Great video, I noticed you also have a Dynacraft Dune Buggy and I'd love to know how to do the same radius alteration, or is it identical? also, I may need to replace the wheels on my buggy since we inherited it for free from someone who didn't take care of it. any idea what wheels will fit or maybe work better to replace a back wheel on the Dune Buggy
If memory serves, the dynacraft had metal steering linkage and relocating the metal stop (with a grinder and welder) allowed modification. As for tires, I have a video where I 3D print an adapter for a ride-on that was missing a wheel. You may find that useful. Godspeed!
Hello I have a Mercedes model power wheel and it only wants to turn left and when you try to turn right it like skips but won’t turn and kinda starts shooting back to the left. Any ideas???The front wheel assembly seems to be real loose but I can’t find and screws or anything that seem loose???
appreciate the mod, just grabbed a secondhand one for my girls youngest but it's got a seized up front wheel. I've got the nut under the cap removed but I can't figure out how to fully remove the wheel from the axle
After that locking, push on nut is removed it should just come off. Maybe the axle is bent? Might just need to really yank it off then straighten the axle. Godspeed!
I wrapped the old bicycle tires on the wheels. It's fitting almost perfectly to the widht of the plastic stock tire who where becoming full of holes after 2 years. Got ALOT more traction in mud, grass and even snow and a BIG noise reduction when running on asphalt or concrete (my neighbors and myself can sleep longer on saturday mornings now). The bicycle tires are holding with auto-piercing screws to the sides so the wheels looks like they're studded, from far enough it look pretty nice but I don't care about looks, I'm more of a practical guy.
Any help on loose or no turn. Ive made no modifications, it just wont turn the wheels, the steering handle turns but the bar spins out of its groove under the front end.
The rod that connects the steering wheel and the rack must have become disconnected. Start puliing stuff apart until you find it. If you grab the wheels and manually turn, do they turn together?
@@JuliansRandomProject We are having the same issue! The rod turns fine on ours. The plastic on the steering wheel seems to have warped and does not turn the metal rod anymore. It slips. Would you suggest we get a new steering wheel?
Hey man, good tip for modding the turn radius. But how well does it work, can you add video next time of the difference it would make when in actual use.
Already gave away all the cars used for the birthday party :) If memory serves it reduced the turn radius by a few inches (all the difference when taking a tight turn).
Doesn’t work so disappointed. They rode their 4 wheeler in the back yard and had so much fun. This thing is garbage even with the mod. There’s not even a seat they sit on the floorboard. So retarded. The look cool but are super slow and don’t turn with mod. Selling it even though it’s 2 hours old, what a waste!
@@JuliansRandomProject this worked awesome just wish there was a way to make it easier to steer for my 3 year old also have theirs hooked to 20v Lithium
Would have been more useful to illustrate a before and after of the actual turning radius. Thank you for the video and tip though, it is appreciated and informative.
@@joeygodoy509 obviously I did watch the video. I think a couple marks on a piece of tape doesn't accurately illustrate the turning radius. More power to you if you can visualize what isn't demonstrated.
I appreciate you man. Just got one for my child and excited to start throwing some extra her way when she asks what else can it do!
Thank you! Very straightforward no nonsense video. Just the facts. Love it. Will do that as soon as she learns how to drive it. 🙂
Great video! I'm doing this right now. We got this for Christmas and the turning radius was terrible. Thanks!
Awesome mod, gunna try it out. Just replaced the 550 motors in my daughter's with 775 motors and upgraded metal gears
Where did you get those?
Did you swap batteries too?
Thank you!! Worked great on my kids!
tell me how was the result when handling the cart? do I improve the crossing angle? if it crosses much more?

Mine has a metal tab on the steering mechanism underneath I'm gonna try getting rid of that too
Yep

Flip it over, take some photos. DM me via Instagram. Wait a week for me to notice the request... and I'll try to help get you sorted. :)

Just got the extreme dune racee. Have you done anything to the wheels for traction?

Mine is from the 90's and between the bad radius and the worn out holes for the steering column, this thing is virtually unsteerable
Thanks for taking the time to show this. I almost sent it back
Can dune racer extreme with the wider wheels be modified turn radius without the wheels hitting?

@@J7innovation did you take the screw out for the higher speed?
My daughter just got one today! Seems pretty toed in. Any suggestions?
Friend, I plan to put my bicycle wheels on top of the wheels, so that they do not slip, put 24v battery on it and improve the crossing of the wheels
Hey would you happened to remember how effective the turning radius was by doing this and were you running a stock 12v battery?
Jaime Ramirez new radius was way better for the kid. And it was running approx 14 volts via a large LiFePo4 battery pack.

It seems like they changed something and this no longer works. Anyone have any ideas?
I wonder why they gave these so much positive camber?
I honestly thought mine was broken till I saw your comment
so they don't flip over.
Realism. It's to balance out the extreme negative camber under full front end compression coming off of jumps. (Joke)
Great Tip..Thanks Man
Great idea!
This rules, thanks!

Just the one :D This is prep for a birthday party power wheels race.
Thanks bc i thought i did something wrong when i built it im like why is it not turning right. Pisses my little buddy off
