they don’t pop off when opening/closing case. And then I use the thicker window set as a window sheet tin shacker cards.

    @Jayme, this may have already been mentioned but I take the stamps off the thick backer sheet and put them directly onto the stamp case and then I use the thinner plastic sheet to lay over them. It keeps them protected and you can also put the dies in there with it and they don’t get hurt.

    • @JaymaMalme
      @JaymaMalme  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks, that’s good to know. I mentioned that as an option but am unsure if I will do it or not. It’s a little scary to think about not using the carrier sheet just because I’m so used to it! 😂

    Jayma, thank you for this video, it was a lot to take in but you at least were informative as to what is going on. Being in Australia we were introduced to it yesterday but my upline only sent an email to sign up with her & the whole thing gave me a huge headache!!! Eventually at 12.10 am this morning I managed to finally place a small order as SU had packs of masking paper which sounded excellent for using when stamping, also I couldn't resist buying some of the glow in the dark paper thinking that my granddaughter might get some use out of it!. Then took advantage of the new dots from ctmh from the new enjoy the ride. I am hoping that as I was a VIP that they will also include the book with my order. Now that I have watched your video I am starting to understand what it is all about, so I will probably go back & extend my order before the month is out. The best thing is that we have our postage/handling cut in halves which is wonderful as they must have a distribution centre in Australia, like CM had which is fantastic for us. So hopefully over the next few days by the time the rest of the creative team post their videos on line I will understand a lot more!! 🤣🤣🤣 Besides I can go back & re-watch your video as many times as I need to... 🥰

    Welcome to Stampin’ Up. I watched you when you were with close to my heart, because I’m trying to get back into scrapbooking and I loved the CTMH products for scrapbooking. It was so easy because it was all put together in a kit and sadly to say Stampin’ Up isn’t so much into scrapbooking anymore. Hoping this changes now that they’ve incorporated a lot of CTMH items. it will be very interesting to watch what you girls do with Stampin’ Up products to make pages, because I don’t have the imagination which was why I was watching you because you inspired me so I’m thrilled that you’re on board and I’ll continue to watch. From British Columbia Canada. Where do you get the paper sleeves that you’re putting your glitter paper into?, those are really nice.

    A couple comments...
    1. With the ink pad - take the blank label from the bottom of the ink pad and stick it in the indented area just in front of the foam pad on the inside of the stamp case.
    2. I had a die set in the past that came on two cardboard sheets...so if they still make some larger die sets you may have trouble storing the second sheet of dies inside the stamp case. (Not sure if they still have some die sets that come on two sheets or not)

    I love Stampin Up but I have noticed that close to my heart allowed non close to my heart products to be used in videos and when I was a demonstrator stampin up only let you use stampin up products and no other products. Has that changed?

    • @JaymaMalme
      @JaymaMalme  7 месяцев назад

      Yes that has changed. They are actually more lenient than CTMH now 🎉

    • @patriciahunter1566
      @patriciahunter1566 7 месяцев назад

      Right now the CTMH Makers have their own rules during g the transition period. A new policy manual is being worked on and will be released at the end of the year for ALL SU demos. The new CTMH demos have been given policies to follow for now. They can’t do anything with the SU products that the regular demos can’t do but the CTMH products are different. Everything is in a state of transition right now. Stampin Up Demos have the same rules we always had.

    • @JaymaMalme
      @JaymaMalme  7 месяцев назад

      I heard that years ago SU had strict rules where you couldn’t show ANY item that was not SU. Now you can show other brands, you just can’t make money from them if they are similar to SU core products. With CTMH you weren’t allowed to even show products that were similar to their core products. Our “transition” rules are different but SU is still more lenient than CTMH was. I sure hope they don’t change this policy because many of us came over thinking we can still use our CTMH products mixed in with the SU.

      @@JaymaMalme CTMH products are not considered competitive product since it is now under the SU umbrella. Nothing will change with that. I also believe it is true that as long as you are not making money from showing competitors product, you can mix it in.

      @@patriciahunter1566that’s what I originally heard too but people keep saying we can’t use them after Dec. I think they are confusing “using” with “selling.” Thanks for helping clarify 😊

      They are a little higher price points because their packages come with more. They did mention bringing in more lower price point items.

      I use all the stuff from many different companies. I do have a large selection of SU products and mostly have SU inks. I turned to CTMH and Creative Memories for more “scrapbooking” options. I’m looking forward to seeing scrapbooking options at SU. It was always my #1 complaint with SU when I was a hobby demo with them. I am looking forward to watching you create with SU!!
