That was a awsome, pure skiing. What was your setup. My very very old T2 have given up the plastic is brittle they are falling to pieces, been looking at the Xplore system, Started out on 3 pin Leather boots, got T2's to keep my feet dry. Keep up the good work all the best from Australia.
Voile Hyper V6 ski / Voile Switchback X2 binding / Scarpa T2 Eco boot. I have removed the ski / walk mechanism from the boots so I'm always skiing in the walk mode. I do like the Xplore system but there are times and conditions when a beefier ski setup is warranted. The T2 Ecos are amazing boots and work well for my feet. I don't know how long they will last but I hope to ski them for many more years.
This has been a very unusual winter here as well. The snow arrived very late and it has been much warmer than what I'm used to. We did have a few days of great snow, and this was one of them. I think that Spring skiing will come earlier this year as well. Thanks for tuning in and for being a subscriber.
Tom…voile set up.. is the ski warranty void when using the two pin bindings? They are ment for AT binding? Your setup is good in breaking trail for floatation I see…
In this video, I'm skiing Voile's Hyper V6 that is mounted with their Switchback X2 binding. Voile's Hyper class of skis are intended for AT bindings and mounting them with a telemark or XC binding will void their warranty. Voile makes both hyper and regular versions of their skis, the regular versions being a bit heavier and with a stronger substrate in the binding area. I do own three of Voile's hyper class of skis, the Hyper V6, Objective, and Hypervector. My Objectives and Hypervectors are mounted with the Xplore binding. I have confidence in my mounts and I'm willing to take the risk in order to reduce my backcountry ski weights but others who are heavier, ski more aggressively or push their skis to the limit might not fare so well. I haven't skied a ton of different "downhill skis", so I don't consider myself an expert in this area, but I'm very happy with my Voile's and they are pretty much the only game in town if you want a traction pattern backcountry downhill ski.
I love this sounds! Thank you!
