At 1:35 the way Q says “okay” is so heartbreaking. He really put himself out there so to see him get shot down the way he did was just so gut wrenching.
And the way Eliot says, "Not when we have a choice" sounds so harsh towards Q, as if he wouldn't choose Q, when in reality I think he means it to be self-deprecating, assuming Q wouldn't choose him if given the choice. Gods, this is just so well directed and written. This is exactly why I love this show so much.
I loved this scene because I felt the show hadn’t adequately addressed their relationship post-“life in a day” last season, so this was really satisfying.
I'm pretty sure I've memorized the entire ending of the episode judging by how many times I've already rewatched it, this is the best thing that 2019 has given us so far, thank you so much

Like, not Eliot visiting the memory but the real moment of Quentin asking Eliot if they could try to be together in _A Life in a Day._ In the very next episode -which is probably like, what, 3,4 days later at the most?? -Q is told (albeit somewhat jokingly) to 'go be life partners with someone else for a while' by Eliot and then Poppy gives him a key that forces him to constantly hear all of his worst thoughts and self-hatred 24/7. How much of what the version of Quentin made by the key said to real Quentin was about this moment? How much do you think he hated himself for this?

watching this scene now just angers me, what was the point in making this moment so significant, a moment pivotal to a romantic relationship, and then go ahead and do what they did for the season finale? its such a beautiful scene thats been sullied by the finale....Still lovely to watch though
I think maybe the point was that it's like life? Like real life. Every day people die before their character arc comes to a satisfying conclusion. Quentin death was perfectly done, and this was also perfectly well done, but perfect doesn't always mean happily ever after. The message is that it mattered, what they went through mattered, even in the face of the end

Oh I love this, I'm such a Queliot fangirl 💕 And for those of you who didn't pick up on it in "A Life in a Day," and are confused by this relationship, Q (AND Eliot imo) was w peaches girl but she died around 3-4 years later (based on the boy's age). Q and Eliot then lived together as a couple for the remainder of their lives, raising a son together. So their relationship was waaay more important than Q and Peaces (imo)
Good scene, although - and please don't hate me for this - I think Elliot's reservations were perfectly valid. There's just too much stuff going on for that entire Thing to not be terrible for both of them.

Quentin's feelings for Alice never left. They were suppressed. He made the choice of trying again with her until his life was cut short. People who aren't in love with each other don't try to get back together 3 times.
