Yeah it definitely reflects current society. And yet the same people who don’t think twice about those children are super concerned with any threat to potential life regardless of the danger to existing lives.

What many do not know, unless they read the books, Petta is working with one leg. He lost his leg with the cut Kato gave him in the first game. It was replaced with an artificial leg. This is the reason he slipped on the ice at the beginning of the movie. Why he told Katniss to stop looking at him like he is wounded , on the train. It is also the reason he appears weak, and clumsy in the second game. Katniss also had a handicap. She lost her hearing in the first game. However, the capital, was able to fix her hearing. They improved it to the point where she not only saw the force field, she heard it too when no one else could.

The reason that the District 12 people didn't get beaten or murked for throwing up the three fingers, and the people from D11 did, is because it's a specific custom that comes from D12. It's part of their traditions, so they are the only ones allowed to do it because it can be explained away as a customary farewell for people from District 12, rather than a sign of rebellion.
I always liked Peeta, especially in the books, because he meets Katniss where she is mentally. He's able to shelve his own pride and desires in order to be there for her fully and selflessly. He's patient and kind and smart. He has been in love with her since they were kids but he knows that these are new feelings for her, coming up during an impossibly traumatic time, so he never pushes or demands reciprocation. When he realizes the truth of the "charade" of course his feelings were initially hurt but he dropped it pretty quickly, accepting her judgment of what was necessary to survive regardless of his disappointment or ego hit. Gale is the kind of figure you might think of as a "traditional" romantic lead. He's headstrong, outspoken, passionate, and physically the type (tall, buff, ridiculously handsome). He's also angry and pushy and prideful which are very common, acceptable flaws for a man to have in the romance genre (less in the show though). Those figures push the female protagonist to be tougher versions of themselves and challenge them in ways that can be empowering or toxic, depending. Yes, Gale is a traditional romantic hero but Susan Collins flipped the script. She introduced a realistic "ideal" man. The one who supports without ego and loves deeply without strings or expectations. He knows that Katniss is the hero of the story and is content to be a reliable member of her team instead of letting it challenge his masculinity. A woman in real life wants someone who will make her feel safe and like there's someone unconditionally on her side. Don't get me wrong, I love a traditional romance trope relationship but honestly, when you introduce someone so sturdy yet soft like Peeta, the trope (Gale) just can't compete in my eyes. Peeta is truly a rare figure to find in young adult romance.

It would be one thing if they kept the clock the same and changed where the different threats were but they just spun the whole thing around like the teacups at Disney and called it a day 😂
I just reread the books and each sector had that identical tall tree right in the middle. The arena was designed to look the same in every sector. Of course, it still wouldn't take too long to see where the first few threats are, but theres a chance they'd be unlucky
Katina’s is still a KID. the seriousness of her accomplishments over shadow that sometimes when it comes to war and a totalitarian government. but i’m almost 27 and i would have also made some of the not best choices. she raised herself, all she knows is to survive. she’ll do anything to make sure her loved ones survive. she knows she doesn’t “deserve” Peeta but no one has ever cared for her the way Peeta does and that’s more valuable to her then her own life. i’d never make good decisions in her shoes at 17. she just wanted to save her sister, now her whole country is on her shoulders. horrific
You have to understand that Peeta is the only one who understands Katniss. He went through the same things she did. Gale never understood that, for him it's black and white. And despite the PTSD that Peeta has (like Katniss), he remains good and continues to think about her good. Gale is not like that. And from the beginning, Gale likes Katniss, she's never seen him that way and he knows she didn't feel the same way he did. But with Peeta, she slowly begins to have feelings for him.
@hayethayet1042 im not reading the book im looking at what is portrayed. If Katnis walked into my practice, she'll be the textbook definition of Reactive Attachment Disorder. Her affection for Peeta makes sense as he's the only one who needs her and won't abandon her. I have to just it by what I see presented not what was written that I'm unaware of
@OphepheVanessa doesn’t change the fact that she doesn’t feel sorry for him and that she’s actually in love with him. Books are canon whether you like it or not
When I read the books and watched this movies Katniss was older than me, her character really effected me as a child, can’t believe that now Im way older than her😂
36:26 by this point Katniss really does love Peeta. Maybe she doesn’t realize it or won’t admit it but she does. Thats what the force field scene was meant to show you. And the comment from Snow’s granddaughter was also meant to do that. Everyone, including snow, realized she really does love Peeta now. Katniss is probably the only one that doesn’t realize it yet. She does also have some feelings for Gale but she’s so focused on saving her family that she hasn’t really thought about who she loves more. She a confused and scared teenager.
You guys thinking making past Victor's compete in the games again is fucked up, for the first quarter quell, the districts had to vote which tributes to send to the games, and for the second, they had to pay twice the amount. Those were the games Haymitch won. We're getting a new book about it next year
During the interview the tributes were saying and doing anything they could to get them to cancel the games.. but they didn't. 😢 Also during the fog scene, Mags couldnt talk. Which means Mags couldnt scream. 😢
The relationship Katniss has with Gale the books is pretty different from the movie series😭 it's very clear that she doesn't like him in the books, she just doesn't want to lose him cause he's practically her family, but ofc it's a YA Action Romance, so they played up the love triangle a lot in the movies. Her relationship with Peeta is also more clear. She does really love him, but she has a hard time actually accepting that as reality - since the games messed with her mind so much, and she thinks its all fake because of that. In conclusion, she loves and wants Gale in a more brotherly sense, he's been part of her whole life growing up and has helped her family immensely - but she loves and needs Peeta because he actually takes her mind off this whole 'rebellion and war' crisis, and makes her feel safe to be vulnerable. He represents a future for Katniss, whereas Gale is just a reminder of that rage and oppression of her upbringing.
They need to make a hunger games about haymich he had the most people in the games ever before they had 48 so they picked 2 boy and 2 girls from each district he won the 50th hunger games
Gale probably loses almost every woman in the audience pretty early in this movie, and repeatedly afterwards, despite looking like a Hemsworth, lol. For me it's just before he kisses her in the alley, he gets pissy and Katniss says "are we gonna do this again, it was an act, I did what I had to do to survive if I didn't I'd be dead" and he KEEPS WHINING. So he's been complaining about this for months despite knowing it's what kept her alive. And then when he kisses her it's made clear that it's their first kiss, so they weren't even in a relationship at any point while he gave her a hard time about acting a relationship to not die. Also, I'd say Katniss loves Gale, but she loves him like family, not like a partner. Peeta wins when he sits down with her and respects the fact that she doesn't feel the same as he does. He communicates what his needs are, and stops pushing for more than what she's able to offer. One of the reasons Peeta is one of the best love interests in media. The respect, consent, and support.
They marketed the movies to make Team Peeta and Team Gale... and sadly that overshadowed the real story and made it seem like it's just another dystopian young adult/teenage movie. But it's not supposed to be...
Peeta in the books actually lost his leg and that’s why he’s weaker then the others, Katniss at these games actually did fall for Peeta, never felt that way about gale but did with Peeta. Peeta represents kindness, selflessness, peace, hope in all the chaos. Gale didn’t realize he had any feelings for her til after she was in the games, in the movies it’s always about him , never realized Katniss is confused and has ptsd. Peeta on the other hand just wants her to be safe and okay.
Get ready for the gale hate lol. Gale sucks him and katniss have zero chemistry and he’s just flat. He’s so pushy constantly being like do you love me like girl shut up she’s suffering through ptsd. Whereas with peeta he was hurt but eventually he just said let’s be friends alos the necklace with gales picture in it he gave her Gale would never do that! Gale is what we call the “nice guy” he’s handsome but his personality is crap and he likes to think he’s so great and nice but in reality he’s not. Peeta is soft and nice and just a genuinely a good person my only complaint is that they make him kinda weak in the movies to prop up gale to push the “love triangle” even though katniss is always showing her feelings towards peeta whereas with gale he’s the one pushing
Something you've got to remember about Katniss is she's 17 years old and her familys lifes are constantly under threat by Snow she has no time to think about wanting to be in a relationship her priority is keeping Prim alive

katniss sees peeta as one of the only truly good people left and wants to save him because of that. i think she’s too caught up in surviving to realize that it’s also because she likes him until he almost dies, then it finally clicks for her lol
"once you see lightning you know it's 12" THANK YOU!!! Like, what do you mean "let's see how they tell time now"...the big tree is still 12.
The tail of the cornucopia was how they were keeping track of the lightning tree, but they could tell the rough time of day from the sun
YOU don't like Peeta however Katniss does.
Clock it 🤭
@@thedothrakian6355 threw me for a bit. "Clock" is not used that much in the USA that way yet.
Fair enough 😂
Katnis feels sorry for Peeta. She has a lot of empathy for broken things and Peeta is certainly broken. I wouldnt say she loves him
@@OphepheVanessa she's crazy in love with him actually, the books describe it better
@hayethayet1042 im not reading the book im looking at what is portrayed.
If Katnis walked into my practice, she'll be the textbook definition of Reactive Attachment Disorder. Her affection for Peeta makes sense as he's the only one who needs her and won't abandon her.
I have to just it by what I see presented not what was written that I'm unaware of
@@OphepheVanessa Katniss feels sorry for Gale.
@OphepheVanessa doesn’t change the fact that she doesn’t feel sorry for him and that she’s actually in love with him. Books are canon whether you like it or not
32:17 "I can't believe he actually got away with it! That's cool".....famous last words 💀😭
😭😂😭
The fog burns and affects your nervous system. That's why it hard to walk and they can't run from it.
So excited for yall to finish this series! It’s absolutely amazing
It’s been great so far 😤
So happy you posted this today! I'm following ALL of your Hunger Games. Can't wait for the next one. It's gonna be mind blowing 😂😂❤
Thank you 🙏🏾
When I read the books and watched this movies Katniss was older than me, her character really effected me as a child, can’t believe that now Im way older than her😂
so happy your doing this series!
Catching Fire is the best Hunger Games movie
36:26 by this point Katniss really does love Peeta. Maybe she doesn’t realize it or won’t admit it but she does. Thats what the force field scene was meant to show you. And the comment from Snow’s granddaughter was also meant to do that. Everyone, including snow, realized she really does love Peeta now. Katniss is probably the only one that doesn’t realize it yet. She does also have some feelings for Gale but she’s so focused on saving her family that she hasn’t really thought about who she loves more. She a confused and scared teenager.
FINNICK ODAIR 🤩🤩
She doesn’t Want to die for either boy, but she’s Willing to die to save them and others. Her empathy was the spark that ignited the districts.
You guys thinking making past Victor's compete in the games again is fucked up, for the first quarter quell, the districts had to vote which tributes to send to the games, and for the second, they had to pay twice the amount. Those were the games Haymitch won. We're getting a new book about it next year
I just wanna say Peeta is the standar❤
During the interview the tributes were saying and doing anything they could to get them to cancel the games.. but they didn't. 😢 Also during the fog scene, Mags couldnt talk. Which means Mags couldnt scream. 😢
Gale sucks and Katniss does not prefer him, her priority is saving Prim. Good reaction except for your obsession with Gale lol 😊
😭
Amazing reaction of my favorite The Hunger Games movie!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊
Honestly it was amazing !! 🤩
You guys are definitely the best RUclips movie reactors ❤
Thanks for the support 🥺
My fave film in the franchise 🙏🙏
YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAA HUNGER GAMESSSSSS
22:31 lmaoooo the whistling edit was too fucking much😂
In Finnick I Trust ❤ 🔥 💪🏻
Who thinks catching fire is better than the first movie?
👀
The entire world lmao
Gale sucks and Peeta will always be better❤❤
They need to make a hunger games about haymich he had the most people in the games ever before they had 48 so they picked 2 boy and 2 girls from each district he won the 50th hunger games
Ok yes. Kisses on the forehead (and tip of the nose) are way more intimate than on the mouth. 100990% agree
Why haven't you uploaded the next movie reaction? 😭😭😭
Nah i like all your reactions but i dont vibe with people that dont like peeta. like how could you not like him atleast what
Agora as coisas vão começar a ficar serias
React to Robots (2005) movie
They marketed the movies to make Team Peeta and Team Gale... and sadly that overshadowed the real story and made it seem like it's just another dystopian young adult/teenage movie. But it's not supposed to be...
Part 3 😢
Please your next reaction has to be Angus thongs and perfect snoggings it’s so funny
React to Happy Feet movie
My favss🤍
Thank you for the support 🙏🏾
