I just bought one of those trucks. Parts are missing. But I am old and hard headed. 2 wheel drive. My first one. Nobody can hear me cussing. Had to fix things all my life. Should be a good hobby. Thanks for your wonderful videos. Onwards thru the fog🕶️👍
A 2wd T-Maxx? I bet that is interesting lol. I know all about the hard headedness, I suffer from that myself haha. If it were me, I would get a drive shaft or diff or whatever it needs and make it 4wd again. They are so much fun with all the wheels spinning. Of course if you are doing it for a reason stick with it. I would be interested in hearing how the project is going. You should create a thread over on our forum. I will be doing a lot more videos on these soon. www.Rc-Help.com
@@RcHelpDotCom Thanks for the information. It has the yoke on the front of the tranny. It will likely cost 3 times as much to get it running than buying a new one. Gotta try.
@@RcHelpDotCom When it gets here I will have the ability to see what is going on with it. It is an estate sale thing. Typical basket case. Looks like the radio module is gone, expansion chamber, air cleaner. Little Elroy got busy on it. 65.00 I watched you run your truck and it's just what I want to do. A parts source will be greatly appreciated. Used if possible. Retirement is expensive. 1/4 of the money and half the headaches.
I would quite honestly ditch the stock Tx and Rx and get a 2.4Ghz one. The old crystal Tx's out there are known to fail because of interference (and there is a lot of it these days) and when they fail it is usually at full throttle. A 10lb truck at full throttle = not a good time. The air cleaner is pretty cheap, you should be able to get it from ebay pretty cheap, as well as the rest of the parts. Just let me know when you get it and when you get a parts list. Posting on the forum would be best.
Love the videos! I bought a used T-maxx 2.5 that was missing a few parts and your video series was exactly what i was looking for to help me rebuild it. Great job!
He definitely forgot to mention to install the throttle servo mounts to the aluminum chassis BEFORE anything else. Just took it my front end back apart to do that while following this video. Otherwise, this is an excellent series and has helped me a lot with getting an old T-Maxx back into top shape!
I will have to look at my truck I have sitting here, but I don't remember having to install that first. I thought you could put it in any time. This video is quite old so I don't remember everything from the build. If this is the case, I do apologize and I will be sure to include it in the new series that will be coming out soon. Thanks for the comment Gary. www.Rc-Help.com
I got it finally. Had the gray pieces that slip on diffs reversed from back to front which created a difference. Lol. Great video btw. Using it step by step as i rebuild my first time.
I got a revo 3.3 for 200.00 and did the same things you do, its cheaper and one mans trash can be another mans treasure thanks for the reply ill subscribe
Great work Tony 💯👍I work 12hrs a day & don't know if you would be interested ? I bought a Tamiya king hauler used & was looking to have it restored plus the box trailer. I luv them thangs but it needs parts & a controller. It would also be good content as well ! Theirs a big following on them trucks 😃
Had to look that truck up, and that is a great looking little truck. I wouldn't mind having a few of them myself. Yea, I said few lmao. I have driven many different kinds, mostly tanker. But send me an email to admin@rc-help.com and we will work it out on restoring your truck. And make sure to watch the new series on the T-Maxx where I go in a LOT more detail on the rebuild, especially on the transmission. www.Rc-Help.com

RcHelpDotCom do you think you could do a video on how to adjust the shift points on the nitro transmission? I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this and I’m stumped. Thanks!
@@willcarpentieri879 That is definitely one of my upcoming videos that I already have planned. One thing to remember when adjusting the shift points, use very small adjustments. I have a new series for a 2.5 T-Maxx rebuild that may help you put yours back together. This series doesn't cover things as in depth as the newer series does. @@henrywood5462 @Henry’s RC cars What? That sounds incredibly high and they were likely trying to sell you a new kit. I would be very interested to know what they thought it would take to repair this kit.
@@RcHelpDotCom yeah I’m not gonna fix it. WAY too much for a 20 year old car! I could just get like a brand new Maxx for the price to just get that one running!
I didn't even know Walmart sold nitro fuel. I have always run Blue Thunder just for bashing or O'Donnell for racing. I have used Traxxas fuel as well and it was pretty good. It is also what Traxxas suggests and could help with a warranty claim if you burn up an engine. www.Rc-Help.com

No, if you’re staring from the back of the truck towards the front, both center drive axles should turn counter clockwise to roll forward.
