The Clientele is a band that only gets better with age. As a long time fan, I think Age of Miracles was perhaps their best record. Their most melodic, psychedelic, lyrical, enchanted, in a career of nothing but magic. They’re in a world of their own. What a gift that they’re ready to share more with us!
The Clientele are probably my favorite post 60's band. I'll never forget the moment I first heard their music. Alasdair's lyrics could stand on their own as poetry, but combined with the way they craft their music there's a beautiful synergy that's just magical. Most people I've introduced their music to have the same reaction "What is this amazing/beautiful music you're playing". Long live the Clientele!
You said it perfectly. I remember the first time I heard them as well. I was completely awestruck. It was the song 'We Could Walk Together'. That beautiful melodic guitar line he does in there stopped me in my tracks. I felt I had been looking for a band like this my whole life. I feel lucky to exist at the same time as they continue to make music.
@@CATSELFmusic Always fun to discover an artist as/after they make their comeback since it doesn't require years of waiting for any kind of news from them :)
@@nathanjs55 Yes, and I think the artist can be sure that their new material is good when it is immediately loved by new fans who didn't know their earlier work. Such a great band! And it is so nice to listen to their albums (on CD) in the car while driving through Finnish summer landscape. Looking forward to that.
The Clientele is one of the very very few bands that can write lyrics that pull and tug at my heart strings and yet still craft melodies that have me swaying softly a lot of emotions are felt whenever I find myself listening to them... and I wouldn't want it any other way.
This might be the best The Clientele song of all time. Sounds like Suburban Light produced by Bacharach. Can't wait for the new album. Just wish they were touring Texas. I talked with the group at the bar @ Hailey's in Denton 2007, sweet blokes.
Fantastic track! I can’t wait to buy the full album. They incorporated the best elements from their previous albums (such as the horn sound from Bonfires) yet also I sense an experimental approach here - something really different from anything I have heard. It works!
I have only just discovered this band, what took me so long? I can hear the influence of Lawrence (Felt, Denim, Mozart Estate etc.) here, but they have thier own unique sound. Looking forward to the next double album.
♫ La chanson du jour de ce jeudi par The Clientele. Joyeux anniversaire à Marie-Line Lachaux, Alain Rabaud, Frederic Weber, Thomas Hardy, Julien Oliba et à ceux qui sont nés un 7 décembre.
The Clientele was one of my favorite bands during the oughties. Violet suits them better than blue though... This Blue Over Blue tune is disappointing: by the book Clientele with a lazy keys part... Let's hope that the double album gonna be a little more inspiring :)

One of my all time favorite bands! 💜
The Clientele are criminally underrated.
So true!! 💯 💯 I feel very lucky to have discovered this band through the movie "The Lake House".
So unbelievable excited! Prior to 2017, I never thought this band would make new music, so every new album is something to treasure.
And I only discovered The Clientele in 2017, thanks to an Uncut compilation CD. And became an instant fan.

yeah didn't they announce years ago they were done as a band or something like that?
@@machiventa858 I think they announced an "indefinite hiatus" after their 2010 mini-album.
Yay. The Clientele go metal

So glad The Clientele is back! Fuzz and mellotrons and knights in shining armor? We'll take it!
Love that 72' Thinline Tele 💋
When I get a convertible I’ll play this on an awesome road-trip on a shady highway

Incredible music, and a great video to match! Definitely reminds me of the video for Primus' "Wynona's Big Brown Beaver."

More than a touch of Warren Zevon’s Werewolves of London in that riff.
Funky idea for a music video!
