It's an ancient culture in Senegal! The "grass guy" represents Mother Nature! They try please her before planting seed season so they can harvest good crops! It's apparently working because Casamance (location) has the richest ground in the country and every fruit and vegetable Senegalese people consume is coming from the south and the freshest you can ever eat.
it's a dance proper to the diola tribe from south senegal they do this dance for many reasons ,when rainning season is coming,circumcision ,festival etc this is their culture
