I agree, Chris was irreplaceable also because he was the main songwriter. I don't think they have replaced him.. the later albums prove this song writing wise.. Same with Tate.. His voice did used to be incredible and has deteriorated with age. The new singer may have the chops and flair that a young singer has but he certainly won't have the timbre of voice that Tate had. that voice was pretty unique.. I personally think the band is done...
Have you not read any of the stories on Billboard or elsewhere? Geoff had these guys bent over a chair, threatening to leave any time he didn't get what he wanted. He even hired session musicians and outside writers to create music on the last couple of records, instead of the band. These guys rely on this income, they don't have other jobs - so they went along with what Tate wanted until it became clear they couldn't work with him anymore, due to his awful attitude and violent behavior.
I get they needed the income, but the reason why Geoff treated him the way he did for so long was because they allowed it to happen. His band mates remind me of battered women (and some men) who stay with their abusers because he’s (or she’s) the breadwinner. One of these dudes should have gone up to Geoff and put him in his place years before this went down...But then again, I never got the impression that the other band mates had that strong personality needed to stand up to Geoff. Geoff, is an asshole. But allowing him to punk them like that was unacceptable, even if they needed the cash
I have loved the music of Queensryche since the EP and I am heartbroken by all of this I have always has such respect for the band as artists and as people.......this is truly one of the saddest ends to what I feel is the greatest live band ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sad, sad...It´s disapointing...I use to be a QR fan...I see them in Rock In Rio II (´91) (Empire Tour) (with the line up of that day: Sepultura, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Guns and Roses)... I´m very disapointed with Geof Tate´s attitude...It´s a shame!!

Let's all look at the positives of Geoff Tate getting kicked out of the band.... at least it gives Chris DeGarmo a good reason to return to Queensryche! Let Parker Lundgren stay in the band though. Three guitars would help the band more than hurt them!

For me Rockenfield is a ton of shit, because he played in the Geoff's solo band, this not sound like oppresion to me. The Queensryche spirit always would be DeGarmo and Tate.
