    I'm wondering if maybe they made the skirt longer on wisco piston so you could have a thicker base gasket for more transfer duration...

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91 2 года назад +2

      Yeah. It could surely aid in that. But I do remember when that piston was designed they did say the longer skirt was for more stability of the piston

    i also have a question about mix oil, where i live it’s hard for me to go get the normal oil i used to run which is amz oil interceptor, so i’ve been using a full synthetic snowmobile mix oil it’s xps E-tec, yamaha dealership told me it was fine to use but i’ve noticed a lot of black coming out the pipe as i’ve mentioned in your last video, would it be a good idea to try and go back to the amzoil or is what i’ve heard about it being not good to change oils for your mix true

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91 2 года назад +1

      Amsoil makes some good 2 cycle oil. I wouldn't have a problem using that. I'm not sure about snowmobile oil ,but I would want to stick with something that is formulated for the abuse of motorcross for sure.

      Also it's ok to change too cycle oils. You just dont really want to mix them. Either empty the tank and start fresh with the new different oil or run her almost empty and then fill up with the fresh new oil

    I missed your comment about oil. Do you have a brand you recommend?

      Shell rotella 15-40 in the trans and Maxima K2 for the premix.

      What oil ratio have you been using I’m a big maxima fan and only ran k2 in my KTM’s

      I been running 5 ounces per gallon which is like 25:1. But on my wife's 125 I run 3 ounces per gallon 43:1. The faster your are or the more you keep her rung out the more oil you will want to use to keep the migration oil built up in the crank area.

      @@UpAllNight91 Iv been running the Yamaha oil to break in at 32:1 just wasn’t sure if with that full synthetic if you went to less oil or not. Ktm always wants 60:1 but I like to stay with manufacturer recommendations. I’m a master service technician and been doing it for 20 years so Iv seen a lot. Was curious because how clean your power valve was. More oil make more horsepower within reason everyone is trying to use less. 20 years ago I worked for a ski doo shop and owner had a dyno and proved to me there was a horse power difference adding more oil to gas on dyno was only 1 to 1.5 more but proved it. Seals the cylinder better to the piston rings

      @@whiteman3075 KTM recommendation from what I heard has more to do with emissions, and emissions tax. I know a few racers that use my services who kept eating cranks and pistons. Over and over I told them to run more oil. Finally got them on board and crank failures nearly stopped. 60:1 is hardly any protection.
