Thank you for making this video. My first text with Halberstam was "the queer art of failure" in the 2019 lockdown and safe to say I’ve devoured his works by now. Jack's concept of the anti-social turn in queer theory and the work of Munoz - "cruising utopia" hold a personal and professional resonance for me. I think queer art remains his evergreen work because it considers non-conforming failure better than a conforming success (to undo these fascist binaries), creating alternative models of cohabitation, manifestation of shadow selves, critique of disciplinarity in academia, etc while engaging with queer archives the Halberstam way. Overall he makes me think outside conventional understandings by affirming the potency of our differences but I'm intrigued as to how you will engage with the text : )
