    You got this Sam!! 💓I watched your last video when you moved your test back. Your scores are much higher now! What have you been doing differently?

    • @sam_price
      @sam_price  Год назад +1

      Aw thank you! The improvement came from a couple things-
      1. I realized I had huge content gaps when it came to the metabolic processes so I sat down and really reviewed those (though I still think I could’ve been better with these). I also made it a point to fill other big content gaps as well.
      2. I did tons of Uworld questions that were very targeted practice. I would set the questions to one very specific topic and do question sets of about 50-59 questions. This built my endurance and also helped me drill very specific topics because I was doing a bunch of the same types of questions in one question set. I wish I was able to finish Uworld. I think that would’ve brought my scores up much further. I had about 1000 questions remaining by the time I was testing. So I did about 2000 Uworld questions. This was definitely a game changer and just helped me get into the mindset of what to look for when being asked MCAT questions.
      3. The last big thing is just doing and reviewing the practice exams. This one is a given but I reviewed thoroughly using the spreadsheet my bf made me for tracking my full length exams and it was a necessary and very helpful part of the process for me.
      I hope this helps! Good luck!!

      @@sam_price Thank you so much for being so specific. Were you doing 50-59Q a day? I was planning on doing something like 40 bio q + 40 biochem q a day for a b/b day with mixed topics. but now that you say that it makes sense and i may go topic by topic too. and which CARS materials did you feel was most helpful?

    • @sam_price
      @sam_price  Год назад +1

      @@iluhyuhswag Of course! And it really depended on the day. I had some days where I did 3 question sets of 50 and other days where I only got through one. I would plan what is reasonable for you. If I could go back, I would’ve given myself less aggressive goals to meet because more often than not I was not able to get through 150+ questions in a day with good review (which is why I didn’t end up getting through the whole question bank). Your plan sounds good with 2 sets of 40 on specific topics. I definitely recommend compartmentalizing the topics. I originally wasn’t doing this and I would just select a couple subjects (say both bio & biochem) with all of the subtopics selected and I don’t think this was as helpful. It’s so helpful to continue seeing the same type of question on a topic over and over. Once I finished these sets, I felt like I mastered the given topic I was reviewing and that I would be able to tackle it on practice exams. I wish I started with this approach sooner.
      As for CARS practice, I think the moment this changed for me was when I started doing the cars question packs in a timed and controlled manner. I would recommend sitting down and doing 53 questions of CARS in one go. This teaches you how to understand the timing and build your endurance for jumping from passage to passage with no breaks in between. Of course, daily passages are always helpful but mastering the timing is going to be huge for this section and the sooner you can drill this, the better!

    congrats!! how many points did your score increase from taking the last BP to aamc 1 if you don't mind sharing your aamc 1-4 score vs bp?

    • @sam_price
      @sam_price  Год назад

      Thank you! So my last (and only full length) blueprint exam was a 505. The AAMC exam I took after that was a 509 (this was AAMC FL 3). I took AAMC FL 1 and 2 earlier and scored 501 and 503. So there was some time in between.
      Here’s a timeline breakdown for me:
      Nov 2nd- BP Diagnostic 1/2 length (495)
      Feb 2nd- BP Diagnostic again (497)
      Feb 25th- AAMC Free Sample (502)
      Mar 14th- AAMC FL 1 (501)
      Mar 22nd- AAMC FL 2 (503)
      Apr 14th- BP Free FL (505)
      Apr 27th- TPR Free FL (506 - Princeton shows 500 but scaled like AAMC it is a 506)
      May 6th- AAMC FL 3 (509)
      May 18th- AAMC FL 4 (511)
      May 23rd- AAMC FL 5 (510)
